Webform Redirect

I just cant use the webform results as they are, so am I able to redirect to a page I build?

It would be nice to be able to be able to drag out some of the information and display it, but I am thinking that is not possible.

I found this thread Webform confirmation page - EID and CID API question

However I have no idea where they placed that redirect - anyone know where it can be placed in the form?

I have a large form with 159 inputs.

1) Can we modify webformresults as yet?

The output is very unprofessional.

2) Can we format the email sent for webformresults?

There is no formatting differentiation between the question and the answer at all. Even a different colour for the answer would be something!

Affiliate commissions

I need to set up an affiliate program, but I can not see to get it to work, and have some questions -

I set up an affiliate program.

I set up an affiliate and added a percentage.

I used the link supplied to go to the website, and enter a different customer and email address

I set up product and order (under product I also added under "more options" a commission payment percentage - trying to make it work, when the first did not.

1) After entering an order, I go below to Commissions, but it tells me that commissions are disabled, and for the life of me I can't see how to enable them.

Anyone know how to enable commissions?

2) In the BC guides -

Commissions apply to orders made by customers on your online shop after clicking an affiliate referral link.

Note: Affiliate commissions for purchases can only be tracked correctly when using a seamless payment gateway or PayPal standard.

Now the intention was for the client to send out Affiliate links, and they were going to enter the orders manually to create the trail of commission payments. No intention of using the shop or any payment gateway - they just want to use the affiliate program.

Does that mean that it just won't work as it needs a payment gateway?

3) I go to the clients details, but can't find the referrer details.

Am I missing something, or they are not shown?

If I go to the referrer, their activity just shows someone used their link, and does not even show the client. Should it now show the client details.

Clutching at straws, until I have to tell the client, Affiliate programs as advertised won't work, unless you have a gateway! and without that gateway is there is no possible way to identify the affiliate or their client.

Webform Submission with extra delayed automated emails + attachments for response?

I think this is outside what BC can do, but ask if anyone else has done something similar.

User fills in webform and receives an automated email.

1) Can that automated email have an attachment? Does not seem possible, and I would prefer not to have a link.

2) I would like the workflow to then send a further email in say one weeks time.

And then a further email in say 2 weeks time

In wan to edit the sender and the subject and both may or may not have an attachment.

Now I can see that workflow does have the ability to actually send an email (that has been specifically scripted) to the user, but not change the sender or the subject.

I am I wrong, and it can be done?

Web Form Error Message

I have a very large collection form although it only has 14 "Required fields

When I press submit, I get a new page with the following message -

ERROR: An error occurred. Your web form must capture customer name and email address. Please fix this issue and re-insert your web form on your web page.

Name and email are definitely there, and I have tested every field and submitted data.

However if I enter just my name and email address, then all the other required fields are ignored.

I cut down the code to only include the fields that are important to check - same result

I checked it against another smaller form, which is working but can't see any difference between the first few lines and last lines.

Web app Templates by BC

Although not a bug - I do feel this is an issue.

Currently when using templates, many of the BC templates use web apps for aesthetic reasons, however I just got caught, where the client does not want an eCommerce site, so therefore the web apps are not available. Therefore hours of work, now have to be redone.

There is no warning on the BC templates either.

So my question is - when do web apps used for styling become part of a partners arsenal, instead of providing a client with business functionality??

Can they be separated, or tagged as not relating to business functionality, and therefore can the partner have access to the web app anyway. Of course the client should not get access.

Is it normal behaviour for the Trial nag screen to show every time I open a document just to read it?

I would expect this behaviour if I only had a few days left, but this is the first day.

It is leaving me with a bad impression of the whole program, especially as I have to fight my way through just finding where everything is due to some software designer figuring he knows where it is, and so should I.

Just as an add on, when each version of Microsft comes out it gets harder and harder to find anything, and it seems this is the same direction Adobe is taking. The sheer stupidity of alienating your users, even someone that is quite computer literate, is beyond me. Change can be good and even inovative, but it seems most design is now just based on making it sleek and beautiful - give me an ugly program clutted with simple easy to find access to the features I want everytime!!.

