Strange import error (lightroom 5, Mavericks)

I synched my folder to Lightroom a few days ago and got the following message:

Failed to find a place for the imported file. (2)

/Volumes/photos-by-year/data/photos/_By Year/Family/bmp/Dad - 2:11:2012.JPG

/Volumes/photos-by-year/data/photos/_By Year/Rock and Roll/Blue Oyster Cult/12:31:74 newspaper article.jpg

I don't understand this.

It found the photos and doesn't know what to do with them?

The first picture was taken by an iPhone5 and copied to disk with the name: Dad - 2/11/2012.jpg.

I've since learned that my system isn't always happy with that particular date format (and I now use yyyymmdd - no problems), but the error message is unhelpful.

OS X print dialog in cc 2014

I want to create a letter size ART print with a .psd that has been resized to print. Going into the print dialog, I choose an icc profile, set the paper to Letter Size ART on layout and handling and see the image is cut off in the preview.

I figured I'd print it anyway, and was told the image was too big for this printer. I saved the file and closed CC 2014.

I opened CC, opened the file and hit print.

After configuring it as I had for CC 2014, the image was now scaled properly with the correct borders, as expected; and printed properly.

I'm using the same plugins in both programs (although they've been modified for the CC 2014 version).

Help???

Application Moved - and it hasn't

when I export from LR5 to edit an image in Photoshop CC, I get a box announcing:

Application Moved

The application has been moved, and its path has

changed. To update the product configuration, click

update.

Do Not Update Update

I get this message EVERY TIME (although only once per session) I invoke Photoshop from Lightroom.

Of interest is this: when I launched Photoshop before launching Lightroom in the hope it would pass the image to the open program, Lightroom gave the error message anyway and opened another Photoshop session. I didn't think you could have two sessions running parallel and independantly.

I had CS6 installed when I installed LR5. Then I installed CC. Some time later, I used Adobe's uninstaller to remove CS6.

There's only a single version of Photoshop on my Mac - in Applications.

Somewhere in the system, Lightroom is reading a parameter set that's confusing it. That's the most likely cause to one who doesn't know the internals even though I looked through all of the user and system files that I could find that appeared to be related.

Is there a file I can tweak or is there another way of resolving this annoyance?

Cannot add package named WFSQLiteTests

I've been experiencing this problem since LR5 was released and worked with Support to try to identify the cause —but the debug tool adobe gave me didn't show what was happening during startup.

This time, I disabled all of my plugins, exited and restarted Lightroom.

These messages appeared in the System Log:

I've seen the "Oops!" message on a regular bases, but the messages: "Cannot add package named WFSQLiteTests" and "!! Did you remember to add a copy frameworks step to your project?" look like pointers to the problem.

Anyone have an idea?

I posted this error before and I worked with someone in Support to try to identify what is happening, where and why.

Unfortunately, Adobe doesn't have the proper tools (for distribution to customers) to debug this and, using the available tool to monitor startup, nothing is found.

But the problem, introduced in Lightroom 5, has never gone away.

Me aside, anyone come across this message when starting up Lightroom (Mavericks)?

Help requested: Missing CC extension purchased in CS6

I licensed an extension on May 18, 2013 (Double USM) through Adobe Exchange. Even though the vendor has upgraded his software to work with CC, it doesn't show up under "My Stuff".

I shouldn't have to purchase it again — this should be in a database linked to my account (somewhere on Adobe's systems, I imagine).

How can I get this fixed? To whom should I send a copy of the order?

After installing the latest update to Lightroom 5, I started getting this message when I started Lightroom:

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5[4407]: Oops! An untagged string (assertion failed!) got thrown far enough that we display it to the user. This shouldn't happen.

From what I've found through searches, plugins may be related to the problem.

The problem I'm having here is the lack of any information - no crash log, no reference to what caused this - in any log file. I've taken the most recently installed or updated pugins and moved them elsewhere to test and am still getting this message.

I assume that when I see "This shouldn't happen" as a message from the software, that it's a significant warning. What can go wrong / is going wrong as a result of the related problem? Is my data in danger?

All help gratefully appreciated.

after installing v5.3, I'm getting this error on startup (OS X 10.9). I did NOT get this error with the release candidate.

Any ideas?

How can I extract parts of the EXIF metadata to use in a Smart Collection?

I want to aggregate all of the images I've captured by Capture Month and identify those images that were scanned or have no Capture Date. This question actually attempts to open the door for read access to all of the image metadata and the ability to store some of it in user-identified fields which, somehow, the user will be able to populate.

So - if the date fields (i.e. DateTime Original, DateTime Captured, DateTime Modified ) were broken down into, for example using DateTime Original: Original Year-YYYY, Original Month-MM, Original Day-DD. It may be possible to do this with a redefination of the schema used to define each of the fields. That would be the simpliest, easiest way - if that's possible.

If it isn't possible (or not in the near future, anyway) does anyone have any ideas?

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.3 RC[7442]: Error initializing alternate universe

OS X 10.8.2

I was getting odd errors while in the Develop Module indicating issues with the database. I didn't copy them because I assumed they'd be in the system log and I'd be able to retrieve them.

Surprisingly, there were NO indications of any errors or error messages in any of the logs.

I started the Optimize Catalog utility to see if it would resolve itself, however it's been running for over an hour on my Mac Pro with 24GB RAM. The Activity Manager says it's not hung; however I don't think it's working properly, either.

Is my problem unique?

Once I installed the beta of Photoshop 6, Lightroon 4 will not allow me to edit in Photoshop 5. Photoshop 6 is the default and I can't figure out how to change that.

I can, of course, uninstall the beta and the default should go back to the other installed version. But there's got to be a preference file or something similar in application support that gives the path of Photoshop to Lightroom.

All I want to do is to edit that.

Can anyone help?

I'm able to specify a desired profile from tose already on my system; however when I print, I use Absolute/Relative. Intent seems fixed at Perceptual/Relative.

How can I change that? Is is changeable?

How about an update to sRGB?

I noticed a remark about one of my images (I think it was via an EXIF web tool) that my color space sRGB was an old version.

There appears to be some newer models: ei-sRGB, i-sRGB (these two nay be identical) and sRGB v4.

All of these enlarge the sRGB colorspace. I wonder why Adobe hasn't upgraded their version. LR4 might be a good place for it.

Does anyone have some thoughts about this?
