Getting Kuler Panel to work in Illustrator CC?

In Illustrator CC (MacOS), the panel is blank, except for this:

"The Kuler panel enables you to download color themes saved in your Kuler account. A valid Adobe ID is required to use this feature." And all the panel options are grayed out.

There doesn't seem to be any way to let Illustrator know that I (obviously) have a valid Adobe ID, and constant internet access -- hence being able to run CC apps, for instance.

When I go to kuler.adobe.com/, it knows who I am (via my Adobe ID), and I remain signed in there.

So what's the secret to connecting Kuler with Illustrator CC?

Photoshop CS6 needs "Adobe Application Manager"???

I typically use Photoshop CC 2014, but today, I need CS6. When booting CS6, I get this dialog:

So I downloaded this old app, and installed it. However, after installing it, when attempting to run CS6, up comes the same dialog.

I seem to be STUCK on a LOOP. Any ideas?

Today I checked my Creative Cloud app, as I do once in awhile. I get the following:

I have repeatedly downloaded and installed Creative Cloud, but am still getting the same error message when running it.

Is the current downloadable Creative Cloud App damaged? Obviously, my download connection works perfectly.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

CC thinks Muse CC 2014 is "up to date," but it is NOT installed. What can I do?

I was on the Muse Prerelease team. I think CC somehow got Muse CC 2014 confused with Muse Prerelease. The app said it was Muse CC 2014, but the welcome screen still had all the Prerelease NDA stuff, which was, well, WEIRD.

So I uninstalled Muse Prerelease.

Now CC says Muse CC 2014 is "up to date." But it does not exist on my system.

I opened a chat, and spoke to Abdaidulla, who after about 25 minutes kicked me up to Rajan, but Rajan was clueless - no one was able to help me. The chat wasted 55 minutes. They could not solve the problem, and finally gave up and gave me an 800 number, which I called, but it seems to be the Adobe SALES line, and they're closed anyway. I'll call them again tomorrow.

During the chat, Rajan had me run Muse CC v. 7.4.30 from May of this year (not CC 2014). It has a dialog saying there is a Muse update, but when I click on it, it simply runs CC, which tells me Muse CC 2014 is "already up to date." So it does nothing. GRRR!

Isn't there anything I can do tonight to reset what CC falsely thinks is a completed installation? Like a Preferences file or something?

I confirmed it was there in my browser.

I clicked Verify on their verification page, but they are for some unknown reason, unable to verify my ownership of the site.

How do I get it to work? I followed their written instructions perfectly several times, but it never WORKS!

How do I point several domain names to the same published site?

That may seem like a stupid question to some, but I'm a graphic designer, not a web developer.

I built a site using Muse, and it is recently live at familiesontheoutside.org. (No, I'm not trolling for traffic; I really need guidance.)

My client bought a long list of domain names, all to be pointed to the same site. However, I recently read something on statscrop.com about "canonical URL". I apparently don't have a high enough geek rating to make much sense of this, but I'm willing to learn ...

Is setting up a canonical URL the SAME as just going to my client's domain provider and pointing all the domains they bought to the same DNS numbers?

If not, then please just tell me the best way to get all the domain names pointed to the same site, and I'll try to figure out canonical URL another time.

Slide Show fails to show slide #1, starts on #2

After months of work, we finally got the desktop version of this site signed off. Now we're in the process of copying the entire site to the phone format, which means hours and hours of resizing each individual part of the site.

The Home page is a simple "hero" slideshow, with type and links on each slide. It works beautifully, that is, until it gets moved to the phone site.

Now, instead of beginning the slideshow on slide 1, it starts on slide TWO. :-(

The only clue we have as to what is apparently wrong are the triggers in Muse.

This is what the triggers look like in Muse on the desktop version:

... and this is what they look like in Muse on the Phone version. Notice the "+" sign is now showing up after the FIRST slide instead of the LAST slide.

We've transferred slide shows from desktop to phone and tablet versions before, and used the exact same procedure. So (1) WHY now, does the "+" sign show up on the FIRST slide instead of the LAST one, and (2) HOW do we move it to the last slide so the FIRST slide will show up when the page is previewed or published?