But after my rant, I just want to find out if this Nag screen is normal behaviour.

I cant seem to get the code to auto optin

I created a web form, which includes the newsletter checkbox for a newsletter email list. I hide that, and make sure it is checked, as we *** add &OPTIN=TRUE

Now the inline editor changes it to &OPTIN=TRUE and maybe that is my problem - no idea.

The problem is that, the subsrcibee does not get the optin email, which is good, but he is not subscribed either.

Seriously? CRM does not display Email in customer list anymore?

Now it is possible that some people think all of those items are extremely important and dont care about the email address, but as the email address is the most important item for identification in the BC system - why is it not listed?

My client has pages oif email addresses without names or the other items, and is not willing to View each one to find the person they want.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to show a column in Customers that shows the email address?

As search only works on First Name or Last Name for partial searches (ie enter four characters, and BC shows matches)

but for Email, only works if the Full email is entered. (update - actually entering email address does not work for searching at all)

The client is stuck and cant get to the records without heaps of work.

There is a problem with Email Campaigns, more specifically saving content.

I as getting a few error messages, and decided to reboot my machine just in case.

I actually did not realise that the content I was editing in my campaign had not saved and lost it all.

After reboot I redid the content, and tried to save it. 5-8 mins later the "Connecting to... " is still displaying and I am pretty sure the content was not saved.

So I stopped and tried to save again, and exactly 10 minutes later, I got the "Error has occurred" message.

Previous to that, I was editing and posting blogs with no errors at all.

The reason I post it here is I am wondering if others experiencing the "Error has occurred" were experiencng the problem in the campaign area as well, and is BC still using that third party for campaigns? Anyway just a though to help tech people resolve this.

Bulk delete of customer details after soft bounce

Another item that has been requested time and time again over the years.

Anyone have a solution of how to delete Leads after a soft bounce, which never came through as a hard bounce. (I won't call them customers as there is no other information on them or purchases - just an email address, so there is no issue)

Nothing is easy in this system! Getting jack of it, and so are clients.

You can pull up the problem soft bounces, and fantastic, you can open in a new tab, instead of the STUPID pop up box.

But that is where the ease stops. I can not view the customer in a "New Tab" and then delete them.

I can only click on the link and view the customer, which means my list of all the soft bounces disapears.

After deletion, I have to go through the whole rigmarole again, of

going to the email campaign

Going to bounces

changing the sort criteria

waiing for the list

viewing the customer

deleting them

and starting again

There are over 200 bounces

Seriously !!

Again I point out this was on the wish list for years!!

Sort by date in ADMIN for Web Apps

Seriously why are web app items sorted by name in the admin section.

Most would want it by date!

But even if you do want it by name, why is there no option to change the sort.

I have a client with 100's of items, and they have nearly given up finding the latest items entered.

I am wondering if it is possible with little manual adjustment.

Products to be sold will be based on the amount sold in bulk for many people.

In other words, people may only purchase 1 item, but the idea is to get a co-operative, so many people group together to buy the one product, and there will be a discount based on the number of people.

So unfortunately until we know the number of orders, we wont know the price.

Can the Ecommerce cater for -

(in order)

Taking buyers information, including credit card

(in say 2 weeks time)

We adjust the price.

We process the buyers information.

The intention was to have customers entered under a specific Type, and then under a secure zone display them based on the customer type.

How do I get it back to being "forever"

Once the date has been changed from 01-Jan-9999, you cant go back. I can only choose a date 8 years from now, which I realise is probably fine too, but I always hate loose ends, even if small ones.

What am I missing - It cant be that hard to creat a PDF and put in text

I am trialling Acrobat X

1) So I want to create a PDF - ahhh How come I have to atually open/import an existing PDF or some other document? How do I just start with a blank page. You mean I really have to go and create it using some other program, or am I missing something, because my definition of creation, is to create, not amend some other document???

2) So I had a pdf document that I had gathered from different sources, and added a blank page to the beginning.

