How big a security risk if we use a domain login for the cf application service

The local account used as the login account for CF application service doesn't allow access via UNC to other servers in in the same subnet (behind a firewall with private ip addresses in use) for security reasons.

It would be easier if we used a domain account -- but all the installation instructions and hardening pdf - recommend a local account which I am using.

I can't seem to find details on how using a domain account is creating a security issue. Is this a major or minor security issue is another question...

CF 10 sp 12 Enterprise high CPU usage hangs services, 2012 server on 2012 Hyper-V host

The last 2 days - my [removed link] CF site has suffered from high CPU usage (on and off) that stops functionality.

This will last several minutes then suddenly the high usage stops a few minute later the high cpu usage starts again.

I don't have any scheduled processes allowed to run.

Restarting the coldfusion service during a high CPS incident - the cpu usage just picks up where it left off when restarted.

I have assigned 4 CPUs (normal) or 8CPUs (as a test) to the VM and I get the same high CPU then low usage. This is a fresh install several months ago on a new VM.

I'd like some Adobe support on this issue but can't seem to find the contact phone number.

This series of high and low cpu usage first started Monday AM about midnight until 7:00 AM Tuesday was quiet and Wednesday this AM I'm having the same issues.

Ideas?

Update: While waiting for this to post - the high CPU usage started again and this time I stopped and restarted the Jetty service ... and the CPU usage went away...

Update: the high cpu started again and a restart of the jetty service didn't help --- neither did the .net service restart... the cf10 application service did stop the high usage...

coldfusion 10 with creamweaver cs5 and cs6 hiding saved files?

I have CF 10 enterprise sp12 running on windows 2012 std as a virtual machine on 2012 Hyper-v host.

When a dreamweaver CS 5 or CS 6 makes a change to any part of a CFC file like a space a single character in the file (like a comment area) and saves the file directly on the server the file time stamp changes with the save but when a browser IE or chrome tries to open the changed file the file is not found and/or the request times out at 60 seconds.... several minutes later a refresh is successfully to open the file.

If I modify the same file with Notepad ++ in the same manner ( one or 2 characters) and open the file with IE/Chrome - the file is found the code runs and the modifications are found.

Trying the same test on a CF9 std installation on a 2003 server the "file not found error/lag" does not occur.

I'd like to know how to resolve the above issue between CF10 and dreamweaver as it is needed for development and so far it is slowing everything down.

I have a remote server (Windows 2012 64 bit with CF10 and sp 11) and CFB 2.0.1 on windows 7 32 bit.

In the CFB Servers Tab - I can open the server moniter and admin screens... I also can see the RDS DataView data sources and also under Services Browser I see my CFC and CFIDE etc objects...

What I can't do is to in the Servers tab - right click on the server object and stop,restart etc the Servers...

I can find instructions for installing on the CF server AdminServerComponents.zip and other files for versions cf7 > CF9 but nothing on CF 10.

Do I need to install additional files or does CF 10 have these files included.

I'm setting up CF10 SP 9 on a copy of the existing web site on a development server etc.

I ran cfcompile.bat against the web site and the compile took 107 sec and there was somthing like 14000 files compiled -- but I can't seem to find the .class files that (I think) were supposed to be created.

What am I missing?

I have a Windows 2003 SP2 IIS 6.0 32 bit server Dell 2850 4 G RAM - as a test platform.

I was running CF9 standard normally on the server with good page performance.

I installed CF10 standard (Plus the mandatory update) on the server and now the admin screen and all web pages take over 30 sec to load.

Task manager shows mostly idle at 99% - Single NIC active with a single IP address in use.

I remove cp10 and restarted cf9 and the performance is back to normal.

Ideas?
