Can you update a web app's weighting field automatically??

I'm having a real hard time understanding why we have the power in BC to build web apps but can't sort data the way we want through automation... I realize at this point, the only way to sort my items by date is to manipulate the weighting field. However, I’m building a user driven site with all user submitted content and it needs to be available immediately. Now, obviously results are posted online as soon as they are submitted but as of now, the only automatic way to display results that makes any sense is by a Recent Activity listing or Alphabetical.

Is there any way to automate updating an item's weighting field so that results can be available in order of, for example, Event Date (custom date field)?????

HELP PLEASE - all this power sure seems like a waste if you can't manipulate your results accordingly!!

Is there a way to show only web app items based on the custom date field? For example, i want the module to only show web app item(s) whose "event date" is "today".... ?? Help please!

Updating Credit card deatils for recurring orders

I feel like i'm missing something obvious here, but how do my site users update their billing (credit card details) for their recurring orders? I'm using PayPay Website Pro and i'm not realy sure how that all works. What module do I use and how does that connect to paypal for the update??

Maybe I'm missing something obvious but - is there anyway to customize the opt-in and unsubscibe confirmation forms? The {tag_confirmation_form,cofirm} is quite plain and hideous! Is there a way to make or use a more stylish form here??

How do I create and use styles in content holders?

I have created a MUSE site and am preparing it for CMS client use with Content holders, which is working perfect. However, my styles aren't showing up in the list when adding content to the holders. My styles show up on editing a page, but not when editing a content holder. Because MUSE and BC pages don't really work well together, I don't want clients editing actual pages. Just the content holders.

How or can i do this? I'm new to BC so I haven't been able to figure this out.

My composition widget is not working after the November Update

Since i republished said site, my composition widget doesn't change when targets are hovered over, containers are not matched up with the right targets and the text is missing off the targets on a couple as well.

Can you charge a monthly charge for a webapp item?

I'm using a webapp to collect & to sell ads on my site. I then manually place them in the ad rotators. But i need monthly billing and i have 3 options, all different prices. So i'm trying to avoid using secure zones for the $$.

Should i just place the credit card field on my input form and then manually create an order once everything is complete? I'm not sure what the best process is for this. Any input from others selling ads and providing business users with a front end user interface would be greatly appreciated!!

How to automatically update the Expiry Date's number of days

My web app input form is an event submission form. Users enter the event title, event date and other details, etc. I've figured out how to get the "expiry days" in the form and it be hidden but i can't figure out how to calculate this:

(today's date) - (event date) + 1 day = number of days to expire and then set the expiry days to that value upon submission.

I have tried writing the js but am getting no where, has anyone out there already accomplished this? I've researched and researched and find a million things on calculating the number of days but can't get one of them to work for my situation here... any help would be greatly appreciated!!

My create account form is "ignoring errors"??

My secure zone Create account form is ignoring important errors. First if the passwords do not match it just says -ignored. It also creates a strange error when you leave out information, instead of the browser window popping up to give the warning message. Below is a screen shot of ignored errors... I thought at first it was because i incorrectly added the email verifcation js, but even after i removed it, it get these weird Form Submission errors. I would like the submit button to catch these errors and keep the submission from happening, unless validated. Thanks for ANY help!

Sub Master pages not publishing correctly since Feb 2013 Update

My secondary master page is not publishing correctly since the last update. Specifically, the transparency on the header is much lower than it should be. Also, my google calendar html is not appearing now... What's going on??? I now have big gaping holes on pages where this information should be. Also, everything works fine in Chrome, this is just on internet explorer.
