Catalog Discounts Automatically Setup

My client wants to be able to offer customers Catalog Discounts in there E-Commerce Shop. This is possible by letting a customer sign up for an account and then going into the Manage Cutomer Subscriptions area in the backend and manually adding a % to each catalog.

My question is is there any way to do this automatically when a user sign up for there account? (i.e. apply 10% discount to certain categories for anyone that signs up to a certain Secure Zone?). Not sure if this is possible through basic forms or if in theory possible through API?

Orders take over a minute to open

Wondering if anyone is having this problem?

Basically when opening orders if the value of the order is above say £200 then the order takes a long time to open - we are talking at least a minute for smaller orders and a LOT more than that for orders of several hundred pounds.

I have submitted this to the Support team over 5 weeks ago - no reply (it was escalated to 2nd level but no reply from them).

Can you set a product list to be ordered by 'weightreverse' intsead of 'Weight'?

Cant seem to get this work with my products?

I have in the weighting field reverse dates so 20120405, and want them ordered by this date (the oldest date first).

Is this possible to order in reverse?

How accurate is the Country Code Detection Module?

I have put Country Code detection on a clients website but it does not work 100%. For example our company network shows up as 'RU' even though it used to show up as GB (we changed our broadband).

I just wanted to give a simple explanation to my client as to how the Country code is assigned and why it may not work 100% all the time?

Pre-fill dropdown in customer details

Hi Guys

Any idea how to pre-fill dropdown menus with an account holders previously submitted information?

Fro example if they are a member of a secure zone and have submitted there Salutation as Mr then i dont want them to have to re-select that everytime they update there details. Also i want to pre-fill in the Salutation or Country at Checkout.

Any ideas much appreciated

Hi All,

I have a question about products comments/reviews. On the list view of a product can you show the total number of comments/reviews a product has had (using the native comments module)? Not sure if this is possible out of the box but perhaps there is a workaround using the rating stars? (as these can be displayed on list view)

Export orders from one site and import into another?

Is it possible to import orders into a BC site (and associate with customers)?

If not possible manually is this possible in theory with the API? (and would it keep the same order date etc?)

Pass parameter in URL?

Hi Guys, there used to be a forum or KB article about how to pass a url parameter from one page to another to populate a form field on the second page. I cant seem to find this on the new forums, can anyone point me in the right directions?

FlashPaper painfully slow compared to PDF??

Does anyone know why FlashPaper is so slow to run when compared to the PDF version of this document? There are a lot of shapes in the document guess, but it runs so quick in a PDF.

This is only 1 section of about 10 so when i do 300 odd pages FlashPaper just crashes the computer. I have tried lots of different raster and vector settings when i print from PDF but nothing changes except for when i print as an 'image' and this is very quick to view but when you zoom out text becomes messy and unreadable.

Anybody got any ideas?

A great new feature would be....

I think a great new feature would be to be able to have editable Library Items in Contribute. This way I could put a latest news section down the side of all my clients pages within a site and then if i set it as editable then they could open it up and change the news only once but then it would update the content throughout the site.

I did try and come up with a solution with i-frames whereby a client could go to an external page and edit their news which would then update all other pages but it was too much of a pain to set up.

Anyone else have any thoughts or solutions for this??

'codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked' Annoying Problem

Hi

I some code in the top of my ASP.net website (below) and I have codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false". All I want to be able to to do is change the CodeFile="filname.aspx.vb" file name to a different name in each page based in the template. You would think that this would work as Dreamweaver should not change anything outside the HTML code but it just wipes whatever I change in pages based on the template to be the code that is in the top of the template .dwt file.

It even warns me that "Any changes made to the template outside the HTML will not be copied to subsequent pages unless I change "codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked" to "true" so I cannot for the life of me figure out why it keeps changing it.

I can put any other text in the top of the template and it doesnt change that, it just for some reason doesnt work with the code below

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated
