Hi,

Chrome 64bit (beta+) crashes on Win8.1 64bit, if I use the NPAPI Flash Player (v15 beta or v14 stable) and open a website with Flash content.

What about to add a telemetry data function to Flash Player & Air similar to Mozilla's about:telemetry / metrics.mozilla.com ?

Hello Adobe,

because the windows users don't understand why they (sometimes) have to install both types (ActiveX & NPAPI) of the Flash Player, the installer should install both types at once !

I see lot of messages like "I have Flash installed but getting a message Flash is not installed".

I think the best way is to use a small web installer with these options (two checkboxes, both active as default):

- ActiveX for Internet Explorer and some other Programs (like Outlook Express)

- NPAPI for Firefox, Opera, Chrome*, ...

[next button]

The webinstaller should then download the (offline) installers based on the the user selection.

This will solve many user confusions.

The Flash Player should have a blacklist for old drivers that have known problems like "green video", crashes, ...

If a user has such old drivers a pop-up message should appear with a message "Your [graphics/sound/...] drivers have known bugs so please update at least to version [x.y.z]" and with a vendor download link.

I see to many users reporting problems with drivers older than 2011. New drivers fixing many of the reported problems.

Buffering/caching produces to much cpu load ?!

I see "high" cpu load while buffering/caching videos.

For example (720p): http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ou6_MkIvKOo?wmode=direct&hd=1

TestPC with Flash Player 11.2.202.183 (hwa enabled)

a) opened the example

b) pause the playback and watched the cpu usage with Task Manager

c) while buffering/loading I have about 35% cpu load with active-x (IE9) and about 45% cpu load with plugin (Firefox Nightly / Opera Next)

d) after complete loading the playback uses only about 5% cpu load with active-x (IE9) and about 10% cpu load with plugin (Firefox Nightly / Opera Next)

I think this is the most reason for "stuttering" (not smooth playing/frame drops) streaming content (on low end devices) because there is a continues buffering/caching.

In my opinion buffering/caching should use less cpu/gpu usage than playback.

Please try to optimize it.

Hello

it would be nice to have a setting for "prevent energy saving (turn off the display) in fullscreen view" so we don't have to move the mouse every few minutes or to change the energy saving settings if we watch a longer flash video.

Zattoo + FP11 none IE + 16:10 fullscreen = thick black borders

there seems to be still problems with 16:10 monitors and www.Zattoo.com (germany) with Flash Player 11 (none IE) in fullscreen mode.

As you can see there are thick black borders around the video:

Tested today with Firefox Nightly 20110923 32&64bit, Opera 12 build 1065 and Google Chrome Canary 16.0.890.0 & dev-m 16.0.889.0

Flash Player 11.0.1.129 (32&64bit) & 11.0.1.148 (32bit)

With Internet Explorer 9 32&64bit I have only the small borders on the top and bottom (that is normal and expected):

Google Chrome Canary has now v.11.0.1.152 build in.

To use it with Firefox, Opera, ...

(only 32-bit browsers)

Win7 x64 path example:

I have reported it to you too (bugbase.adobe.com / Area = Browser Integration) but got a message like "for security reasons it will not be public visible" so I don't have a Bug-ID.

Update 1:

10.3.183.5 = seems to crash

10.3.183.7 = no crash

So the fixes from .5 to.7 are not yet in the Flash Player 11

Bad video quality compared to v10.3

Hello

with Flash Player v.11.0.1.60 the videos have a bad quality ("grainy") compared to v.10.3.181.34

In fullscreen mode you can see it very good.

tested with:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9

Mozilla Firefox Nightly

www.tape.tv

www.qtom.tv/flash/

www.zattoo.com

...

on two different PC's

a) ATI / AMD HD 4670 AGP - Catalyst v11.1 - default settings

b) nVidia GT240 - Geforce v.275.33 - default settings

Anyone with the same/similar problem?
