iPhone 6 Folio?

Is it possible to designate a separate folio for the iPhone 6 or 6+? iTunes Connect has a separate area for screenshots for the two devices and frankly a dual orientation layout looks a heck of a lot better on an iPhone 6+ than an iPhone 5.

I have multiple apps that ever since the iOS 8 update (V32) are showing as "Cannot Update Library." I've checked my Folio Producer and none of my apps have the same Product ID. "com.focusapps.title.issue#"

Apple Pay Integration?

I've been thinking - before Apple Pay, if we wanted to sell physical products via our magazines i.e. subscriptions or back issues of our print magazines, someone would have to tap a link to go to a website and fill out all of their billing and contact info - very clunky. If we wanted to sell it inside of the app, we would have had to create an in-app purchase and Apple would've charged 30% - or we would've had to go with a 3rd party payment processor to purchase a physical product - again, clunky. Apple Pay, however; gives us a very unique opportunity. People can buy physical products via our magazines and the user will only have to tap some kind of Buy Now button and scan their thumbprint to confirm the purchase if they have a 5s/6/6+ or iPad Air 2/iPad Mini 3. So, my question is: How would we set something like this up in DPS? A Web Content Folio Overlay? Is there some kind of integration that would have to be done with a future version of DPS itself?

Fit Frame to Content

I searched the database for a script that lets me fit the frame to content for all of the images in my document. I have 50 pages to my document. The master page has a frame with a 96 pixel margin on a 1024 x 768 document so the frame is 576 x 832. The frame has an auto-fit option of Fit Content Proportionally. The frame also has a crop amount of 5 pixels on each side. I do this so I can add a Pan & Zoom overlay to each image. I need a way to fit the frame to the content automatically for each image. I know of a couple of scripts that fit the frame to the content automatically, but these scripts ignore the crop I have on the master frame. So I need a way to fit the frame to the content for all of my images in the document when I run it, and I need a way for this script to recognize the crop I have on each image. Does anyone have this? Many thanks ahead of time.

Can anybody decipher exactly what this means? Where in the world would I have enabled iOS Advertising Identifier in the building of this app and how the heck do I turn it off??

Notification session expired?

I'm in the Folio Producer Organizer and I click on Notifications because I wish to send out a push notification to everyone who has downloaded my app. For some reason it keeps saying that the session is expired and redirects me back to the Folio Producer Organizer. I've signed out and signed back in and I get the same thing. What am I doing wrong?

I think I probably already know the answer to this question, but I figure I could get lucky... will V32 have iPhone 6 support assuming that Apple is releasing a 4.7 and a 5.5 inch iPhone? I'm assuming many publishers here will want to take better advantage of the increased available landscape with larger iPhones...

App for newsstand rejected?!

This is our first app using DPS that we've submitted to Apple for newsstand distribution. I got this feedback when the app was rejected. Any help would be very much appreciated.

We found that your app is enabled for Newsstand but does not provide content that is appropriate for Newsstand, as required by Schedule 2 of the iOS Developer Program License Agreement. Adhering to the terms and conditions of Schedules 1, 2, and 3 of the Developer Program License Agreement is required by the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically, Schedule 2, Section 3.13 states,

"Licensed Applications offering subscription services may be included in Apple’s Newsstand application provided that, in addition to the requirements set forth in paragraphs 3.8 et seq., You:

…

- Confirm that the content of the Licensed Application is a periodical (e.g. newspaper or magazine)"

It would be appropriate to disable "Newsstand" then resubmit your app. You can learn more about managing "Newsstand" in the iTunes Connect Developer Guide.

In-app purchase not showing up

We recently submitted a new app to the Apple Store and got it approved. The sales have been doing so well, we wanted to introduce a new issue. Both issue Folios are V30 and both show up as published by Adobe DPS Folio Producer. When we log into the dps account for the title, the second issue shows up just fine. I've also deleted and re-installed the app and the new in-app purchase, which was approved by Apple, is still not showing up. What could be causing this?

I currently have 19 apps that are up and running from 19 separate accounts using DPS Pro Agency - all using Adobe DPS. I am trying to share at least 1 FOLIO that each of these apps has with another e-mail address that has been registered and verified with Adobe so I can have one account where I can view ALL of my magazines. I am trying to view them all in Adobe Content Viewer. Each FOLIO is V29 or V30. I have over 20 GB available on my iPad 3 running iOS 7.1. I have the latest updates. My Adobe Viewer is version 30.0. Basically everything is updated and I have more than enough capacity to download everything.

Here is my problem: I am sharing folios from each of these accounts but I can't get them to show up in Adobe Content Viewer. I know I'm typing in the right e-mail address to share them with because I'm getting e-mails alerting me of the shared folios. I checked the DPS status page and there doesn't seem to be an issue right now - so I would appreciate if anyone could offer me some help? Am I doing something wrong?

Hello, I recently submitted a multi-folio app w/ subscriptions to Apple. They rejected it for the following reason:

We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPad running iOS 7.0.4, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically, an error message appears purchasing additional content. Please see the attached screenshot for details.

