white text not showing in InContext editor, its appears invisible as it camouflages on white bg

Hi All,

My client is busy editing their site but we have run into an issue when using the InContext editor. The editable regions have been set up but if they contain white text, the text is invisible as it camouflages on the white background of the editor.

It's an easy fix. I have taught my client how to edit the pages directly and they suggested that they can temporarily highlight text and change it's colour for editing purposes and then change it back to white when finished but it would be really great if this was fixed. If it's a coding issue on my end please let me know and I will fix immediately.

Here's an example where the InContext editor fails: Home | Crossroads Care if you scroll down to the middle of the page you will see a div with a blue background titled "Are you a Carer?" here the text is white. Normally ICE will strip the formatting making it easy to edit but in the example it strips formatting but the text remains white.

ICE is there a way to allow my client to make External URLs open in new tabs?

Hi.

I have a set my client's site up with lots of editable regions so they can manage content. Although the InContext editor is great for letting my client link to internal pages, documents and external pages I couldn't find where they would select the external URL to open in a new browser tab. Obviously I can go back in and add the html to their links but is there a way they can set the target?

Can I reverse my blog output

Hi All.

Is there any way to reverse the output of my blog? I would like the oldest articles to display first and then delete them as and when they happen. I know I can go back in an manually weight them all but if there was a way to set this up automatically it would be fantastic and it would make a really easy to use system for my client.

I have set the blogs up so the client can load new events. It would nice if the newer events were loaded to the end of the blog output and older events were to rise to the top. Then when the event has happened we can delete it revealing the next event.

I hope this makes sense? I know it's backwards but it would be amazing if I could get it to work!

ICE links, clickable and editable

Hi All,

I want to make my links clickable and editable. Much like you see when you are using ICE and you hover over menu items. You have the option to edit the name of the menu item and also click on the link to navigate to a different page. When hovering over the menu item a small arrow will appear allowing you to click.

I have nested accordions in my site. When they appear in ICE they need to be clicked to drop down and reveal the content which I have made editable for my client. I would also like the client to be able to edit the links names, however when making this editable it disables the click function and as a result disables the accordion.

Does any one know the code eg: <div ice:editable="html"> to make a link, editable and clickable?

Blog layout. Overall. Looks goods one place but breaks in other

Hi Guys,

I'm really struggling, I know it has something to do with my Overall Blog layout but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is.

On my blog home page which features the layout "Overall blog layout" my side bar is getting trapped with in the blog container. So I ammended the layout so the side bar floated nice and neatly on the right where it is meant to be, however when I click on a blog item and see the "Post details" layout my side bar was appearing at the bottom of the page below the content.

OK so I switched back to the default template and the problem reversed. Now my side bar on the overall layout is broken but fixed on the post details layout. I have played with the CSS for ages but no matter what I try I can't get it looking good in both.

Has any one run into this issue before?. I am sure it's a simple fix but I cannot find it. I can't post my client's site here but will happily share if someone thinks they know a fix.

Accessibility, has anyone coded the option to change site colour?

I have a client that needs their site to be coded with accessibility in mind, I have found a work around for changing the font size but has anyone coded the colour options like on this site http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/ ? Is there an accessibility plugin or anything that BC offers?

Can customers be notified if they have commented and their comment has been responded to?

Hi everyone! I hope you're projects are going well!

I just wondered if there was a way that I could set up BC to send a customer an email notifiying them that a comment they have recently left has been repsonded to.

EG; My client writes a new blog, it gets read by 1000s and some one leaves a really cool response that the admin/user just has to reply to.

Is there anyway that the commenter can be notified when they are responded to?

I've had a look at workflows but I just can't seem to figure it out.

My blog layout seems to be absorbing my page template

Hi All. I have made a few websites successfully on BC now, I'm quite fond of a footer that fully spans the bottom of the page.

Here's a couple of examples of it working properly on a sites that I have coded: http://www.paladinpartners.co.uk/ or http://www.preciouspetslondon.com/ (note how the footer spans the entire page on all pages)

However on this site: http://www.mlearningcommunity.com/ it was working perfectly on all pages but any blog related pages like "/blog" or "/partners" the footer appears to be contained within in the bottom of the page like it has got caught in a wrapper or something.

I am coding a new site that has the same problem too. My page templates work great every where but blog related pages. It is as if the blog layout is interfering with my page template. Has anyone run into this before?

I would like to pull a 3rd party RSS feed on my home page in a content holder

I have a client that runs several Wordpress blogs and would like to feature the headlines on his BC site. I would like to place the feeds into content holders so the content would be dynamic and would update automatically. Is there any way that I can pull the RSS feeds from third parties into content holders?

Multiple blogs - with different layouts?

Hello All.

I am stuck, I would like to run several blogs on my site as I think this is a really efficient way of managing content, especially for my client too. But must all the blogs share the same layout? I am happy customising the Blog Layout templates, but I would like to change the order of some contents, an be able to control what is on offer in each of the side bars. Is there a way to add a custom layout?
