My customers are getting the Adobe Reader error "An error exists on this page...". The error has only occurred on large .pdf files (6MB to 15MB), after the file has been uploaded to a USB drive, and the USB drive has been shipped to the customer. We then will send the same file via email or ftp site to the customer and they have no issue. Obviously, this makes my company look bad and frustrates our customers. Any idea how to stop the error from occurring on a shipped USB drive?

Having trouble saving selected pages as PDF in Adobe Reader

I used to be able to save certain pages from a large PDF file as a new PDF in Reader: I would select Print, choose my pages and then hit "save as PDF". Now I can no longer do this. When I choose the pages and go to the printer selection and choose "save as PDF", I get a box that says " Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose File - Save". But that doesn't help because 'File-Save" saves only the whole document, not certain pages. Can anyone help me here?

As the titel says, i have a flashfile im working on, a banner. I noticed that the size made a huge jump when i added a textbox (just added text, no animation/dynamic etc). So i tested to write the same line of text in an empty flashfile, and it jumped from 0 to 21kb. There has to be something wrong, this cant be right. I am also using Myriad Pro, so no funky crazy font. Fonts have always been a 1-3kb in size, so u can understand my dilemma.

Is there some sort of setting that i can fiddle with? From what i can see, i have no setting telling the font to be embedded or simular.

I REALLY need some help with this issue.

Confused about object style override I cannot figure out

Hi there,

So I'm trying to figure out and clean up a somewhat messy book I inherited (lots of inconsistent styling and overrides). There are a bunch of inset boxes that have an object style applied to them but seem to have odd overrides, which I cannot figure out how even got applied.

In particular, they have an override of "Text Frame General Options (Inset Spacing Left; Inset Spacing Right". I cannot figure out how you can even override the object style for this.

Even more oddly, the paragraph style has a right indent of .0625" and left indent of 0, but on the screen I can see the left indent is also .0625". Even though it is not specified anywhere.

Inside the style, the inset spacing is .25" left and 0.25" right, and that's actually how the text is lined up. But it appears from the lines on the screens as if there is a left and right inset of 0.1875" and a paragraph indent of 0.0625 on both sides, when the styles don't say that.

Why do I care about any of this? Well, I need to convert this to CS6, and when I did that, I found an extra .0625" of indent on the right side which caused overset text. This led me down this rabbit hole.

I know I should get rid of all the overrides completely and I plan to do that at some point, but I can't do it right now for time reasons, and I'm also actually really curious what is happening here. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Photoshop CC crashes on startup

I've used CC before and have never had this problem, but i am using the trial now and photoshop crashes literally 2 seconds after i open it.

I see "Photoshop has stopped working" and then it says searching for solution, then gives me the option to just close it.

As a student thi is very frustrating, signing out and signing back in yielded no results.

I am trying to set double sided pagination options in an old FM file, and whatever choice I make, when pressing "Set", this error shows.

I have cleaned weird frames in master page. I have search for this message but haven´t been able to find anything regarding this issue.

What I'm trying to do is split this old document into chapters so it can be easily edited, I need to configure the pages to count even. Am I missing something?

rollover state not working in tooltip

Web App input form - Summernote WYSIWYG editor

Hi Guys

I am playing around with the Summernote editor.

The thing I am trying to do is a sort of a blog, where my clients employees can post different info etc.

I thought that with a WYSIWYG editor they would have more possibilities.

I have it working with text etc. I just "duplicate" the input from the editor into the "Item Description" field,

and this works, one can format the text, make tables etc.

Summernote also have a function to upload pictures. Actually one can just drop them in the editor and resize them etc.

This feature is quite nice. As a standard the images are saved/compressed with "Base64", which i've never played around with

before, but it doesn't seem like BC can "handle" this.

When I insert a image via the web app input form the image source field is empty, so the image is not displayed but there is a image tag.

If i put in the entire code in the backend the image appears, but is not working after I save it and see it on the site.

I am not sure that the base64 compression is a great thing to do. Could this work, or is there another way to get this working?

It this is not possible i will just have a "regular" input field where they can put in a picture, and then i can control it with CSS,

but I thought that having the possibility to put in directly in the WYSIWYG would be great.

In the summernote API, it is possible to control the "upload image" feature, but i am not sure this will work with BC.

Any thoughts or tips is much appreciated

Trouble starting InDesign

For some job reason I have on my Win7 PC several versions of InDesign: all versions from CS3 to CC2014.

Installing the last version, CC2014 or after an upgrade, I can't remember, InDesign CS5.5 stop to work.

well, in that period I didn't use it, so I continued to work with other versions (all working).

One month ago a client asked job in CS5.5 and I tried to make it work again, At Adobe support said that they can't help me as that old versioni is not supportd anymore.

Trying and re-retrying I found that there is a way to start software in "compatibility mode", and found out that using a "Vista compatibility" InDesign CS5.5 could work perfectly!!

WOW!

Well, now is Indesign CS4 that doesn't work anymore...

I justr tried now: neither CS3 and CS5 work.

Somebody have some solution to this kind of trouble?

Creative Cloud Files – Syncing issues/Bandwidth hogging – Does it ever work?

Having been a Dropbox user for several years I was keen to start using the 100gb of Creative Cloud storage to enable me to work on a project from home and pick up where I left off in the office.

However it simply doesn't work properly!

