Set BC to error out if account exists

When I "create an account" and enter details, IF the email is already in the system, I get NO error and NOTHING happens.

Is there a way to set the system to warn a user that an account already exists to avoid confusion?

Is there a way to add formatting to the attributes so they display better in the shopping cart?

EG: This looks like crap

X-Stand Vinyl Banners (1 -;US (lower 48 states included);Rush +25;Front Design 1)

Would like it to look something like

X-Stand Vinyl Banners:

US (lower 48 states included)

Rush +25

Front Design 1)

Maybe adding \n\r or <br /> to the insert/input??

Can we require login (creating an account) to make a purchase?

We are setting up our store and want everyone to make an account in order to make a purchase. It's a closed system (for one company) and we want them in the CRM for support and tracking or issues, etc.

Is there a setting somewhere to require this?