Ability to control tab order in forms

I LOVE Muse! :+)

Today I designed a really nice horizontal detailed contact form in Muse. But when I uploaded it and attempted to fill it out and send it in, the tab order is simply weird. At first it goes left to right and top to bottom, but then suddenly it is going right to left. It ends up going to image verification before it finally hits the last relevant field for the user, which is HIGHER on the vertical than image verification is.

I've placed a query in the Muse forum, but no one seems to know much about this yet.

If there isn't some kind of prescribed method for arbitrarily setting the tab order when filling out a form, we need it BADLY.

Automatic Metadata Transfer to Pad, Phone

It sure would save a ton of time if it was possible to have Muse automatically transfer all metadata across all site versions (desktop, pads, phones). On sites with many pages, this can take hours to do manually. It would need to be a global option of some kind, as metadata is entered via Page Properties.

I can't seem to find grid set-up -- in other Adobe apps, it's usually in Prefs, but not in Muse apparently ...

Right now, if I Show Grid Overlay, the entire page turns red. I need my grid to be something other than 1x1.

Photoshop bug report site is broken (using wrong site)

I have a pretty serious Photoshop bug to report -- something that was supposedly fixed in 14.2.1.

I took the time to go to https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform as usual when reporting bugs.

I wrote out the nature of the bug, and all the steps to reproduce it.

But the CONTINUE button is non-functional. At the moment it is IMPOSSIBLE to report bugs to Adobe.

We need a way to change the default font to something other than Myriad 12 pt.

It would seem almost a "no brainer" to allow AI users to choose their own default font and font size for new documents. This could be VERY useful in some situations, where many documents are created, all needing the same font and size.

Whether this is a Preferences setting, or made possible in AI templates, it would be most welcome.

ai CC: Repeatable 3D Bevel Error

I was playing around with the new AI CC fetures, notably Live Corners. Live Corners is very useful, but in doing this, I discovered a possible BUG in 3D Bevel. (See screen shots, below.)

There is nothing apparently wrong with the path Live Corners produced (no double-points, etc.), so I found no object repair possible before applying 3D Bevel.

After discovering this, I undid the 3D Bevel, and rotated the object slightly. Here is what 3D Bevel does now:

AI CS6 does the same thing, but the errors are in different places. AI CS5 has different looking errors, and there are many more of them.

Any thoughts on workarounds? Or am I just stuck with an AI CC 3D Bevel BUG?

Creative Cloud "Installation Failed"

I'm not sure what the "Creative Cloud" app actually is, except that it's apparently something new tonight. I've tried several times so far, and I always get the "Installation Failed" notice.

Other new CC apps have downloaded and installed just fine.

There is a "More details." link under the "Installation Failed" notice (in the App Mgr), but it only goes to a BLANK web page.

"After Effects warning: Unable to load font "^0" "Helvetica Neue"

Today in attempting to run After Effects CC, I get the above error. -- Helvetica Neue IS installed on my system.

After I click OK to the first error dialog, a seconf dialog comes up:

"Cannot load font required for the After Effects Interface. Please replace the font or reinstall After Effects." -- Then a third dialog comes up: "After Effects can't continue: unexpected failure during application startup" -- Where do I get this mystery font? Or alternatively, HOW do I "reinstall After Effects?"

It seems very strange to me, but there are NO PRICES listed at typekit.com.

You can see lots of faces, but there seems to be no way to USE those faces on the web! I excpected there to be SOME information on pricing, but there is NONE.

I created a web form, published it to a scratch page on my site, which is temporarily hosted on Business Catalyst. Then I updated the site, gave it a new name and published it alongside the original site version, so my client can compare.

But when filling out my contact form from the newer site version, the server tells me I DELETED my web form, and it fails to do all the things it should (serve the followup page, send emails, etc.).

I did NOT delete the form. In fact, it is STILL THERE, working as designed from the earlier version of the site. As soon as this happened, I went back to the earlier site version, and the form works PERFECTLY.

