Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?

Is Adobe working on a fix for Ext. Mgr?

I believe that if one can install and enable even one app for 2014 that works (e.g., new Kuler app), then the extensions window link won't be grayed out any longer. BUT, the rest of the problems remain.

This is very disruptive of many people's work flow. Is there any available answer? Is there a fix in the works? What are we to do please? I would appreciate any response at all from Adobe.

G

I assume this is because I still have LR 4 on my computer. Will I run into any problems if I remove the older program and then delete the older catalog? I assume 4-2 contains everything from the older catalog, plus the data created subsequently. But, since 4-2 is an upgraded 4, I want to be sure that deleting 4 will not affect 4-2.

I'm not sure how and when LR creates new catalogs, since it doesn't behave exactly as described in the Help files (e.g., never created LR5 catalog when the program was first opened). I have already deleted, without incident, older catalogs that LR created without my being aware of them or knowing what was in them. How and why does it do this? (I use only one catalog for all my photos and do not create others.)

I could really use the added disk space, but I obviously don't want to have to start again from backups, so I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Many thanks.

Gail

p.s. I run Window 7 on a Dell laptop and backup LR regularly on an external drive.

PS and AI (CC and also CS6) often won't open unless I run as administrator.
