Delete folders that contain topics?

Hello:

Is it possible to delete folders that contain topics? I have been trying to do this with Project Manager but the delete option is dimmed.

I can delete folders that do not contain topics. The project is on a network. The Clear Project Cache (cpd) option is selected. I also cannot delete folders with topics from a sample project.

Cannot generate PDF with RH10

I have searched the forum and Peter Grainge's site and not found a solution to this problem that worked.

I have a new installation of RH10 on Windows 7 sp1. It was installed as a trial and then licensed. I do not have the complete Adobe Acrobat -- only the add-on that was installed with RH.

I used RoboHelp HTML to create a simple webhelp project and attempted to generate a PDF from it with the single source layout for Printed Documentation. The following error occurred:

Internal error encountered, Failed to generate Printed Documentation.

RoboHelp can successfully create a PDF of a single topic. It can create a PDF with Review > Create PDF for Review. It can successfully create a doc from this project, and Word is able to save that doc as a pdf.

RH can open the projects that it created but cannot open the sample projects. The sample directories are read-only and I cannot reset them. I do not know why.

I uninstalled RH and reinstalled it. The problem is still occurring.

I am baffled. I am an inexperienced RH user so the problem might be a simple one. I would be grateful for any advice.

Browse sequence not working in IE 10 - works in Chrome and Firefox

Hi all:

I am using RH10 and generating webhelp. I have applied the recent fixes for webhelp.

The browse sequence does not work when the webhelp is displayed with IE 10. It works when the webhelp is displayed in Chrome and Firefox. Index, Search and Glossary are working in all three browsers.

Does this sound familiar to anybody? It seems to be a different problem from the one that was addressed by the recent fixes.

Can a topic appear twice in a browse sequence?

Hello all:

I am using RH10 and generating webhelp.

There are a few topics that occur in multiple places in the TOC and browse sequence. When I browse through the webhelp, it skips over a topic when it is encountered for the second time.

The browse sequence is set up like this:

Topic A

Topic B

Topic C

Topic A

Topic D

When I browse sequenctially through the generated webhelp, the topics are displayed like this:

Topic A

Topic B

Topic C

Topic D

It occurs in IE, Firefox and Chrome.

It seems that a topic can appear only once in a browse sequence. Is there any way to work around this and make the topic appear in two locations in a browse sequence?

How to make text stop wrapping around an image?

Hello:

I am using RoboHelp HTML 10 on Windows 7, generating PDF and webhelp.

My project includes some images with text wrapping to the right of the image. I would like to allow a certain amount of the text to appear next to the image, then force the wrapping to stop at a specific sentence. I want the next paragraph to be aligned with the left margin instead of continuing to wrap around the image.

This is the effect I want:

I want paragraph A to appear next to the image, and paragaph B to be aligned with the left edge of the topic. It is OK for there to be some white space below paragraph A.

Is there a way to make this happen?

Webhelp cannot run if it is in a zip file

This is an elementary mistake but I have been caught by it a few times. I am posting this tip because it might help other RoboUsers.

Webhelp files cannot run if they are inside a zip file. They must be extracted from the zip.

If a user attempts to run a webhelp system that is inside a zip, they might see a blank screen, an error message, or a partial help system that does not work properly. Extracting the files from the zip should fix the problem.

If you distribute a webhelp system in a zip file, for example if you are asking people to review a draft help system, I recommend that you explcitly tell the people to extract the files. If you do not, some may try to start the webhelp without extracting the files and of course it won't work.

BTW I am using RoboHelp 10.

Linked doc to project. Added index to topic. What happens when I update?

Hi all:

I'm using RH10 and Word 2010.

After a lot of struggle and with help from Peter Grainge's excellent website, I successfully linked a doc to a RH project. Four topics were generated from the doc.

There were no index keywords in the doc.

I added some index keywords to the RoboHelp topics.

As a test, I generated the topics again. The index keywords were still attached to the topic. This surprised me: I thought they would disappear when I regenerated the topic.

Is it safe to add index keywords to the topic or should they be added to the source doc instead? If there are index keywords in both the doc and the RH project, will the ones in the project disappear when the topic is regenerated?

It seems too good to be true...

Linking doc from Sharepoint into RH project?

Hello all:

I am using RH 10 and a Sharepoint installation that is part of Office 365.

My employer has a lot of little doc files in Sharepoint that contain useful information. I would like to link them from their Sharepoint location into a RoboHelp project that lives on my C drive.

Can this be done? I have tried but cannot work out how to select the Sharepoint document from RoboHelp.