What is happening? WHY is the form not functioning from the second site version, since the form is STILL THERE???

Menu Control with "All Pages" - ?

I built a site with just top-level menus. I have "unseen" pages, such as a "thanks for your contact" page, after someone submits a contact form. That page is not accessible via any menu, and is only served after someone submits a form.

Now I need to ADD sub-menus, but I don't want to show the "thanks for your contact" page in the sub-menus, as it should ONLY be seen when someone sends in a form, and it should NEVER be accessible any other way, such as by a menu.

If I turn "Edit Together" OFF on the MAIN menu, and then select the unwanted sub-menu, and turn off "Show Label" then ALL LABELS in the ENTIRE MENU disappear. :-( All I want to do is turn OFF the email response page, in the sub-menus. Is this possible in Muse?

Also, is there any way to make the sub-menus STACK VERTICALLY, instead of appearing horizontally only after you click on one of the submenu items? This current behavior is REALLY AWEFUL.

(I tried to figure out "manual" menus, but found them to be VERY confusing! To rebuild the entire menu manually would be an unwanted hairball! - and I sincerely hope that's NOT the solution to my problem. If it is, I'll need to know HOW to build manual menus in such a way as to NOT include some "hidden" pages in sub-menus.)

Find Hidden Items!

So far in Muse, I have spent MANY hours searching for items that are "invisible."

The worst case was an 8-slide hero-style slide show (tooltip widget), where after moving all 8 slides to the tablet version of the site (images, type, resizing type, relinking to tablet version, etc., etc.), I was UNABLE to make the composition fit the space, and this completely RUINED the slide show for the tablet version. I must have clicked thousands of times, trying to FIND the offending empty box that was not allowing me to reduce the original size of the composition. -- This meant clicking many, MANY times on EACH slide!

On the THIRD DAY of clicking everywhere, I finally found it. (I had a victory party!)

Victory party notwithstanding, this was a HUGE waste of time!

Wouldn't it be AWESOME if there was one simple command to SHOW ALL ITEM EDGES? -- It could be called "show hidden items," or "show unused items."

Small thing: selecting typeface pops you out of text mode

I have a multi-paragraph column of copy, and I need subheads in bold. While in text-edit mode I select the text to be made bold and change the typeface, selecting the typeface drop-down menu, scrolling to the desired face, and navigating to the right, selecting its bold weight. At this point, Muse leaves text-editing, where arrow keys "should" scroll through text. But arrow keys now MOVE THE TEXT BOX instead. (Muse has gone from the text tool to the ARROW, while editing text.)

When selecting typefaces for live text, Must should STAY in text-editing mode.

Erroneous "Unsampled" Warning.

Muse v. 7.1, Build 329, CL 778884

Air Runtime: 3.9.0.1210

I placed a large jpeg in my Muse file (1430 x 5473). When it placed, it came in at 50% original size. So I resized it in Muse to 200% of the placed size, or 100% the original image size. (Muse now says it's at 100%.)

Now I'm getting this warning, everytime I open the file, and everytime I publish an update:

There is NO indication ANYWHERE in Muse as to WHICH image this warning is triggering. I'm only guessing which image it is because of the weird 50%-size way Muse placed the image originally, as outlined above. There is really no way to fix this by resizing the file, or by right-clicking on it. There are NO warnings or apparent fixes available for ANY image in the Assets panel.

The entire site and this page in particular perform perfectly in browser, tablet, and phone, once published.

I think this warning is a bug of some kind, possibly an erroneous import-size threshhold being supposedly violated?

Hero Slide Show Hell

I used the tooltip widget to create a nice "hero slide show." The desktop version works as desired. But when attempting to reduce the SIZE of the slideshow for the tablet version, I run into a killer problem:

I have 8 slides, each with photo, text, and links. It takes about 30-45 minutes to select each element (copied from the desktop version) and individually resize them all (including type sizes, etc.) for the smaller tablet size. But once I do all this, the COMPOSITION SIZE remains too large, and this RUINS the slideshow. I can attempt to drag the right and bottom edges into the tablet space, but they only SNAP BACK to the original size of the composition.

