How would you redirect from secure domain following CLEAR CART option

I am aware of the javascript we can place into the receipt page to redirect from the secure domain back to your standard domain after completing an order that was in the old knowledgebase (if anyone can point ut where this resource is in the newhelp documentation please share...!) but what I am wanting is to achieve same result after a user clears the cart.

The problem occurs if the customer purchases goods and goes through the checkout process to land on the Buy Registration page (which is now on the secure domain) and they then decide to cancel their order by returning to the checkout using the View Cart link in the shopping cart summary, they will do so from a secure domain. BC then displays a message saying "Shopping cart is empty. Go Back" however this is also on a secure domain. I can't find what controls this display by way of any system page into which I could insert the javascript.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to overcome this issue I have.

This has been an issue for some while now and I have just today been advised by support that this is a known bug.

For anyone else's reference as I could find none myself, this is already identified as a bug and is currently in the list of bugs to be fixed. The bug number is 3697491.

How would you (if possible) display the product price based on purchase qty

BC provides for multiple prices based on the quantity purchased but I see no way to update that price per unit based on the customer entering a purchase qty that puts them in a discounted price break.

Is this possible and if so can someone provide the answer to doing this please? I can understand that we have to show an initial price based on a single item but it seems strange that we have no way of informing the customer of what the price is until they get to the checkout if they are buying discounted products due to volume breaks.

Preview Page Templates on Firefox not working if off https domains...

I thought it was me just losing it after a very long day but it has been confirmed with that if you are in BC via the worldsecuresystems domain and choose to preview a page template then it won't dislpay correctly. Previewing pages is fine.

Thanks to the investigations by Abhishek Maurya on the chat support he identified that Firefox is blocking the non secure content on the page, http://prntscr.com/3ezuxr which is knd of important.

The problem does not occur in IE at least.

Enhancing CRM Import to enable deletion of Contacts

Apart from the number of requests to have a CRM export option that exports all the data in the same format as the import template which is kind of a pretty basic requirement long overdue, a constant issue I face is the fact that unlike the Products import function, there is no ability to actually import a list of CRM records you wish to DELETE.

In view of the fact that you may have thousands of unwanted spam entries in yru CRM, cleaning up the CRM is a nightmare for any decent sized client.

We don't seem to hear any news on what enhancements are being considered or when they can be expected on the CRM and the lack of functionality around the export and import features must be an issue for so many.

Are there any plans around such updates?

Is BC supporting 3D Secure and /or Recurring Payments in SecurePay (AU) yet?

There seems to be a serious lag between the payment gateway providers and BC. With ever increasing concerns and cases of online fraud, many banks are now instsiting on 3D Secure implemenation yet there is no info as to whether BC is updating any of its payment gateways to conincide with the gateway features available.

Any word on this for Securepay in Australia?

Can anyone assist with a report that extracts the External ID field in the CRM

I have a membership system where the client has imported 3600+ records some of which had the Eternal ID ('Your ID field on the import file) set and some don't.

The trouble is I need to update all the CRM records and can't import the changes as I don't know what the original external id value is. Business Catalyst support advised that they can't include this field in any report (don't get me started on that...) and I am now desperately in need of some way to get that data which is on the file and is critical to any further updates via the import files. I would delete all the records and start again except that there is no bulk delete option in BC CRM - yes you can do it in products but not CRM or Web Apps...!!! The only option available in BC is to delete one screen list at a time but then I have the issue that this matter does not relate to all CRM records - only those whio are members of a secure zone.

My need is urgent so any assistance free or otherwise would be approeciated and the solution needs to be one that enables me to run such an export on an irregular basis.

Export to Excel from Reports produces corrupt file format

Whenever I choose to export to excel results of custom reports I am unable to open the file as I am told the file format is corrupt. The contents show as containing xml data and even changing the extension from xls to xml does not get me anywhere.

If I save the report and then download I am still informed the file format does not match the extension but the fie will open in Excel.

Has anyone set up a Paypal account that is shared with another non-BC website or eBay shop

I am needing to set up Paypal on a 2nd site for 2 separate clients. Both new sites are on the BC platform using the standard Paypal options in eCommerce thus requiring me to set in the website preferences in Paypal the return url address.

My issue is that one of these clients has another website taking Paypal payments and the other client has an eBay shop paying through Paypal.

I am trying to understand how I can set up the BC sites payment gateway in view of the fact that we need to set the return URL address in the Payal preferences which of course is no good for the other sites sharing this same Paypal account.

Has anyone done anything similar and if so can you tell me how I should go about it preferebly without having to create an additional Paypal account.

BC support could not help out and advised contacting Paypal who were quick to tell me it is all in the email acocunt I use until I expalined we use the API setting a return URL. I am now searching for a practical solution.

Is there any way to find out what the Ext Id is that is assigned to CRM records

Whilst there is a lot of confusion as to when and where you use this field and what is the unique record key for some, I have understood that however what I am wanting to find is excatly what is the external ID that was assigned to the CRM record when it was first imported. I can't find any report or other means for getting this info and without it I can't re-import record updates.

A method for resolving the issues with CRM updates would simply be if the CRM module provided the following

An export facility as in the Web Apps and Products to simply export the full record with all fields in the same order as required for import
The ability to attach to that export a slected extended CRM layout
That he export record also included as the first field the BC CRM ID (this is the one thing we know to be unique no matter what)

With the above and changes to the import to reference the CRM ID (for existing records) we would indeed be able to apply email address updates to existing records via batch import.

This seems to be a rather obviuous and simple solution unless I am overlooking something. At present the CRM export / import functions are a serious weakness for large database updates and not having the ability to also import bulk deletes is a major drawback on our ability to maintain and manage the CRM integrity. As it stands, if you have been hit by spammers and have hundreds or thousands of delinquent entries in yoru CRM then you have no choice but to leave them in place and if you used a form that by default subscribes them to your mail list - I gave up on that.