The screenshot says "The subscription was successfully purchased. Unfortunately, we encountered an error while determining which issues are available for download. Your subscription will be applied the next time the library successfully updates."

What does this mean?

I'm really confused over the way Adobe is presenting information in the Fulfillments CSV file in the back end.

I have 4 columns that matter:

Total_Billable_Fulfillments

Device_Viewer_Billable_Fulfillments

Device_Viewer_Article_Preview_Billable_Fulfillments

Device_Viewer_Article_Billable_Fulfillments

The Article Preview Billiable Fullfilments column matters the most to me. Am I being charged the full folio rate in this column or am I being charged a fractional rate?

Cannot generate distribution p12 certificate - urgent

I'm building a multi-folio app with subscriptions and I've been doing this over and over and over again all weekend and I keep hitting a roadblock. I've downloaded the Professional and Enterprise DPS helper PDF and it doesn't help me with this problem. This time my roadblock is that I cannot generate my distribution p12 certificate. Why?? I have no clue. It is enormously frustrating.

I'm in the developer.apple.com area trying to generate a Production Certificate for App Store and Ad Hoc and that option i grayed out - so I can't generate it. I've already revoked my previous certificate for this... so I don't know why I'm being locked out of this. Please help!

Is there a way to automatically generate captions when I'm placing a new image? Right now, the only option is to either place the caption right after I place the image or to generate a caption afterwards -- there's no option to automatically place it with the image itself.

Additionally - has anyone come up with a script that allows a keyboard shorcut that generates a static caption? It would be nice if Adobe came up with these..

Sharing Folios not working

According to the Adobe DPS status page (http://status.adobedps.com/) everything is hunky dory. But someone with a registered dps e-mail address is trying to share their folio with me. I have a number of folios being shared with my e-mail address right now... not sure why this isn't working. Can someone find out if there is yet another server issue going on?

Pan & Zoom Overlay Errors

Hello - I have multiple InDesign articles that are using one pan & zoom overlay per page.

I'm using a 1024 x 768 landscape orientation document

Working on a 576 x 832 (96 pixel margins) frame on the master page

The article is 21 pages, with 20 pan and zoom images

My process: I have used a master page frame to save time on creating a new frame every page. I place an image that is much large than 576 x 832

I click on fitting -> fit frame proportionally and decrease the size of the frame to 775. Each of the images are sitting at 800 pixels wide, so I know they're bigger than the frame itself.

I have done this for multiple articles, multiple times. There isn't any rhyme or reason, but sometimes the Folider Builder takes what I have and sometimes it doesn't. I have been running into this problem numerous times, especially when creatiing an alternate layout from a Portrait orientation. I haven't the slightest clue why an article that was, just yesterday added into the Folio is now today being rejected when nothing in the article has changed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - but I must say that the process for doing multiple pan and zoom images in one magazine (160+) is the most painstaking task for Adobe DPS I've ever used.

I have a very curious question.

I just downloaded the latest issue of WIRED from NextIssue and it took a whole lot less time to download the entire issue which has the same features and interactive functionality as their DPS App does - it also takes a lot less space than Adobe DPS does. How are they able to incorporate all of the interactivity that InDesign has into a completely non-DPS app?

Adobe DPS vs. PDF Publishing

I noticed something the other day when comparion an old edition of my magazine against a DPS edition of my magazine. The quality of the DPS maazine was much higher than the other guy who just ingested a PDF that I sent him. Since this was an iPad and the FOLIO was in PDF format - I don't understand why this is. Can anyone help me on this? There are a lot of back issues that I have that would take way too long to convert to the way that DPS does digital publishing - but I'm fine with that. I just want to know why the quality of a magazine on a .FOLIO looks so much better than it does on a PDF.

Someone from Adobe on an earlier post mentioned that when one has their own DPS Professional Edition subscription, they may create apps on behalf of other clients and then their clients may either choose you to host and sell their content with Apple or do it themselves. This is known to be the Agency Model and I was told, several times in fact, that this was not available for any edition of DPS except Enterprise Edition.

I would appreciate an official answer from Adobe on this matter. Thanks.

Pan & Zoom - Different renditions

I have a 4 pan and zoom objects that are just fine in a 1024 x 768 for horizontal and vertical rendition of my article.

I created an alternate layout for the iPad 3/4 - 2048 x 1536 for horizontal and vertical. I cannot upload my article to my folio because of a Content generation error.

[Error: An image in an image pan overlay is smaller than the frame on the page.]

I just deleted the article I have for the 1024 x 768 rendition and re-added to my SD Folio and it uploaded just fine. What seems to be the problem here??

I have a FOLIO file that was designed in India, sent to me in NY and my client in Los Angeles - we are trying to view this on the iPad by creating a FOLIO in Folio Builder and Adding the Article - it is one InDesign document that is 12 pages long and has some interactivity in it.

None of us can get this InDesign file to upload into the Folio Builder panel. We each keep getting the same error or Network Failure.

Can someone at Adobe PLEASE help me with this issue? This has been going on for days now.

Is anyone else experiencing problems trying to update articles to their folios? I keep getting a network error and when I don't, it moves at a snail's pace. The DPS Status page doesn't currently show any problems, though...
