Edge Animations Still Don't Work?

We have a very simple animation on one of our pages that doesn't work anymore.

I have even built a 32.3 viewer and still the same result.

I have a very simple animation of a panel moving off the screen to reveal a transparent background so you can see indesign layers below. Now when the animation plays on the iPad it reveals the poster image? Its not transparent?

Any clues?...

Hi All,

we have finally managed to sort out our subscription error with the infinate spinning issue.

But now we have put back in a URL to open up a newsletter signup after the subsciption has gone through. The page opens up, but it doesnt not load with the normal in app browser window, so once you filled out the details you cant get back into the app?

Is this normal?

Hi There,

Im hoping someone can help as so far we have got no where with Adobe support.

We are currently trying to upgrade our App to version 30 from about 25. We have managed to download the API file and got it onto our ipads for testing. nearly everything works when testing apart from the subsciption Panel, it just spins?

Its a free app (Professional Edition), any ideas what it could be?

Active state in menu for anchored links not appearing?

I know this was a big a while ago that was addressed, but I still seem to be having a problem.

Im on version 7.2, the 'active' state on my navigations for my site dont trigger when the page reaches the correct anchor points?

Any ideas?

p.s. I do have the option checked in the site properties.

2 Problems in DPS (Edge and scrollable Frames)

Hi All,

A few of us at work have a few small issues that we can't seem to fix in DPS.

Firstly we have been trying out some slightly more advanced techniques using edge and DPS which are great. But we have a couple of files that preview perfectly in edge (and in the browser), but they don't run smoothly on any of our iPads (1, 2 and 3). I have tried placing both the OAM files and the HTML files no difference? The images don't exceed 1024 pixels so shouldn't cause any issue, and the assets don't contain unnecessary files? (the files do have a tiny delay on in indesign).

Also we ran indesign updates yesterday so we can sideload again (Yay!). But in doing this we had articles that behaved correctly that now dont. The main problem is scrollable boxes, we have an article that contains a scrollable box across the whole page. Before the update you could scroll the content up and down and also navigate to other articles within the folio. Now we can't browse, the page is just stuck and you cant get to the next article? we have another article similar to this that does the same thing that now no longer works?

Any one have any ideas?

content collector tool paste in place

Hi,

Recently upgraded to CS6 so trying out a few of the new tools. One thing that I can't work out is, can you paste in place with the content collector tool? I have many key messages on some documents that are always in the same place, updating these when changed would be brilliant, but I cant seem to paste them in the same location on different pages?

Downloading is SLOW!!!

Trying to update artworks at the moment and it has gone slow?! Is something going on with the servers.

Audio on/off multi page article

Hi,

A while ago when we first looked into DPS, we created a multi page article that had an audio file on that auto played on open. It played throughout the 5 or 6 pages withing that article. We manged to create buttons on each page to stop the music at any point without having to return to page 1. We now are nearly ready to go live with one of our publications, but for the life of me, I can't turn the audio off, on any page apart from the first one?!

I have done this before, but has something now changed for this to no longer work?

We are on the latest set of tools.

1.8.0 Tools Keep Crashing Adobe Viewer

Hi All,

We have just decided to upgraded to the tools above after using some old ones for quite some time, due to compatibility issues with adobe viewer.

Now since upgrading the tools, we have problems again! When we update articles, the adobe viewer crashes, and then tells us to update in the app store?!

We are not running the latest set of tools on purpose for this reason, and also every once in a blue moon it works, so we know the tools should be ok.

Any ideas why this keeps happening, its such a massive waste of time trying to keep spending time sorting out software instead of actually doing layouts!?

Image Sequence

Hi,

I have a problem with an specific image sequence that I cant solve!

Every time I input all my prefs into the boxes provided (auto play, delay, etc, etc) I click something else to edit that, as soon as I go back to the image sequence it forgets all the settings?

I have tried a new file, new folio, re-naming the Photoshop files, turning on and off and still nothing? Its really strange and very annoying.

I also have a png sequence on this page and that works fine?

HELP?!

Horizontal & Vertical Pages

Hi,

Im in the process of building a concept iPad mag and have a few quick questions;

Firstly I have a vertical page (standard size) which is like an intro to article. I would like the user to be able to rotate the iPad and have a long horizontal article that they can scroll through.
The dimensions of this page are longer than the normal page and when I upload the page to the iPad and rotate it, the page shrinks to fit? Is it possible to have a longer page or do I have too have all the pages the same size?

Also If i want to have horizontal pages, do I have to have one horizontal for every vertical page?

Hope this makes sense.

Adobe Content Viewer No Updates

I have just installed all the updates on indesign (folio tools) but now when I go onto the iPad to test it, I get a message saying go to the appstore to update? I have been to the app store and no updates are available, unistalled and re-installed still nothing?

Is there anyway to create links, or buttons withing multi-state objects using indesign, pluggins or 3rd party software? I have tried placing invisible buttons over the area in which I would like something interactive, but its annoying if you click that are by mistake, and just seems sloppy. I’m pretty certain that Indesign does not support multi-state objects that have ineractivity within them, but am wondering if there are ways round this. I have seen a few iPad apps that have achieved what I’m after and am certain most of it has been done using indesign.

Also, If the iPad edition is created using Indesign, can it be exported to another piece of software to add more interactive elements or is it all done via Indesign?

Buttons appear over Object States

Hi there,

I’m still in the process of building a digital publication at work using just InDesign. Most of it seems to work perfectly, but I’m having some slight trouble with one page which I’m not sure has a work around.

In basic terms, I have a grid of 8 images, you click one of the images which I converted to a button and it loads a layer from within my OS which fills the page. The first problem I encountered was the images that I converted to buttons appeared over the OS when activated. I got round this by making invisible buttons above the images.

The desired affect is now created, but all the invisible buttons are still usable when one of the OS layers is called upon? Is there a way to disable this, or is this just what I will be stuck with?

Any help would be greatly appreciate,
