Running CFEXECUTE to run C:D process - getting possible permssions error in C:D side

I'm executing a CFEXECUTE statement in a CFScheduler job that is supposed to C:D a file from one Windows Server to another Windows server.

I've built the C:D batch job correctly and can run it successfully from the CMD prompt (by double clicking on the .bat file name).

Here is my statement:

The job ends without any errors, but I get a C:D error - LAPP010I - Submit file open failure. CCODE=8 FDBK=0

So my thought process is this: when I go and execute the C:D command by double clicking on it alone - it is taking my id/password as the submitter. This is evident by looking at the C:D logs.

And when I execute the CFScheduler job, that runs the CFEXECUTE command, it uses XXXXXX id to run the C:D command. So my question is - what is the XXXXXX id? I don't have ColdCusion running on a special service account, so I'm not familar with what id it would be associated with. So any help would be appreicated.

Folks - I am truly stumped on this one and need help. I am training a new co-worker on our CF 9.0.2 EE environment and wanted to have him run some of our scheduled tasks. I had him log into the production website with the admin id and password (single password only using the 'generic' cfadmin id) without incident.

He navigated to the scheduled tasks without incident and clicked on the 'Run Scheduled Task' button, and up popped a message to log back into CF administrator. Never, never have I seen this happen before. I verified, and no one else was logged into the CF Administrator at the time.

The application log contained the following warning message: "CFADMIN","There was an error while verifying the token. Either the session timed out or un-authenticated access is suspected."

I've googled, Yahooed, and every other thing in between and can only fin references to CF10 and single account sessions. We verified again that he was the only on using the CF administrator. (I know this because I am the only other one that knows the admin password). We are both in the same administrative security group for the server (Windows 2003 R2) have the same security to the database - read-only (MS SQL Server 2005), but none of that should matter since we are going through IE and using the IWAM or IUSER permissions. Didn't seem to matter if Windows Integrated Authentication was check or not within IE options either.

I tried implementing separate user name and password security - but got the same error message.

Any ideas are most appreciated.

CF9 IIS 7.5 Setting up Application Problem

I currently an running CF 9.0 Enterprise Edition running on Windows 2003 Server R2 SP2 converting to CF 9.0.2 Enterprise edition running on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with IIS 7.5.

I was able to successfully install and configure the cfadmin without issue.

My problem is now that when I try and access my web application (which resides within the same directory structure as the cfide folder). I know it is not a permissions issue - I wouldn't be able to get to the administrator.

I have my web application or custom code set up as an 'application' as apposed to a virtual directory. When I try to access the application via the website, I receive the following error:

500 - Internal server error.

There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

And in IIS, under the application, I go to edit application, basic settings, I try to 'test settings' I get:

There was and error while performing this operation. Details: invalid application path.

Which I know is wrong. And I know that permissions are correct. I've followed many instructions regarding the application pool settings and .Net without success.

I did see on one of the blogs that someone noted that you needed a virtual directory under the application - which is something that wasn't needed in previous versions. I haven't been able to confirm that either.

I could revert to the IIS 6.0 Manager, but I'd have to have it re-installed (they installed it and made it operational only for the SMTP server).

Any ideas? I've spent about 20 hours working just on this . . .

JVM Path - Error loading jvm.dll

I am performing a new installation on the following:

Windows 2008 R2 service pack 1

CF Enterprise 9.0.2

Single Web Server installation using IIS

SQL Server

I am getting an 'Error loading: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_06\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll' when trying to replace the delivered JRE with a more recent version that I have downloaded and installed from Oracle.

I have verified the location is correct, and have escaped the backward slashes correctly -

java.home=C:\\Program Files\\Java\\jdk1.7.0_06\\jre.

I believe I have the Windows permissions correct to the location of the C;\program files location (same as to the location of the Coldfusion9 folders).

Any thoughts?

CFGRID, updating records, reselecting records not refreshing and showing updates

I have a cfgrid that has minimal information - an id, type, title, status and status_date.