For example:

I worked from home on Monday and Tuesday on a project. All the files were successfully uploaded from my home Mac within seconds/minutes. I came into work on Wednesday and the files had not appeared in my CC Files folder. I rebooted my Mac and paused and restarted the sync and left it running, a couple of the files appeared but the process seems to hang fairly quickly. I've left it running overnight and my files have still not synced! the status bar at the bottom of the CC app shows "Syncing file 7 of 181 (9hr left)" but it never gets any further.
When syncing is switched on and running the process kills all the bandwidth of my work Mac causing outgoing emails to spend up to an hour in my outgoing mail queue, slowing web browsing to a crawl, hampering any other web usage/downloads/streaming/remote access etc. To prevent this I changed the preferences to only allow CC 50% of the available upload and download bandwidth.

I have repeatedly logged out/rebooted my Mac, closed and relaunched the CC app, paused and restarted the sync process and run the

rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CoreSync/options.tix

command in Terminal as suggested in another thread.

The files I am syncing are not even that large, in total I am only using around 3% of my storage.

Am I on my own in experiencing these issues? Or are other people suffering too?

How do you open a multi-page AI file? And no, it's not a PDF file. An actual AI file.

There's like 3 artworks in one file. I can only open one of them at a time. And when I save it, it only saves the artwork that's opened.

Also, every time I export it to jpeg, it saves at 1921 x 1080. How do I make it 1920 x 1080?

I'm still new with illustrator, so sorry for the noob questions. :d

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Love the idea of Kuler/Adobe Color. I wish there was an option to switch the interface to light or gray. The dark background has a huge impact when choosing the brightness or saturation of a color. It would also be great to be able to limit the number of colors you're working with, or even figure out a way to mock up color hierarchy per theme in the app.

When i drag this PostScript file in Adobe Distiller 11, it generates a PDF file contains the Background entry in the shading dictionary.

As per PLRM, shfill operator must ignore the Background entry if present.

is it correct?

I'm using os x v10.9.5 and i can't double click open any of the .pdf files using adobe acrobat pro (11.0.09), i need to open by 'open...' option, and after i open the file, i can't close it by clicking the red cross circle. can any one help me with this?

Got many queries in between, solved many myself, but still have few.

I tried to Record my voice and stuck with many problems. First was a good microphone. Atlast I purchased Sennheiser Headset with Mic.

Recording ok, but still many problems like background sounds toooo much in my locality. used cleaner but still not comfortable. Then my personal problem since my voice is not that much clear.

I found speech management Text-To-Speech and downloaded neospeech for captivate 8. Installed and completed my first project.

I am using Paul and James voice. Also I have downloaded Ivona's Raveena (Indian Voice), Amy (British Voice) and Sally (American Voice).

Combination is wonderful. But i get problem.

Paul and James speak very fast whereas Amy speak very slow.

I wanted to change the settings but don't know how to change. I opened Windows Text-to-speech settings and found Ivona voices there but Neospeech voices is not there. I think they are made only for captivate.

I searched installation directory of Neo Speech and opened their VTeditor_Eng [ C:\Program Files\Adobe Captivate Voices 8\VT\James\M16\bin ]. Found settings there which include change of pitch, volume, speed, etc. but these changes doesn't effect in captivate.

Last thing, anyone has any idea about good TTS Indian Voice. Since I live in India, am looking for Indian Pronounciation.

Any help / suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Need to make a template with holes at a specific distance apart

I want to make a template for a steering wheel add-on for laser cutting, the holes obviously need to be a specific distance apart. I have made the outline from this picture but I now need to scale it so the small holes are 70mm from center to center. So I need illustrator to first find the exact center of the small hole then re-size the image so that it measures 70mm from hole to hole.

After effects CC on maverick slow render because of PP CC Dynamic Link Footage

I put premiere pro CC edits in After Effects CC through dynamic Link every day. Since I upgraded my systems to Maverick and first installed the 12.0.1 and afterwards 12.1 the rendering of the After effects projects that have Dynamic Link Edits on the timeline slow down from 10 hours (in12.0 on Mountain Lion) to about 90 hours. When I replace the dynamic Link with a QT Movie, it renders about 10 hours again. It is normal that Dynamic link slows dow the rendering, but this is extreme and since this wasn't the case on Mountain Lion and 12.0 for the same project with the same dynamic link, not normal. I couldn't figure out what causes this. Is this Maverick on my 2008 Mac Pro ? is this a bug in 12.1 or dynamic link ? Or can I solve this with a simple setting somewhere in Maverick or AE ?

I hope you can help me. Please excuse any bad english and also any false translations from Acrobat buttons / functions since my Acrobat is in German I dont know the correct english terms.

[Win7, Acrobat XI]

I created a PDF-Form (w/ InDesign).

I added the action "send form" [Formular senden] in Acrobat using the "Edit form tools" then right click on word > properties > actions".

A user can fill it out and sign it before sending the whole PDF to me.

When I receive the complete PDF I can see all completed fields and the signatures BUT I also can edit all fields from the signed PDF.

How can I prevent the signed PDF form being edited by the receiving person?

Bridge is not linked up with Photoshop 2014

When I go to a photo in Bridge it opens in Windows photo viewer and does not even give the option of Photoshop. This is not right with this program - never had that problem and it is very bad for my work flow.

I have an edited sequence with mono guide audio on a standard track , this guide is a separate audio file, not part of a video clip. I now want to replace this audio with a 5.1 master mix. This surround file is the same length and has the same timecode as the guide. I can replace footage and this brings in the new file but on the timeline there is only front left audio in the mono track. Any ideas on how to bring in all 6 tracks?
