CFB3 New install gives trial expired notice

Win 7-64bit, CF 11.

Tried installing a new download of CFB3 ( 8/21/2014 download ) and came up with a "Standard edition trial expired" problem. I participated in the CFB3 alpha and beta, but never tried the released version. Is there a way to completely clean out CFB3 so I can try the released CFB3?

Are nested server side includes supported in DW?

Using DW 5.5 on Win 7, Apache 2.2 setup. Does DW Design view support nested server-side includes? I have to work on an old legacy site with nested ssi's that I haven't worked on for quite awhile, and I noted that while working on a page the left side column was not displaying in Display mode, so where the left column should be is just an empty blank div.

I could swear that DW used to display the nested ssi's, but looking at it now, it certainly isn't.

The left side column is just a div that is ssi included in the bodies of the pages ( nothing special ). It ssi includes various pieces such as news, announcements, etc. Everything displays fine on the website, but in the Design view the nested SSI's don't display.

CF10 Install freeze on Add Web Server Configuration

Installing CF10 64-bit Dev edition on Win 7-64 and Apache 64 bit. When I get to the Add Web Server Configuration and click on the Configuration Directory button to open the directory tree, the install freezes. I have to stop the install using the task manager. Any ideas what is causing the problem. It's like the java app for the directory tree is not initializing and just freezing up everything. Java 7 update 25 is installed.

I was running CF9 with no problem on this machine. It was uninstalled before doing the CF10 install. I had no problems installing CF10 on my other machine

RDS error after installation

Just installed CF 10 beta on Win 7 32bit and Apache 2.2.22. No errors detected on install or startup. RDS selected to run in Admin.

Running files locally in FF, Deramweaver and CFB 2beta and everything looks like it is working fine.

However, trying to connect to RDS is not working.

In Dreamweaver 5.x, trying to connect gives the following..

"The server name or address could not be resolved. Possible reasons:

1. The URL specified for this site's testing may be incorrect.

2. The testing server may be incorrectly configured. e.g. CF may not be running"

CF files run fine inside and outside of DW. The URL is correct too.

In CFB 2 beta, I also get an error in RDS Configuration when hitting the test button.

'Unable to contact the RDS Server "localhost". This can be caused by incorrect configuration on either the client or the server.'

Please verify your connection ... blah blah blah.

The HTTP request to talk to your server returned with the following message: 'Could not initialize class com.adobe.rds.core.services.Messages'

Localhost is set up as local port 80, selected CF+Tomcat.

Document Root = c:\inetpub\wwwroot

Server Home = c:\coldfusion10\cfusion

I feel like I'm missing something, soI tried uninstalling CF10 and reinstalled CF9. Both DW and CFB correctly connected to RDS when I set it up. RDS Dataview and RDS Fileview both worked correctly. Uninstalling CF9 and reinstalling CF10 resulted in the same errors. RDS did not work.

What am I missing?

Cannot get RDS Query Viewer to work

This appears to be the same or similar problem with RDS Query Viewer that showed up in Ver 2.0.

Right clicking on a table and selecting RDS Query Viewer gives the following error:

Resource '/mydir/.rdsTempFiles/RDS Query Viewer does not exist.

The .rdsTempFiles directory with RDS Query Viewer file are created in mydir. The file is 0 bytes.

Anyone else seeing this?

Query Viewer not working

New install of CFB 2 on Win 7 32bit with CF901.

When right clicking on a database table in RDS Dataview I get an error , I get the error "/MyProject/.rdsTempFiles/RDS Query Viewer does not exist". The same is happening when trying to open the RDS Query Viewer.

This works correctly in CFB 1.

Any suggestions what is going on? Is it a permissions issue or something similar? The .rdsTempFiles directory is created in the /MyProject folder and shows up in the Navigator.

Multiple Error Messages CFB2 after hotfix installation

Hi,

I just installed the CFB2 Hotfix on Windows 7 pro 64 AND 32bit machines and now get a ton of startup errors in the error log. I have no idea what is causing this. Here is a small part of the error log. I have tried starting with the -clean option and still get the errors. It's approx. 900 lines of messages.

Any way to remove the cause of these?

Server-side includes not working

Running CF9.x on Apache 2.2 Win 7.

I inherited an older html multiple page site that we are breaking down into includes using html server-side includes:

e.g. , and saving the page as a .html file, which is then <cfincluded> in a .cfm file.

Is there a way to get  include working on a CF page? All I see is the contents of the page, but none of the sidebar.html, or header.html, etc.

I know I could switch to cfincludes, but the boss LOVES to muck around with the html side of things.

Are newer builds to CFB 2 beta available? The one I have is Build 277151 from the original download. The update functionality in the beta is apparently turned off (greyed out) and I don't see a download site on Adobe.

CFB in Eclipse Helios

Add buttons to html, css, js, cf tabs

Is there a way of controlling which "quick" buttons ( or whatever they're called ) are displayed on the little tabs just above the text editing area. For example, the cfml tab has a button for cf comments, but the html tab does not for html comments. There are several I would like to add to both cfml and the html tab list but cannot figure out where to go to add them, let alone know what they're called.