The user can select a record by id (cfset Session.RequestId="#ListGetAt(url.cfgridkey,1)#") and can update the rest of the record. When the record has been updated and saved, the user is then returned back to the cfgrid. If the status or status_date have been changed, the grid reflects the updates. The problem occurs when the user then re-selects the same record by id for any other updated field. The update form appears as though no updates have occurred to the record (but if you click on the internet 'refresh button', the record with refresh').

Any ideas on how to render an updated query set for the detail record? I am running CF 9.0.1 on Windows 2003 Server using Access (I know, I know - I'm still developing and will convert to MS SQL Server for a DB when I go live).

select/option with cfquery - how to pass selected value to field downform

I have a form that has a basic select/option dropdown using a cfquery result. I would like to use the value that the user selects to pre-populate an editable 'title' field further along on the form. For example:

When the user gets to the subject field,the onClick will pre-populate the field with the combined value using <cfset subjectLine = "#RequestId#" & " " & "#approval_types.approval_descrip#" & " Approval Request" >. regardless of what is selected, it uses the first item in the query list because that is what is rendered when the form is loaded (got that). I figure that I need a javascript onChange event for the select statement for the dropdown, but can't figure out how to pass this javascript variable back to the CF form. Any ideas, or am I stuck?

Can you pass a session variable in a CFC bind?

I have a page (dsp_compReqSCM.cfm) that (via a session variable) displays an application value. From this page (via a CFFORM) I would like to have that session variable passed along to a cfc(getDistinct.cfc). I can't quite get the syntax correct and am hoping to get some assistance. When I code #session.this_appl# in dsp_ReqComps.cfm, I get an error stating Element not found PTS (which is the value of session.this_appl) and that the bind cannot occur. If I pass session.this_appl (NO ##) in dsp_ReqComps.cfm, I get an error stating Element not found session and that the bind cannot occur. If I pass 'session.this_appl' or "session.this_appl" in dsp_ReqComps.cfm, I get an error stating Element not found 'session (or "session) and that the bind cannot occur.

9.0.1 Update Problem

I am running CF 9.0.0 enterprise on Windows 2003 R2P2 IIS 6 and just tried applying the 9.0.1 update to use some of the new functionality that are included. Last Friday I installed the Windows executable (without errors) and when the services can back up, got the well documented blank screen.Since I had already applied the 9.0.0 hot fixes, I decided to re-install 9.0.0 to give myself a clean surface to do the 9.0.1 update (yesterday). I installed 9.0.0, configured my environment, and tested my application to make sure I had my data source connections correct. I then re-applied the update without any errors. I even configured the webserver configuration manually (I had seen notes on the net that this fixed many blank screen problems) with the same results.

CFGRID Selectmode=Row update control issue

I am running CF 9.0 Enterprise edition with the latest hotfixes with MS SQL Server 2000 DB; Windows 2003 R2SP2, IIS 6.0.

I'm having a very basic CFGRID issue that is eluding me and am hoping for some help.

I have a basic CFGRID with selectmode=Row, appendkey="Yes", and an href on a cfgridcolumn to allow for an update on the full record selected from the grid. Once the record has been updated, control passes from the cfm module that has the cfquery update back to the original cfgrid using a cflocation url. Once I select the same record again using the cfgrid, it appears as though the record has not been updated - until I refresh the browser. I'd like to be able to select the record from the grid a be presented with the updated record. I am assuming it is a timing issue.

Nothing on the grid has changed (because my query to load the grid doesn't select all of the values), so I don't think I need to refresh the grid. Any ideas on what I need to get the updated record? Like I stated before, this is a basic cfgrid, nothing fancy.

Any help or hints you can provide is greatly appreciated.

CFMAIL and Outlook Voting Buttons??

I am running CF version 9 Enterprise on a Windows 2003 R2SP2 maichine using the company smtp server for sending out e-mails. Our company e-mail system is MS Outlook (either 2003 or 2007 depending on how old your OS is).

