Can gateway be used to create separate channels and space

I have been reading about gateways and want to build a new CF11 application to use it. What I want is that my application can comunicate with operators in the field, two ways, realtime, so that every operator has his own personal postbox. Is this possible?

Moving from CF8 and Flex to CF alone

Do you have experience changing your application from CF8 and Flash/Flex to only CF? If so, how do you replace the Flash/Flex part? Any experiences to share?

Coldfusion and Flex or just Coldfusion

So an application I have inheritted has been running for some years with CF8 and Flex. It assigns tasks, appointmnts, rest days, holidays of our operators. The operators open the application on their laptop or available PC. But we think that this system is somehow old and slow and we think we needs more interaction with the operators.

One xample of what we need. It would be nice if the operator can inform the app about realtime changes so that another operator can be despatched for backup. Also the operators want to have their own space and communication channels.

We want to make the system easier to use. If possible using Coldfusion only. With Ajax? I don't know if this is possible. Any ideas?

validate cfinput datefields

I am a beginner and I am searching how to validate the cfinput datefields, for example. How can you get the days, months and years of the flash form. What are the functions? Do you know how or where I can get this information? Thanks.

CF 8 exam advice

I am new in Coldfusion and Flash. I want to go for the exam. Any advice?

How much study hours? CF8 or CF9? My chances as beginner? Are they still giving 'advanced' and non advanced diplomas?