Now I know there can be hidden items in those outer areas, but I've searched and searched all EIGHT slides, and have found NOTHING. Unfortunately, you can't just drag over areas; you must click in ALL blank areas, and HOPEFULLY you'll find the offending object, if it exists.

Is there any way to SHOW HIDDEN ITEMS? (If indeed that is the problem - I really don't think it is, as I've already clicked about 2 million times looking for something hidden.)

Is there any way to resize the compopsition to the needed size?

Unexpectedly, no CC apps will run

When I run Photoshop, I get a dialog saying there is a problem, and I must update Appliction Manager. I do this immediately. But Photoshop still won't run. I get the same dialog telling me I need to update Application Manager.

I've updated Application Manager THREE TIMES, but this circle of doom continues.

No CC apps will run. — Correction: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Edge Animate will not run. Bridge, After Effects, Media Encoder, Audition, and Muse run just fine. But I'm stuck until I can get Photoshop and Illustrator running again!!!

Thinking maybe if I reinstall Photoshop it will run, I attempted to UNINSTALL it but it gives me the same Update App Mgr dialog! So I can't even uninstall the offending apps. :-(

Muse Questions

I'm completely new to Muse, so here goes:

1a. Is there a User Guide for Muse? (I really don't like watching video tutorials.) 1b. If no manual yet, WHEN?

2. How can I place a movie file in Muse?

3. There seems to be a 1-pixel black line around all my images when placed in Muse. How do I get rid of this unwanted line?

... Many more questions to come ... :+)

At first glance, Muse seems (to me) to be a nice idea in development, rather than a real asset for designers who don't want to use code. But that's just a first impression, and I hope it will change as I learn more about Muse. A User Manual would be a good start. But maybe there's just not that much to talk about yet ... ??

"Download Error" in CC App

When I run the CC App, under "Apps" there is a large WARNING SYMBOL, followed by the words, "Download Error."

I am given the option to "Download Creative Cloud," which I have done twice, uninstalling it, and re-installing it each time. However, the warning persists.

Please help.

I attempted to "chat" with CC Support, but the chat widget is broken. It tells me that agents are available, but clicking on "Start Chat" only reloads my initial query. It is impossible to actually CHAT with an agent.

So I'm stuck.

BC Form in Muse site email doesn't send everything in the form!

I've created a web form on Business Catalyst. I added the form to a web page already published (as a site in dev) on Business Catalyst. I copied the HTML and inserted it into the site's contact page in Muse, and re-publish the site. So far so good ...

But when I go to the live contact page and fill out the form, the email it sends has only PART of what is in the form. All the critically-important checkbox lists are MISSING in the email.

My suspicion is this:

Business Catalyst keeps logging me out, after only a few minutes. (This happens repeatedly.) Unfortunately, when I sign back in to Business Catalyst, my web form, although still there on Business Catalyst, now has TWO image verifications, and is MISSING all the checkbox list items not included in the email sent by the form when submitted. :-( I've been through this frustrating procedure three times in a row so far today ...

Is this problem somehow related to server maintenance? HOW can I stay logged into Business Catalyst long enough to keep the form changes I'm making repeatedly, so the email sent after submit has ALL the necessary information, and the ENTIRE form will be there when I return to Business Catalyst?

Trouble with Business Catalyst FORM in Muse

I created a contact form at Business Catalyst, added it there to a published web page, copied the HTML, and inserted the HTML in Muse.

I placed the HTML on its own layer, and positioned it on the contact page, then edited it for style. This is what it looks like in Muse (image is cropped):

It looks identical when you Preview the page in Muse.

However, when I publish the site, the form is no longer on the top layer (but underneath the menu -a master page item- which in Muse is on a lower layer than the form); the form itself is positioned at 0,0 on the page, OUTSIDE the page boundary as specified in Muse, and all other page elements (except the master page items) are moved below the form vertically, but not together as designed in Muse: most (but not all) of them are stacked vertically at the bottom of the page.