Does anyone know if there is a way to simulate attaching a MS Outlook's voting button (a very simple YES/NO button)? I've looked through the latest version of documentation and have found nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

CF 9 Upgrade process Ran All Scheduled Tasks

I just completed the upgrade process from CF8 Enterprise to CF9 Enterprise on our test system, Windows 2003 R2P2 using IIS6 and SQL Server 2000. I have no schedule tasks with an active schedule, but the upgrade process ran all of the tasks. Running all of the scheduled tasks created 200+ e-mails.

Any ideas on what happened? I ran the coldfusion_9_wwe_win.exe and installed the CF9 ODBC and CF9 SOIR services.

If this happened on my TEST system (with no actively scheduled tasks) what's going to happen when I upgrade my production system?

Downloading HotFix Question - not finding .JAR file

Might be a simple answer - but . . .

I recently was working on installing the fix for APSB09-09 - potential Coldfusion 8 input sanitization issue. Instructions say to 'download and unzip the hot fix. If you hover over the words hor fix, the bottom address box shows http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/downloads/hf801-77218.jar. When I click on this, I get a file download box for hf801-77218.zip. I save the file and unzip it. There is no jar file in this unzipped directory.

What am I supposed to point the ColdFusion Administrator to? Usually I point it to the jar file, but I don't have one. Do I point it to the hf801-77218.zip file? Or do I just replace these files manually to the correct directory folders?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

I currently am running CF 8.0.1 on a Windows 2003 server, IIS 6.0 and SQL Server 2000 in a production environment. I am testing this configuration on a Windows Vista Business workstation. Everything seems to work as normal, except for modules that create Excel spreadsheets that are viewed via the Web. I have them coded using:

With a table definition, and cfloop to load the table.
This opens up in a Web page, with the option to open or save the file. Using a Vista workstation, the table opens up in Excel, not using a Web page. Although this probably is not an issue, the behavior is different. Does anyone know: Is this the expected behavior? Is there a way to force it to behave the same - opening up a Web browser page instead of Excel?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

cfoutput query within HTML Select

I have am update screen that allows the users to update the 'payment date' on a record. A simple query should load the available dates to be used to update this value.

The value that appears on the screen is the current value of get_record.payment_date, but when you click on the drop-down arrow, you get all the values in the calendar table, not just the answerset from the query. Any ideas why?

I have a list of dollar amounts that get totaled over a cfloop and query:

It appears that once it hits the input payment_amt of 11354914264.600, the FileDollar goes from two decimal positions to one.
Is there any way to convert the text field to numeric before it gets totaled?

Can't Get to CF Administrator

Our security team installed several Windows security patches last evening (MS07-042, MS08-026, MS08-027 and MS08-028) to my production web server. This morning I tried to verify that everything works. I can get into my application without any issue, but when I try to get into the CF Administrator, I receive the following error:

Could not find the ColdFusion Component or Interface CFIDE.adminapi.administrator.
Ensure that the name is correct and that the component or interface exists.

CF8 Enterprise and MS SQL Server

I need to port a CF8 Enterprise applcation off an MS Access DB to an existing MS SQL Server database/environment (I guess I am technically piggy-backing my database into an existing 'instance'). I have created my SQL Server database, loaded it from the old Access database, and am now looking to connect to it from the CF Administrator.
I am receiving the "java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection." error. I've left the id and password fields blank, thus causing this error. I've checked, and the server properties (using SQL Sever Enterprise Manager) and validiated that it is set for mixed mode authentication (both SQL Server and Windows), but can't get any further.
Any ideas?

CF8 Upgrade - Scheduled tasks error out

I just successfully upgraded from CF6 MX to CF8, but am now having problems executing my scheduled tasks. My environment is Windows 2003 R2 SP2 (32 bit), Access 2000 (I know), IIS6 and CF8 with cumulative hot fix 3.

Everything is working well except for my scheduled tasks. It is giving the 'Error while executing task 503 Service Unavailable' error message in the scheduler.log, and the generic list of errors on the scheduled task screen.

