How to get new files from TFS to local project?

I have RH10 connecting to Team Foundation Server for source control. Unless I'm mistaken, I'm beginning to see and regret that the Get Latest Version dialogue in RH only applies to files that were in the project when first loaded to my PC. If the owner of a project adds files and saves them to TFS, how do I then get those files added to my local copy when I open the project myself? I don't even see a manual way to do this in RH, but ideally I want an automatic solution.

So how do I:

Set up TFS/RoboHelp to get all new files whenever a project is opened?
Manually grab all new files within RH if that fails?

The point is, I understand I can do this in Source Control Explorer but does RH have an equivalent?

TOC, search, index links do not work in IE10 after toggling panes

I have RH 10 projects published in WebHelp that have the following behavior in IE10:

Click a TOC entry and view the topic as expected.
Click other TOC entries and see the corresponding topics.
Then click a button on the skin such as Index or Search, then click an entry: the main pane turns white. Even if I just click the Contents button again, none of the entries respond.

This does not happen in Chrome nor in IE10 Compatibilty View, but we don't have the option of using either as a fix.

Standalone RH10 has no Windows 7 taskbar functionality

I just got a slightly rude awakening today. I had to give up my license for TechComm suite and just have RoboHelp 10. Now I can't pin the RH icon to the taskbar, nor do I have the usual options when right-clicking the window indicator that does appear on the taskbar when a project is open. All I can do is close the window:

Is there a way to get the taskbar functionalities back for the standalone RH 10?

Critical error of Source Control Provider

I have seen this issue mentioned before with no resolution, but I'll give it a try:

My team has RoboHelp 10 using Microsoft Team Explorer for Visual Studio 2012. When we open an RH project through version control and publish it, we get an error message: “Critical error of Source Control Provider. Please restart IDE”. However, we can just close the pop-up and the publishing continues without fail. Subsequent publishings while the project is open doesn’t get the error message, but if we close and reopen, the first publishing gets the message back.

Why would that error message appear just once, and why is it critical if the connection to the server is not broken and there is no other problem?

Prevent "Word Bookmarks" placeholder from appearing in PDF

I am converting a Word 2007 document to PDF, selecting Convert Word Bookmarks, and editing it with Acrobat X Pro. Is there a setting to prevent the Word Bookmarks placeholder from being generated? I see no purpose to it and you have to move all the real bookmarks "out" of it before deleting it.

Find and replace in files does not refresh when changes are made

Using RH10, I search for a term with the Find and Replace Options pod. I use the Find Results list as a reference only, and open each file from the Topic List. I do this instead of opening the topics from the Find Results tab because I want to see the WYSIWYG changes. Anyway, I make my edits and delete the search term from each topic. Then, to make sure I have done all the work, I run the search again. I expect to see no or at least fewer matches than before, but I still get some or all of the same results as before, even though I double-check the Design and HTML views of the topics and even check the source of a topic separately in Notepad, all indicating that the search term is gone from the topic.

There is some ridiculous lingering or echo going on. I make sure to select Look in: <Current Project>, and the paths of all the Find Results files are fine. How do you refresh the search so that this echo doesn't occur?

Also, I close the Find and Replace Options pod, reopen it and start the search again, and the same results are there.

Wrong topics listed in "Used in Topics" for snippets and snippets report

Using RoboHelp 10, I have 60 snippets in a project. For some of these snippets, when I look at the list of topics using that snippet (either by right-clicking the snippet in the Snippets pod and selecting Properties > Used In; right-clicking in the snippet edit window and selecting Topic Properties > Used In; or in the Snippets report), some of those topics do not actually use the snippet. Of course I verify this by searching in the HTML code of the misreferenced topics to be thorough. This even happens when in fact no topics are referencing it, and the snippet name is bold in the pod indicating so!

I closed and re-opened the project, thinking there was some kind of synching issue, but that didn't fix it. Has anyone else seen this?

Published topic is blank until I right-click

We have several projects published with either RH9 or RH10 and viewing them in IE8. Some of the topics are short and link to other topics in another project. The content looks like this:

The Link to path in the here link is /htm/imd/imtof09.htm and htm is the root folder of all the projects on our server. The links are also set to display as Same Frame.

So...the problem is that when you click one of these links, the target frame shows up as blank and the frame borders blink rapidly. Only when you right-click that frame or the TOC frame will the topic appear as it should.

This does NOT occur for links to other topics in the same project.

At first we thought this was only occurring with projects published with RH10, but it's also happening with RH9.

Inserting Title variable that refers to topic other than where variable resides

Still using RH9, but I think RH10 is going into our upcoming budget. I understand the Title variable in the Fields and Variables dialog refers to the title of the topic in which you are placing the variable. However, I would like to use a topic title reference in another topic, because it is likely the title will change and I only want to change it in one place and have it reflected automatically.

Here are two inadequate solutions I would reject:

Dragging the topic name from the Project Manager and then changing the title of the referred topic: it does not change the reference text.
Making a user defined variable: seems counterproductive because I will still be making one change too many.

Example: I have a topic called VIP PO Approval that is referring to the VIP PO Upload/Entry topic. I am putting hyperlinks from the Approval topic to the Upload/Entry topic, but the text of the links should come from the "Upload/Entry" Topic Title field. If the powers that be change the spelling of Upload/Entry (perhaps include spaces around the slash), I only want to change it in the properties of that topic or rename it in Project Manager (the point is, in one place only).

Does anyone know how to do this in RH9? Is there an enhancement in RH10?

Image tool tip within Design Editor only appears in unique situation

I have RoboHelp 9 on Windows 7. This issue may be beyond just Adobe, but I'll try. I have a dual extended monitor setup. When I hover over an image in the Design Editor, I can only see the tool tip when RH is in the right monitor and the desktop is visible in the left monitor. As long as the rightmost part of the left screen shows the desktop (that is, most applications are minimized on the left), then the tip indicating the name of the image file is visible, as in the attached (tip is outlined in blue). However, the tip will not appear over an open window in the left monitor.

Is there a setting in RH so that it will appear somewhere regardless of what windows are where and how the desktop is set up?

Printed doc topics listed in WinXP Recent Documents list

I recently upgraded to RoboHelp 9 from 7. I generated a printed doc and each topic is listed in the Recent Documents list in Windows XP, as follows:

The file names all begin with $HtmlDoc_Chapter_... By the way, these files can't be found once you click one of the names. It looks like some temporary files made during generation. The point is, I don't want them in my Recent Documents list. How can I prevent this from happening?