In other words, the entire page layout is destroyed.

Here is what the published page looks like (image is cropped - upper-left corner is shown):

Business Catalyst thinks I deleted my web form

I thought I may have found a way around Muse's weak forms implementation, by creating a web form on Business Catalyst > Site Manager > Web Forms.

I created a web form, set the email response, copied the html, inserted the HTML on a Muse page, published the site, filled out the form, and got this:

So I went back to the same page on Business Catalyst, deleted the web form I just made minutes ago, created it AGAIN from scratch, inserted the HTML in my Muse page, published it, filled out the form, and got the SAME ERROR message a second time.

I did not delete the form, but Business Catalyst thinks I did. :-(

How do I get around this "error of an ERROR?"

I noticed that there are THREE forms on BC with similar names (I only made ONE). To be sure that I'm working in the correct form, I COPIED it -- it now has the same name as before, plus the word "Copy." But when I open the copied form, all the fields are in the wrong order. I tried this several times, and this weirdness is consistent. Right now I'm really stumped on getting a decent (customized) form in Muse.

Phone is loading the DESKTOP site only (business catalyst)

I've been working all day on a phone version of this site. Suddenly, my phone only loads the desktop site.

I cleared the cache in my phone browser (proof: I have to type in the entire URL), and uploaded ALL files (as opposed to only modified files), but neither of these things has helped. My phone browser is STILL loading the desktop site version.

WHY? and HELP?

Adapting my browser site design to a PHONE

I'm just wondering what the best strategy is for adapting an existing desktop site design to a phone layout in Muse.

In the first place, the default phone layout in Muse is vertical. I think I look at the internet on my phone about 99.9% of the time in horizontal. A horizontal phone layout far better matches the typical desktop layout, and it just seems more ergonomic somehow. For this reason, I tend to dislike phone apps that don't adapt to the horizontal format.

So I adjusted Muse's page properties to be horizontal. But now my site looks ridiculous (microscopic actually) in vertical.

There is no "preview in phone" command in Muse, so in order to test layout strategies, I've had to publish my site over and over (and over and over), in order to see it on my phone.

And most importantly, since Muse can't do % scaling, but is rather stuck in hard pixel measurements, you really have to create EVERYTHING over again for the phone design. Wow.

Is there a resource somewhere that can give me a leg up on adapting my desktop site design to a phone version? Or can the experts among us shed some time-saving wisdom on what appears at the moment to be a very tedious job ahead of me?

Detailed Contact Form: EASILY BROKEN?

I needed to replace the "Name" field with "First Name" and "Last Name" fields. But nothing I've tried so far has worked.

1. If I add two new single-line text "custom fields" for "First Name" and "Last Name," they appear at the BOTTOM of the response email (no matter WHERE I place them on the page), with either nothing in them (even though the custom fields WERE filled out properly), or strangely, they may appear TWICE (and sometimes THREE TIMES), once with the response and once blank, or 2 out of 3 blank. -- This mess is what my CLIENT will see!

Worse yet, the "Name" field apparently CANNOT BE DELETED OR CHANGED in its functionality -- the title can be changed to "First Name," but in the response email, it will read as "Name." So there is no point in adding two custom fields, since the NAME field will always be present.

2. On my second try, instead of adding two custom fields, I changed the "Name" label to "First Name," and I added one "custom" single-line field for "Last Name." But the custom field appears at the bottom of the response email. That is less than ideal, but it appears multiple times ( ! ) with two out of three of them BLANK.

Needless to say, the response email is a MESS.

So ... HOW do I adjust the detailed contact form to NOT put first and last names in the stock "Name" field, but actually have the first and last names appear in their own fields, REPLACING the stock "Name" field? And is it possible to make the response email anything but an embarrassment to the designer?

If this is not possible in Muse, please let me know, and I'll tell my client that first and last name fields cannot be accommodated in Muse.

(attached are screenshots of the form itself as filled out, and the corresponding response email.)