My last comment relates to the data pass that is done as part of the import - is it not possible to report on all records that will fail to be imported instead of one at a time? If you want to reduce the load on teh system having a single pass to list all errors and list this so you can read it before the error message fades before your eyes would not be an unreasoonable request. I loath facing imports for this very reason.

Please BC - when are you going to get around to correcting this major shortcoming in a critical aspect of the solutions we deliver.

Generate Workflow / Case on CRM Updates by logged in users

I have a secured member based site where the members can update their personal profile details via a CRM update form. What I want is the ability to generate a workflow and case against that member anytime they UPDATE their CRM details directing the workflow back to the administartion staff for further actioning.

Now I know we can't attach workflows and cases to a CRM update form but I do know that by creating a hidden form within the same page I could pass the basic member details across t that form which in itself would hav a case and workflow attached - this would at least enable the administration staff to get notification that the they need to follow up on a member updating their details.

My problem is that I do not know how to actually achieve this. Can someone point me in the right direction understanding I am "technially challenged" when it come to javascript so don't assume anything there.

Blog post editor missing insert table button

Why has the "insert table" button gone missing form the menu bar for blog posts? If you manually insert a table the table properties fucntion shows up but the ability to insert is just not there

I have a blog with some 38 posts in it yet when I view the RSS feed url I only see 16 of the posts. Stangely if I show this feed in Google Reader it will show all the posts but viewing the RSS feed directly in any browsershows any more than the 16.

I am wanting to show all so I can export the xml file to Wordpress blog for all my posts and then reimport back into a new BC blog.

I have checked the RSS items and confirmed that all the posts are included in this RSS feed.

A question that I have been long plagued with is what the different arguments to the action URL arguments all mean and what are the values you can set against them. This is typically shown on most standard web forms and varies from one form to the next but generally yuo see...

How to force a shopping cart to Quote only

My client has a wide range of prouct items of varying sizes and weights (75gms to 80Kgs) and sometimes the shipping rates facility just doen't suffice as the destinations on large items can be all over Australia. We are trying to figure out how we can in some way set the system to identify that if certain items are in the order then the customer has no choice but to request a quote and NOT place an order.

I am sure I am not alone in this situation so am wondering how others have resolved this - if indeed it is resolveable...

Setting up initial recurring membership database

I have a problem regarding establshing a new membership website form an existing database of over 1000 members split across half dozen different membership classifications and I would be interested to hear how I tackle this matter.

Each membership level has a different price so am considering setting the memberships up as either

individual products for each membership class with prices set rather than charging for the secure zone as we have to raise manual invoices for new members joining par the way through the year who will be charged pro-rata, or
setting up a secure zone for each classification with separate prices and a common 'member' zone that all belong to as well which would be used to control access to the common member aeas of the site

Following Option 2

Choice (2) is relatively easy if I understand BC correctly in that as I import the existing members into the CRM I include them into the relevant secure zones and set their expiry date as being the common membership renewal date.The memberships are all renewed on the same date in the year. We are putting the new website together and need to take up the existing members.

Quest 1: Am I correct in understanding that BC will generate a new invoice to all members 2 weeks prior to the secure zone expiry. As we don't have their credit card details we will have to direct them for their first renewal to a link to sign up to that secure zone again based on their existing CRM details. Will this then kick off the recurring payments from that year on?

Following Option 1

This provides a simpler secure zone management but leads to the problem of how do we generate the automatic invoices 2 weeks prior to the membership renewal date?

As we don't have a recurring order against these members there is no trigger for recurring invoices to be generated.

Quest 2: Is there any way that you can pre-load a recurring order against a list of CRM customers (in our case 1000+) without doing this one by one per customer?

Quest 3: Assuming we can pre-load the orders how do we handle that initial renewal of membership where it is against a recurring product item when we don't have any existing credit card details?

The answer to Quest 2 may force my hand here but I thought it worth exporing some of the great ideas that this Forum produces and someone may suggest an approach that i have not considered.

Not displaying an image field if image not selected

I have a web app that has an image field that may or may not have the photo selected. I am trying to hide the DIV element that includes the photo if the photo is not present.

I found some jquery code that is supposed to achieve this for me but can't get it to work.

My DIV in the detailed web app layout is

At the end of the layout I have the following code

However my DIV remain viewable - see example of app item with no image at http://panelfab.com.au/product-profile/product-1 where you can see that the description is still indented by the DIV to hold the photo. I don't want this essentially I want the DIV to act same as display: none condition.

Am I actually using the correct code or is it just that I have overlooked something?

How to search Products based on content of Custom 1 and Custom 2 fields

I have a client who has only 6 products but each product has 30 colour and 6 size variations (for each colour of each prdouct) thus creating 1080 separate prdoucts which all need to be sold be individual product codes and with managing inventory levels.

What we want to do is to give users a search facility that once they select the main product they can choose the colour and the size (as would be set in the custom 1 and custom 2 fields to present the desired product for purchase.

Anyone got any idea whether this is possible in BC and if so how to achieve this?

Whilst not for the clothing idnustry this requirement is common for any busienss in that industry so a solution would be very appealing tomany people I am sure.

How do I add users into roles if their email is externally hosted

Under V3 I have a new site where they use eternal email service but I want to add users emails into the roles so they will rceive notifications stemming formthe workflows, Under V3 you can't seem to to this. Can someone please point me in the right direction for this. I know there was a notice about the new email and user arrangements but I can't seem to find this.

I notice there is a new field called "Webform Security" which inserts { module_ccsecurity ] into the form code but I have no idea what this is for and there is no reference to this module in the knowledgebase.

Can anyone offer some details?