Errors in Logfile on CFB Startup

Hi,

Every time I start CFB I get the following error in the log file. Running CFB standalone with latest update on WinXP sp3. Also happens with Win 7 too.

Any ideas what is causing this on my systems and is it really important? CFB seems to run ok otherwise although it does occasionally slow way down to a crawl.

cfinput telephone mask not working with Apache virtual host

WinXP latest sp, CF8, Apache latest version installed. IE8, FF3.5, FF3.01

In this setup I cannot get the telephone mask ( or, for that matter the required="yes" ) to work with a virtual host. If I run the code using http://localhost/cf8test/telephone.cfm it works fine and the mask and required attribute work correctly. If I run it as http://dev.cf8test.com/telephone.cfm then the mask and attribute do not work. Otherwise, the virtual host works correctly. Any suggestions what is going on here?

MSSQL 2k5 cannot connect with CF8

Hi,

I'm setting up CF8 and MSSQL 2005 on a laptop that is normally connected to a domain. When I try to connect a db using the MS SQL Driver I get the following error:

Mail Header displaying in mail body

Hi,

We recently moved our site from a shared CFMX7 server to a shared CFMX8 server. All the code is the same with no changes.

Since the move, several of our clients who receive emails from the site are complaining that they are seeing the section showing the mime-version, etc. in the body of the text as shown below. This ONLY happens when there is an attachment (text file as in xxxxx.txt) and as far as I can tell, only happens to people running Outlook Express. Other mail clients, such as Outlook, Gmail, have no problems.

Read Cookie set by remote server

Hi,

I need to read a cookie set by a remote server and return the results. On the remote server I have an html file with javascript code that reads the cookie. What I want to do is return this to my cf template using something like cfhttp. Is this possible? If I run the code displayed below, I get no cookie info, as though the cookie didn't exist.

Just running the .htm file works fine.

example: www.remoteserver.com/getcookie.htm - displays the cookie that was set on my computer by a program on the remoteserver.com.

Is there any way of retrieving and working with the cookie values?

cfform using cfif in action= causes error

Hi,
Just ran into a code problem I haven't seen before. To use the CF validation for some text input, I've changed some of our <form's to <cfforms> However, If I want to check for the existence of a URL param before trying to send it in the action= of the <cfform, CF screws up the evaluation of other variables. In the example below, the value of the URL variable Stoken becomes "12345<cfif isDefined ......" . This code works fine in a <form action=, but not in <cfform.

I would like to keep the <cfif isDefined() in the code because the alternative is to edit a lot of other templates. Any suggestions why this isn't working?

Hi,
New to DW 8.02 on a WinXP Pro machine. I'm finding that DW 8 (and DW MX2004) will not display a background image inside an <a> tag. Attached is an example code. The page displays correctly in IE 6, FF 2, Opera 9, etc, etc. But in design mode in DW 8 I can't see the graphic at all.

Is there a way to have DW display the graphic? Is this a bug in DW?

Problem setting up database in DWMX 2004

Hi,
Long time CF programmer now using CFMX7 but new to Dreamweaver MX2004. I have a site set up for development on a local machine with the following:

Local - c:\ambassador
Remote - c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ambassador\
Testing - same
URL prefix - http://localhost/ambassador

I have my Access database in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\database\ambassador.mdb and have it set up with DNS name ambassador. It verifies correctly and I have been using it outside of DW for quite a while in my CF templates in Homesite.

My problem is when I look in the Application Databases list the tables all are listed as C:\inetpub\wwwroot\database\ambassador.tablename. If I create a recordset in Bindings, the tables are also listed like this in the table dropdown for the recordset.

Also, after creating a recordset and looking at the code in the template the query shows
SELECT FIRSTNAME, LASTNAME FROM c:\inetpub\wwwroot\database\ambassador.lender

Why don't the tables show as just their name without the full pathname as shown in the documentation? It's impossible to actually see which table is which with the pathname displayed.

Case Sensitive Class/ID names

Hi,

In debugging a css page I noticed that class and id names appear to be case sensitive. I never noticed this before. I haven't found any documentation on this, but it certainly has caused problems on some of our pages. So class="formHeader" is different from class="formheader". Can anyone point me to the documentation for this?

And why would this be the default case? Or is case sensitivity XHTML compliant which is different from HTML compliant?

Create link in css ID

Hi,

I have a banner I display at the top of every page using
<div id="banner"></div>

and

#banner{
height: 74px;
background-image:url(../Images/RBB_header.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-color: #000000;
}

This works fine, but now I want to make the image a link to another site. Is there any way of doing this in css?

Maintaining database connections

Hi all,

What is the general feeling on checking the "Maintain database connections" for MS SQL 2k databases? Should we keep it checked or remove the option?

We've been getting occasional errors such as "Timed out while waiting to obtain exclusive access", and some unknown cflock issues we're trying to run down. The cflock errors are only 1-2/day and we have never seen them before, that is until our recent change over to SQL from Access.

Our site uses MS SQL 2k, CF 5 (soon to upgrade, I hope) on a single processor server. We get about 10-20k hits/day.