Now for the killer prblem:

If when in the web page, I enter the wrong Image Verification, the error shows up, but you CANNOT re-enter the form! You can try and try, but NOTHING HAPPENS. The page must be RELOADED in order to re-enter the Image Verification correctly. I actually added this to the error message (reload the page, and all your info will still be there). But the deal-breaker is that the added CUSTOM field (LAST Name in this case) is now BLANK upon reloading, and there is NO error message, even though the field is REQUIRED. So if you make a mistake somewhere, the LAST Name is simply NOT CAPTURED.

My conclusion is that unless you use the Detailed Contact Form as it is originally designed, it will be BROKEN.

I sincerely hope the Muse team will address these issues soon.

If anyone has advice for me on these issues, I am listening! :+)

Form Field Input Order when Tabbing

Is there any way to control the order the input fields are presented to the user when they navigate through the detailed contact form using tab? After redesigning the form to fit my page, tabbing through just jumps all over the place.

Horizontal Alignment Issue

I'm in my fifth day with Muse, and I must say that for a designer like me, Muse is pretty awesome! My congrats to the Muse team.

The problem I'm having has to do with one of 7 pages (containing a detailed contact form) that jogs itself a few pixels to the left when you choose that page from the menu. The site is set to center horizontally. Nothing on the page extends beyond the Master page, either right or left. All the other pages register perfectly with one another. This "jog" happens on this page only in both browser preview and when uploaded to business catalyst.

I've tried playing around with footer designations, and pinning things. But ... removing the footer designation from my form causes the page size to expand downward vertically in an unacceptable way. Pinning the email form seems to work in preview, but not when the site is uploaded.

I suspect the real issue is with the detailed contact form itself: I've learned so far to religiously keep everything I don't want to extend beyond the default page size WITHIN the master page size. (I'm working with 1366x786). Unfortunately, after adjusting the detailed form to fit my design, the form itself has become 984 tall (taller than my Master page), and there appears to be NO WAY to adjust all that "blank space" below the visible and functional portion of the redesigned form. Unfortunately, the form's Width and Height input fields are greyed out. I suspect that this vertically enlarged form space is what is causing my problem with left-jogging that page.

1. Is there any way to adjust the extended-and-unneeded form size to fit within my Master page, other than creating the form all over again?

2. Is this enlarged form area a detailed contact form BUG?

I ran Muse today, and was informed that there is a new version. But as a CC member, Adobe Application Manager says it's "up to date."

Ps CC plug-in: Nik/Google HDR Efex Pro 2 - Deadly Problem

I know this is the Photoshop forum, but Google has no user forum for the Nik Software Photoshop-plug-in products Google recently acquired.

Nik's HDR Efex Pro 2 is a great piece of software, but as of today, it crashes on load, then brings Photoshop CC (v. 14.1.1 x64 on Mac OS X 10.8.4) to its knees as well. :-(

I visited the Nik support page, and did everything it suggested, including disabling any GPU processing, via altering the HDR Efex Pro 2 .cgf file. - No joy.

I am basically stuck with a GREAT little $100 piece of software that no longer works. Any ideas?

Illustrator CC Plugins: CC DEVELOPER TOOLS?

I just had a nerve-wracking experience.

I've used FontAgent Pro (Mac OS X 10.8.4) for years, and have come to depend on its exellent font management capabilities. But today, I began to have trouble with a particular font. The font is in perfect condition (no errors reported or repairs needed - it displays perfectly in the Finder) but even though it was activated like all my other active fonts, Illustrator CC couldn't SEE it, so I couldn't USE it.

I restarted the computer, but this didn't help. Then Ilustrator began bombing (with the full error log), and it became impossible to run Illustrator CC at all.

So I uninstalled Illustrator CC, and downloaded it again and installed it again. But it still crashed on app start. :-(

So I decided to run it from my bootable backup drive, and it ran FINE. At this point, I ran it again from my primary boot drive and it ran FINE. Go figure.

In the mean time, I contacted Insider Software (makers of FontAgent Pro and plugins for Adobe apps), to see if they were working on an update to be more compatible with Creative Cloud apps. They are, BUT ... apparently Adobe hasn't released the "CC" DEVELOPER TOOLS yet, so they CANNOT finish their "CC" update of this indispensible plug-in.

