Stop recurring orders sending out invoices (invoices go from Quickbooks - not BC)

Our client needs to create subscription orders in BC against a client, these recur once a month. BC automatically creates and emails an invoice against these orders. However the client wants to use Quickbooks for their accounts to create and send the actual invoice, and BC simply as a CRM system. BC is automatically creating and sending invoices every month for the clients against the order raised in BC - effectively duplicate invoices of the Quickbooks invoice - which we do not want to have sent out.

Can the automated invoicing be switched off in BC or is there a way around this.

Neal

Can I display user specific web app data based on their login to a generic secure zone

I would like to get some ideas on the best approach to handle the following scenario.

We have around 100 clients subscribing to a survey service. The surveys are created and hosted on another system which are simply a link click away. That part is simple.

The business need to view responses as follows:

The client should login on the BC site, arrive at a BC landing page displaying the surveys he has commissioned, click on the link (there could be one or many) and views the survey responses on the third party survey system.

This feels like we are going to finish up with a secure zone for each client or is there a way of simply presenting client specific (and secure) Web app data based on their login to a single secure zone where the web app resides.

This would mean we can set the client up in a web app very simply and make admin much easier.

Using ecommerce in Web Apps

I am building a site that sells training courses. The functionality of the ecommerce module does everything I need to allow me to bulk upload courses, edit them and for people to access the catalogs and select courses, so no problem there.

However I need to have a feature that allows people searching for courses to enter their city and have the search results displayed in a proximity search fashion.

So, enter 'Accident prevention course' search and say there are 10 hits, and the 10 hits needs to listed in terms of nearest to furthest, the client can choose the one he wants and click add to cart from teh same page.

The searches will only be on products in the site.

I cannot see how I can combine catalog / product listing with the web app proximity search.

Has anyone done this?

Link web apps to product checkout

Very simple.

The web app is recording the course the person chooses and adding it to his personal record which is great. The training company knows which course he has booked and so it all works fine.

I need to have a 'buy now' button from the course selection page within the web app. So, the person chooses the course in the web app, clicks 'book now' and he is taken to the commerce functions of the shopping cart, carrying over the product code he chose in the web app.

It could just be late and Im tired, but how do I do that? How do I tie together the web apps product training course item and link it to the Products and catalogs, thence to the shopping cart?

Why is BC email so unreliable?

Its almost as if email is running on a batch basis and you are lucky to catch it just in time for the next cycle. This is actually a real problem.

Does anyone else have this issue? If so what are BC doing about it, it is pretty basic and fundamental technology now after all. Doing a demo is no fun when an enquiry form response arrives after I have left the site an hour later!
