Formatted text file Into TextMember with Scrolling... Problem.

Hi,

I have this script which works OK but...

member("MyTEXT").importFileInto("mytext.rtf")

It preserves the RTF word format, but the scrolling disappears.

Is there any solution to this? I want to have a external RTF file that when imported into a text member with scrolling, it preserves its formatting

without messing up the text member.

Hi,

Is there a way to trigger an action when the restore (normal) button on a window is pressed?

I tested on restoreWindow, but that doesn't work.

rightMouseUp mystery...

Hi,

Is there any script that I can use to void, null, neutralize the rightMouseUp and rightMouseDown.

Inexplicably, when I right click on the projector, this mysteriously jump to another frame.

I don't have any script with rightMouseUp or rightMouseDown.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

I'm trying to get the highest and the next to the highest locV on sprites from 509 to 518, but I don't have an idle idea on how to write this script.

These sprites are moving up and down and I want to get the highest and the next to the highest. I have also noticed that the highest the location (locV) the smallest the number. So what we are looking here is the smallest and the next to the smallest locV numbers.

Please, help me.

I have used spriteNum, sprite, channel, etc with reapeat with, but nothing works.

Hi, This is what we use to import a file into a member.

member(512).importFileInto "C:\Folder\filename.wav"

For what I see, this does a "Standard Import." What would be the parameters to do

a "Link To External File Import?"

Hi, I'm on Director MX2004, and I'm testing a little application that I'm putting together. It's an audio player and when it's running for 20 minutes or so, it stops and a pop window opens with the following message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application’s support team for more information. Does anybody know what could be causing this issue? Is there a way to find out and solve it? Thanks.

Hi,

Is anybody here using or ever used AmplitudePro Xtra?

In the user guide they say you can have external audio file, but they never

explain any line of code on how to setup that.

I have noticed that audio load as a member consumes memory and crash

the program.

I'm testing this xtra for an audio app that I'm working on before I buy it,

and I'm using it to set VU meters, getting amplitude for left and right

audio channel.

Is there any other method to get right-left audio level(amplitude) in director

without using an xtra? I'm still using MX2004.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

First, this was written in Macromedia.Director.MX.2004. Now, trying to make an upgrade to 11.5 when I saved and run this, it says it can't divide by zero and the line

it points out is "percentPlayed = pCurrentTime / float(pDuration)"

This script is a moving bar in a audio player as a curret time indicator.

As we all know the soundLevel ranges from 0 to 7. Is there a way to modify that so increments be .5 intead of 1?

That way it'll be 14 step of levels.

I have done this, but it says it's incorrect:

This works OK:

on mouseUp

open "MyApp.exe"

end

But this does not.

on mouseUp

open "MyApp.msi"

end

Is there any other way to launch MSI in director?

Fonts Don't Embed In Protected Movies...

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone here had that problem and a possible solution.

When I protect the dir, embedded fonts don't work. In other words, they don't seem

to embed in the protected drx.

I'm still using Director MX 2004 10.1

Is there any other update that I missed beyond 10.1 and if so, where

can I download it?

I'm still using Director 10.

I'm wondering if there's out there any audio xtra that let you play FLAC audio format.

I have an old xtra to play OGG, but I've been looking for one to play FLAC or APE.

I know Director is not as popular as it used to be a few years ago. People are not

longer making xtra's; many forums shut down. Is Director dying?

Hi,
I have this to find if a folder exists:

MyPath = "C:\MyFolder"
fxObj.fx_FolderExists(MyPath)
put value(fxObj.fx_FolderExists(MyPath))
fxObj = 0
------------------------------------------
This returns 1 if the folder exists and 0 if it doesn't.

------------------------------------------------------------------
My problem is when I want to check in a server:

MyPath = "\\MyServer\MyFolder"
fxObj.fx_FolderExists(MyPath)
put value(fxObj.fx_FolderExists(MyPath))
fxObj = 0

This always returns 0 even if "MyFolder" exists.

Is there a way I can test this for a server without entering
a drive letter? I mean just as above, which is a path of a shared
folder...

I have a small application where an alert window gives the following options: "Save", "Discard", and "Cancel".

How can I have an option in the script that the program closes when "Save" or "Discard" is clicked after previously clicking the closing button?

In other words, how can I track the last sprite clicked?

Cue Point To Load A New Movie...

Hi,
I'm a graphic designer. Actionscript is arcana for me now. It has changed over time and I haven't had time to upgrade.
I would really appreciate a simple script that load another flv when the current finish playing. I know this done by adding a cue point at the end of the video, but even though I have tried, I don't seem to find a way to do this.
Please, can someone give me a simple scrip that I have to change only the name of the movie or tell me where I can find a simple tutorial that teaches me how to do this?

Key Code F10

Hi,
According to Director TechNote #14590 the Code that corresponds to Key F10 is 109.
Something is wrong with that... when assigned it doesn't do anything. It seems that
the Code 109 does not correspond to Key F10.
If anybody here have an explanation for this I would be very grateful

Hi
I have this buttom script to position a window relative to the stage.

on mouseUp
global MyWindow,

The problem is that the window keeps opening in the center of the stage.
What am I doing wrong?

I was just wondering when it will be the next version of Director.
I would like to use LDM without all the problems that it involves now.
What's the use of making a movie with all buttons and scripts to be used as a LDM if you have to change a lot of things
that will not work, like button events...etc. most of the time this doesn't make any sense at all, because it's really hard
to solve a problem that you don't even know what it is all about.
It will be a great if the next generation of DIRECTOR has all these issues about LDM solved.