Um, what's going on, Adobe???

How do I render m2v from AE CC?

According to http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaencoder.html Adobe Media Encoder is part of CC. But it's not in my list of downloadable apps in Creative Cloud.

Please advise?

I'm attempting to update Premier Pro for CS6 (bug fixes), but it won't update: it wants me to close "dynamiclinkmanager." No other apps are open, and I've never HEARD of dynamiclinkmanager before. Mac OS 10.8.4

All of a sudden, AI CC won't run - quits unexpectedly

Mac OS X 10.8.4, 6 TB disc space, 18 GB RAM. On attempting to run AI CC today, all I get is the long crash report titled, "Adobe Illustrator CC quit unexpectedly."

I ran AI CC yesterday with no problems. I need to run it again today to continue working on a project.

In using Illustrator since v. 0.9b, this is the FIRST TIME EVER that Illustrator has hung on start for me.

WHAT GIVES? HELP?

After updating "Adobe Application Manager," it just SITS THERE.

I got the email saying there are CC updates, so I booted "Application Manager" and it was updated, with a (long) new license agreement. In order to READ that agreement, I copied it to a text file, to make it possible to scroll through everything (the original license window is WAY too SMALL). When I did this, Application Manager quit on its own. Now after reading the license agreement, I booted Application Manager a second time, but it just sits there (for 15 minutes so far), and never goes past the "spinning icon."

I can see what's under Behance, Fonts, and Files, but neither Apps nor Home does ANYTHING except spin the icon.

What is going on? If Application Manager is broken, HOW do I get updates?

I hit the little pencil icon for a color theme, and type in a new theme name. But it just snaps back to "My Kuler Theme".

I see other people have renamed this default theme name. But HOW???

I ran Application Manager and downloaded After Effects CC first. But my OSX system is 10.6.8. So it won't run. (Minimum 10.7 I believe.)

Then after I rebooted App Mgr (and it was updated), After Effects CC is no longer in my list. This might explain why many 10.6.8 users didn't find AE in their new CC list.

Time for some OS upgrades. :+)

Printing good color from ai is not possible here

When I print RGB documents from AI CS6 (and earlier ai versions as well) to an Epson Photo 2200, the color is wrong. In order to print decent color, I must copy the ai files to Photoshop (at 300+ dpi) and print from there. Only then is the color good (as expected). I am using Adobe RGB (1998) as my document color space, and being very careful to allow ai/ps to manage color, matching the driver with the proper print speed, stock, etc, using Epson's paper-specific ICC profiles for each print.

This is an ongoing problem. What is it about the way ai sends color to a printer that is so "wrong?" Thanks.

Illustrator CS5 "dotted line" bug (???)

What's happened to Illustrator's "dotted line" function? It sems to be broken ... :-(

Prior to CS5, I could always get a nice PREDICTABLE dotted line with "round" line-ends by specifying ".01 points" (as close to zero as possible) for the dash (which makes a circle [because of the rounded-end choice] at the dimension of the line-width), and a reasonable GAP length, such as the equivalent of the line WIDTH, or a little bit more.

But currently, this seems impossible. What I get is NOTHING like the original dotted line in all earlier versions of Illustrator. Talk about FRUSTRATING! - Is this is BUG?

... Or is there some kind of work-around?

P.S. Also, once you put a value in the second "dash" field, YOU CAN'T GET RID OF IT, which REALLY screws up your dotted line even more. :-(

Adobe Help Manager Issue

Whenever I update local out-of-date help files using Adobe Help Manager, they download fine. But then up comes a small dialog saying, "Please wait while the downloaded files are extracted. Extracting large files may take several minutes."

I've let that thing sit there chugging away for two days, and it never goes away, or extracts any files. All I can do is close the dialog and quit. This, of course, leaves me with no new help files. :-(

Adobe Help Manager Version 4.0.0244 (it says AHM is up to date.) - MacOS 10.6.8 - 1.5 TB disk space available.