*The scheduled task is paused
*The URL is a redirection URL.
*The URL is protected by IIS NT Challenge/Response or Apache .htaccess password. The Username and *Password text fields for editing a scheduled task are intended to support Basic Authentication only.
*The Domain Name lookup failed. Try using the IP address of the domain whenever possible.
*The URL is an SSL site, but the SSL port was specified incorrectly.
*The Web site is not responding.
*The directory specified for published results does not exist.

These jobs were converted by the upgrader process, but I have verrified that all the jobs exist in the directory it is pointing to. I am assuming that it might bean issue with the IIS configuration, but am stumpted. Any help is greatly appreciated.

JAVA Codebase - change default value in 8

I have just upgraded our test environment from MX 6.1 to ColdFusion 8. Environment = Windows 2003 R2 SP2, IIS 6.0, MS Access DB (I know, I'm working on porting to MS SQL).

My site uses SSL, and it appears that anytime I open a page that uses a JavaScript, I get the 'This page has secure and nonsecure . . . ' Windows pop-up. I have checked every link in the code and have found nothing in my CF code that would create this message. Everything referred to is within the SSL covered directories.

I compared the production MX 6.1 source code to the version 8 code, and have come up with the following:

Client Variable Purge

I am at my wits end trying to fix what I think is a client variable problem. I am currently running CFMX 6.1 + updaters on a Windows 2003 R2 SP1standard edition server with IIS 6.0. Since implementing with this server (01/2007), we have installed all the necessary Windows patches for security every month. I have installed hot fixes for client variables (TN 19590) and a few others for COM and cfforms issues. I have experienced CF 'hanging'; not allowing anyone into the application. I shut down the CF MX Application service, the CF MX ADBC agent, and try to shut the CF MX ODBC server, but it remains in a 'stopping' state, with a reboot the only cure.

While trying to troubleshoot the problem, I have come across the following error:

That's it - nothing else. I have searched high an low, finding similar errors, but they all have an additional error message like outOfBounds. This error appears up to 200 times per day, some within seconds of each other. (I never really looked at the logs, but it has been occurring since I brought up each server, test and production). I mentioned the client variable fix above because of the references in the error message like 'ClientScopeServiceImpl.PersistClientVariables'. I am using an Access DB to store the client variables, with a purge date of 90 days. Within the Access DB there are the CDATA and CGLOBAL tables, but with only 278 records in each. I inheritated the system in version 4.5, and have upgrade to 5 and the to 6.1, so I have never really looked at client variables before.

Any ideas? Could these errors be created every time someone logs onto the application? Your time and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Problems with 7.0.2 Install

I am trying to install the 7.0.2 version (downloaded from the Adobe website) onto a server using VMWARE running Windows 2003 R2 SP2.

I have tried multiple times installing silently and configuring the webserver manually. No errors, but when I go to open up the administrator, I immediately receive the password pop-up. I know,. probably a permissions issue, (am having the SA verify that I truely have admin rights) but . . . I have noticed looking at the services that I only see a listing for 'ColdFusion MX 7 Application Server', and not one for 'ColdFusion MX 7 ODBC Server'. I should get a 'ColdFusion MX 7 ODBC Server' listing in Services, right? Any ideas?

Scheduled Tasks - Daily every . . .

I have found that I am having problems with my 'recurring' daily scheduled tasks. My server (Windows 2003 with latest updates, IIS 6, MX6.1 with all updates, MS Access) is re-booted nightly. When the services start back up, the scheduled tasks 'schedule' themselves.

Different Results for CFADMIN

I have CFMX 6.1 (with the latest updaters installed) using IIS 6 on a Windows 2003 R2 SP1 machine. Because of security reasons, I must view/update the CFADMIN via a regular Internet Explorer session from my local desktop PC, not from the server. No problem for me, but a co-worker - whom just got an newer PC, (in the same security group) accesses the CFADMIN website and after the login screen, only gets the right two-thirds of the screen to appear. the Home and logout areas are visable, but the Server Settings area through the Security area is a big white space. I''ve tried replacing the navserver.cfm module with no avail.

It must be a local desktop PC setting, right? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
