Hi All,

I'm looking for a way to control the initial width of the TOC, Index and Glossary pane on the left of the tripane window.

Currently the left pane is huge.

Any expereince or solutions greatly appreciated.

Multilevel list RH9 - How to set a second level indent (no number or symbol)

Hi all,

RH9

I need to create a new multi level list with a level 2 without a bullet or number

e.g.

first level

second level

. third level
first level

second level

. third level

So first level number, second level indent and third level bullet. I don't want to use CTRL enter for second level.

For the life of me I cannot get multi level list to have no number or image. If I select list style NONE for the second level it inserts 'A'.

Any ideas appreciated thanks

We are trying to avoid using shift - enter to achieve this - we want the document a bit tidier. And and tailorable for print.

Will report back if I get a solution.

Web-help output - square bullets issue (firefox)

I wonder if anyone has come up with a fix for square bullets not being displayed in Firefox correctly.

I've created some lists using the multi level list styles which work perfectly.

The bullet list display great in all browsers apart from firfox. The issue is square bullets being displayed as § symbols.

The obvious fix is not to use square bullets

Or to use a image for square bullet but that may render differently in print.

I'd rather find a workaround using the default bullets.

Appreciate it is a firefox issue rather than Robohelp specfic. But sure someone out there has a solution?

I'm fiddling round with styles to try and sort it out but would appreciate any advice.

Indesign - Creating a Portfolio

Is this the right tool for the job and any guidance appreciated.

I'm familiar with a few Adobe Products but afraid to say an Indesign virgin and would appreciate a little guidance please.

Not usually my line of work (or favours should I say), but a friend has asked me to help put a portfolio together for her Hairdressing Studio. Think she has been trying to do this with Powerpoint so far.

She is bringing over some images, photos, charts and information to help put it together. Not going to have much time so need a tool that will allow me to pull in images quickly and put together accompanying text and a fancy welcome page. It then goes off to a printers in a CD friday. The photos will need to be high quality.

I looked a few Adobe products and Indesign seems to lend itself to this kind of task? Or am I barking up the wrong tree? Advice appreciated.

Am I right to assume that there are no templates for a portfolio format? In otherword do I need to start from scratch.

A sanity check and any pointers would be appreciated.

I'm familiar with the pod design, dreamweaver, robohelp, captivate and flash so hoping I can get up to speed reasonably quickly.

Error on shortcut control to open PDF

Hi All,

Robohelp X5.02
XP Pro, IE 6.0
Adobe Reader 7.0 installed and fully updated.
Help Output Type: HTML Help .chm
Notes: Help is always run locally. Help file contains many shortcut controls to external document is the same directory as the .chm.

Everytime a shortcut control is used to open a PDF file the following error message is displayed "Unable to start "acrord32.exe".
Any help would be appreciated.

Thought I'd seen this issue before but not luck finding a solution.

A few clients are still running their .chms over a network.

I was asked today whether each user can maintain their own favorites list (via the favorites tab) when accessing the .chm in this way.

My gut feeling tells me that they cannot do this as the favorites file will not be saved locally. But, I'd like to see what you guys think? Unfortunately, due to network restrictions, I cannot test this theory myself.

Outline Numbering HTML

Hi All,

Has anyone tried to get outline numbering to work with HTML or dreamweaver? I'm not even sure if this feature is supported?

I've done the usual trawl around google but only found a couple of very convoluted methods. I get the feeling that it is not supported and would rather get some feedback from people who have tried it.

Off Topic: Change File Attributes (date)

Hi All,

Sorry this is off topic but I need a quick fix. I need to change the date stamp on a set of files within a directory. Anyone know a quick trick? Just need to mark all files with today's date.

We are restricted on freeware and shareware on site, so would rather do this without downloading third party software.

We need to add some text / logo to each slide of a large existing movie.
Do we need to get ready with the cut and paste keys or is there and easeir way to achieve this?

Securing Captivate Movies and Providing Access via the Web

Apologies if this is a little off topic, but I just thought that someone out there has bumped into this problem and come up with a solution. Any advice / pointers gratefully received thanks!

I'd like to create a bunch of captivate movies which will be accessed over the web. Different clients/customers need to access different movies. What I'd really like to be able to do is post these movies on my site OR a site offering secure hosting.

The client would be given a URL - when they accessed the URL they would go to a login page (and provide a password) and then be presented with a startup page / menu where they can access the movies that relate to the software that they are using (the clients all use different versions of the software so the movies are subtly different for each).

Any one come across this type of hosting solution or has any ideas for this scenario?
