Slide ID Number

I'm not sure if anyone has done much with exporting captions. However, with what I'm working on it is very important that I use this tool. Something I would REALLY love to know is where the Slide ID is located. When you export captions in a Captivate Project (which by the way I am using Captivate 8), there is a slide ID Number in the left collumn. Where would I find this ID number outside of the exported caption file?

Combining Captivate Projects in Captivate 8

How do I combine multiple Captivate projects together easily in Captivate 8? Not whole projects, but I would like to add slides from other Captivate projects into the project I am currently building. I don't want to link to other projects or use the SCORM Packager, but just add slides from other Captivate Projects.

Retaking a Quiz After Reviewing? (Cp 8)

Hello all,

It is my understanding that before Cp 8 the student was unable to review the quiz and then retake it as well. I'm assuming that is still the case in Cp 8 (that is what I've experienced). However, I just wanted to make sure there was no way around it that I haven't found yet. Thank you!

Audio/Button Issues (Cp 8)

On Google Chrome, my audio works and my custom navigation buttons are clickable but don't do anything. On Firefox, the audio doesn't play at all, but the navigation buttons work perfectly. Also, when I open the published folder and open the index file straight from there both work. I really need help on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

LMS Cutting Off Part of Slides (Cp 8)

When I Publish/Zip/Upload SCORM Package to my Joomla LMS, a large amount of the bottom of my project (Responsive) is cut off. How would I fix this? Within Captivate or on my LMS?

Custom Navigation Buttons Don't Show on LMS (Cp 8)

I have buttons on each each slide that return to the previous slide, replay current slide w/audio (advanced action), and go to the next slide. They show and work in preview, but now that it is on my LMS the buttons do not show up at all. Any ideas anyone?

Exporting and Importing Text (Specifically for Translation)

I need to find a way to efficiently export text from InDesign, have it translated, and then re-imported in the original positions. I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. Captivate can do it extremely easily, now I just need to get it done with my InDesign projects. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

NeoSpeech is failing when using Chinese

I have Captivate 8 installed on Windows 7 Professional. I have been using the NeoSpeech Function quite a bit, and it has been incredibly useful until now. I recently translated my project to Chinese (simplified) and when I put the Chinese text into NeoSpeech (With the voice "yumi") It says "Error occurred while generating Text to Speech Audio for Slide 1, Slide 2, Slide 3, etc. ) It will however complete the Audio Generation with other voices that don't pronounce Chinese well at all.

$ Sign does not display in preview of Responsive Project (Captivate 8)

Why is it that a $ sign (Specifically $$$) Does not display at all in the preview of my Responsive Project but does in a regular project? I even tried putting a "-" before the dollar signs and it displayed the "-" but not the "$" That is not right.. Also, in preview my text is not displayed the same as it is in Captivate. It has moved a few things that really screw everything up. Some text boxes act like they have been shrunk once they go into Preview. The text isn't on the same lines. Also, some bullet points are in the wrong places..

Preview of Responsive Project Does not work right

I have designed a Responsive Project in Captivate (8) and when I go to preview it, it does not look the same as it does in Captivate in my browser, and the "continue" button I have appear once the audio is finished doesn't ever appear. I have certain sections of text that have bullet points, and only the first bullet point shows, and on another there is an extra bullet point at the bottom with no text (I checked and it isn't really there). I've tried to run this in my Chrome browser, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. It does the same thing on all three browsers. Everything looks perfect in Captivate. I don't understand.

Responsive Project Parent/Child Issues

I am doing a responsive projects in Captivate 8 and certain things (Shape Position Mostly) change all the way back to the primary screen when I change them in the tablet and mobile slides. I thought things didn't change in the parent when you changed them in the child/grandchild views. How do I fix this??

Rollover Sidelet disappears after a few seconds even when the mouse hasn't left the "hit area."

Rollover Sidelet disappears after a few seconds even when the mouse hasn't left the "hit area." There is enough text in the sidelet that the user cant read it all before it disappears on its own. Then they have to move their mouse off the hit area and back on it to see it for another 5 seconds. How do I fix this?

PowerPoint Slides into Captivate Responsive Project

I would like to bring a PowerPoint presentation into captivate using the responsive project functions. Basically, I would like to use my PowerPoint slides but be able to format them for mobile use as well. How should I go about this?

I have set the quiz to If fails jump to (First Slide) - Thus forcing them to watch the presentation over again. I would like the quiz to regain it's original functionality if possible. Is there any way around this?

PowerPoint Slides Advancing in Captivate 8

I have brought my PowerPoint Presentation into Captivate 8, and want to ONLY allow the slides to advance with a button or Small Text Box with Text in it. NOT when clicking anywhere else on the slide. How do I do this? Every time I preview the presentation I can click wherever I want on the slide and it Plays the presentation and continues disregarding the Button. I have the "Pause project until user clicks" box checked and also there is no click box that is covering the entire slide. Making this happen in Captivate 4 was easier..