On that Blank page I went to Tools | Edit Text & Objects | Add or Edit Tex box. and added a text box. Where can I actually format the text, except for the basic font and size. How can I make it Bold or anything else for that matter. In fact I entered line breaks, and when I deselect the text box, it removed them all.

I searched the forums I watched your videos, which conveniently stop before explaing the "Add or Edit Text Box"

I found that I could use the Edit Documents Text to change text that was already there, but seriously its very very and I mean very simple editing - there seems to be nothing fancy about it, including no Bold, or Itallics. It may have ben that the font was not availble, and so I could not change the stroke size (if that is what is classed as bold).

Sheesh I have more editing control using the $20 dollar program I bought from another provider, which is like nearly using MS Word and allows me to put in editable forms.

So what is it I am missing?? where is the creation, where is the functionality?? Is there some other program that Adobe uses to actually CREATE a PDF?

Poll/Survey/Questionaire questions

I know I can create a survey using web apps, but I have some questions in regards to usage and collection. I also realise I can create an imaginary user and hide the name and email input fields.

1) Without extra code to set a cookie, am I correct in assuming that there is no way to stop people from voting twice or even more? I cant stop it based on email if I am going to use a generic email address, and even if I wanted them to enter an email address it does not look like I could stop them doing it more than once.

2) I assume that by using a generic email address it means it changes the actual choice in the database. In other words the value for their choice would change, and if 50 people submitted to the survey, I would onely ever have one value. Is that correct.

3) Collection of results - If I am correct in my assumption in (2) above, then I assume that the only way to collect the actual results, is to setup a workflow, receive the emails, and manually collate the data.

4) NOT using a generic email address - lets assume that I make everyone use a real email address and names. How do I collect the data from the survey without using a workflow and emails to collate manually as per (3) above?

Found the anser to #4 here - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/businesscatalyst/articles/creating_a_survey.html , although you would still need to actually download the report and do and if statement in excel to calculate numbers. There is no graph either so its not a real poll.

Answers to the other 3 would help, as although I am pretty sure I am correct, confirmation would help.

Seriously !!

I have posted a couple of questions in this forum, and waited and waited and waited. Sometimes no answer after a week, or when I finally got an answer and then replied to the answer, I again have to wait and wait. One of them after a week I bumped it up.

I wondered what was going on, and where is everybody?

then I see someone complaining about the Partner forum, so I have just gone and joined that.

Then while using the new V3 interface for the backend site manager, I found a problem, which I was able to replicate everytime. So I used the feedback on the side, to report it, only to find yet again another forum. Now I realise that the feedback was supposed to be for the new V3 backend, it appears to me to have become another forum for people to ask stuff.

3 forums, thats at least 1 too many.

Come on BC - please fix this problem.

User Permissions Issue

For a client, and to ensure people with less technical skills while editing the website, can not stuff something up in Admin, I have implemented security, so they can not actually acces or edit web pages. All ok

I have then allowed them to create Web App items, which they must classify.

The categories/classifications (not sure why it is not "Categorise" instead of classify in the menu, to be consistent) I have set up to represent each web page they can edit.

On the web pages I insert a module that shows web items based on category which relates to the web page, and it all works fine.

But hold on, within the web app item creation the right hand menu allows the user to insert a web app item into a web page, and although they have no authorisation to edit web pages, they can.

Now I realise that the security is not that secure, as it only removes easy access via a menu, and in file manager or using FTP they could easily delete files, but I would have thought at least the feature to insert into web pages would be removed, or the system would not allow, if they did not have access to web pages.

Template for Emails and modules

From what I can see if I use a module like ad rotator, it does not pull out the ad details/images when the email is sent out as a campaign.

Instead the email just has the tag text like the following {module_adrotator,4411}

From other threads (old forum) it seems that modules do not work within email templates.

My client has sponsors and wants to display those sponsors, bothin in their website, plus on their email. The ad rotator works perfectly, and provides clickthrough, but we have the above problem ofr emails.

My question is - Are there any tricks that make the html email pull down the information from the server when opened, and just display a link to the sponsor if it is a text email?

Edit: Why - because sponsors can change quite a lot, and the ad rotator gives the client a perfect spot to mange them all.
