Process properties is missing. I need to set a varaible. Can you tell me what I am missing or doing wrong?

I am trying to set up a universal process to create printed documents from data submitted via a watched folder. The file arrives in the folder fine. My process accepts the data the way it should but when I try to set the variables in the process from my xml input, I cannot. The process properties says nothing selected. The Set Value service is running. We have a very abbreviated version of Live Cycle ES4 with only Forms and Output purchased. Any suggestions or help with this would be appreciated. One additional note: I am not sure if this is an installation, configuration, or deployment issue. I had this working in the evaluation copy, now in the abreviated purchased copy it is not. We are new, I am tasked with converting old old jetforms to Live cycle. Thank you.

New install does not allow write to repository

We are going from the evaluation copy to our licensed test environment. We have Microsoft Server 2008 R2, WebLogic and SQL as our environment.

Everything looks like it should however I cannot deploy, undeploy or create a new application from Work bench. I have tried the solution offered in FAQs for Workbench for the RepositoryProviderService, that did not resolve my problem. The error received when trying to create a new application was "Failed to create application, Please check if application ......" It seems that I can work in workbench up to the point of deployment. then I get a cannot serialize module for existing applications. I would delete the application and start from scratch but I am not sure how to do that either. Any suggestions?

How do we resolve a version discrepancy between workbench and the Live Cycle Server after upgrade?
