RH11 - Tabs missing in Word Index

I have just upgraded from RH10 to RH11. Upon upgrading a project and publishing a Word document in RH11 I see that the index entries are now missing the tab between the item and the page number.

This is how the Word document looked in RH10

This how it now appears in RH11. No changes have been made to any of the previous RH10 settings (i.e CSS or Word Template).

The Word template still contains the tab setting for the Index style but the actual tab is not being inserted when the document is generated. Am I missing a setting somewhere or is this a bug?

Iam unable to get merged help to work in Multiscreen HTML5 Help

I have just started to try out the RoboHelp 10 Multiscreen HTML5 format and have found a problem with merged projects.

I carry out the usual procedure for merged projects by adding each child project to the TOC of the parent project then generate and publish each one.

Upon viewing the published help system, the parent project is correct with the TOC showing the child topics.

However, upon clicking on a child topic in the TOC the child topic will open but shows as a standalone project, i.e. the TOC/Index etc no longer shows the whole merged project.

I am using the same screen layout for all projects and have tried using various other default RoboHelp screen layouts, all without success.

I can publish the exact same project using WebHelp and everything works perfectly.

Is there an extra step somewhere for Multiscreen HTML5?

Does RoboHelp 10 support SFTP?

Hi,

I have been asked by our developers to publish a RH project to a secure Web server using SFTP. The RH publishing dialog box only shows the option of FTP, is there a way it can support SFTP?

Problem with latest Security Update

I have just noticed that the Search function on my WebHelp output was no longer working. When I selected the Search button on my WebHelp file the search bar worked normally but when it reached 100% no results were shown and an error message appeared in the browser status bar. Clicking on the error message gave the result:

"Object Expected

whfhost.js Line 2773

Code: 0 Char 5"

I realised that the only recent change I had made to RoboHelp was the latest security update that changed the whutils.js files. I reverted these files back to the originals and the search function now operates normally.

RH9 - Problem with Conditional Build Tags

RH9 seems to have a problem applying Conditional Build Tags to text that contains a Hyperlink. Upon upgrading a RH8 project to RH9 I have found that Conditional Text tags which were previously correct in a topic are now showing all over the place, against text that previously had no tag applied. Upon removing these unnecessary tags by using either the Design screen or manually correcting the HTML code the erroneous tags reappear either straight away or when the topic is re-opened. There appears to be no logic as to where these tags are being placed, if they reappear after being removed, they may not reappear in the same place but against some other piece of text.

After doing some testing this problem seems to happen when a Conditional Text tag is applied over a Hyperlink. In the corresponding HTML code a number of unnecessary <span></span> tags are also applied. In addition to my RH8 upgrade project I have also created a new RH9 project and the same thing is occuring.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Unable to Activate RoboHelp 9

My PC operating system was recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, upon reinstalling RoboHelp 9 I am getting the Activation dialog box which fails to activate the product and continues to state 'Please connect to the Internet, then press Continue". Pressing continue starts the activation process which just returns to the same connection message. Obviously, I am connected to the internet and my Web Browser (IE8) is working fine, I have no other Web browsers are installed. Has anyone any ideas?

being created when importing a Word document

After my upgrade to Office/Word 2007 each topic of any document imported into RoboHelp now appears within a frame. The HTML code shows:

This did not occur previously with Word 2003.

Does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere in RoboHelp or Word that can stop this frame occuring?

Frame being created when linking a Word file

Robohelp HTML version 8.0.2.208

I have recently been given a new PC on which RoboHelp 8 has been reinstalled and my version of Microsoft Office updated from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Previous to this upgrade I was using the Link > Word Document feature without any problem for both Word and RTF files. However, following the upgrade when I now link a Word document or RTF file I get the following two issues:

1) Each topic is now created within a frame using the <div class="WordSection1"> token. No frame was created previously.

2) The first topic of the linked file is now repeated with the first instance having a htm file name that includes the Heading name plus the first line of text from the file (even though the first line of text is set to a different style). The resulting topic has no content, simply an empty frame.

My operating system has not changed and remains as Microsoft Windows XP - Service Pack 3.

Does anyone know if there is a setting in RoboHelp somewhere that I have not reset with the new install, or could this be a Micorsoft Office issue?

Context Sensitive Help in Robohelp v6

Can anyone tell me if either version of Robohelp v6 (Standard or Pro) supports the use of Context Strings for context sensitive help rather than Map Ids (v5 only supports Map Ids)?

Context sensitive help with .NET

I have recently purchased Robohelp Office X5 and now find that I need to create help files with context sensitive help for some .NET applications. It appears that Robohelp Office X5 no longer uses context strings to call the help pages and only uses map id's. From what I gather .NET does not use map id's and only uses context strings.

I presume that I now need Robohelp Office Pro for .NET. Does anyone know if I can simply purchase the Robohelp Office Pro for .NET upgrade, i.e can I upgrade the same version of Robohelp Office X5 to Robohelp Office PRO for .NET?

This all seems very odd as my old HDK product that I am converting from works quite well with .NET.
