I can not publish to my site.

Error Msg: An Adobe Business Catalyst error has occurred. Status: 503, 0.

NO LINE TOOL?

Please provide us with this most primal drawing tool.

A line tool is the most basic of drawing tools... Forcing us to use "rectangle tool" as a work around... is nothing but a KLUDGE, and causes issues with designs when you upgrade Muse and change the rectangle tool functionality (See "Drop Shadow", Issue, Below).

Drop Shadow Issue In Muse v2.0

For a vertically drawn line, the drop shadow in v1.0 operated like a "line", with the shadow being defined in relation to the drawn line.

In v2.0, the drop shadow is drawn in relation to the opposite edge of the rectangle, instead of from the drawn line. (Picture a vertical line in a 10px-wide rectangle. The line is at px1 but now, the dropshadow is drawn at px10).

This undocumented change forced my to go in an hand modify ALL my lines with this dropshadow effect.

Because drawing a simple line is a Kludge, can we expect yet another functional change as you modify the rectangle tool for rectangles, but not for lines...?

It's hard to believe this has been released from beta, without this primal feature.

Flash Catalyst SWF to FLV for video sharing websites / Also FC on iPad?

I've been away form this development platform for a while, so forgive me if I'm not up to date with this. I have the need to SHARE some of the interfaces that I design in FC on other sites that use EMBED code from video sharing sites like Youtube and Vimeo.

How can my interactive .swf files be converted to FLV and with full functionality?
Is there another way besides the one I suggest above?

Also... can any FC projects be viewed on the iPad?

I've been researching this for over an hour and seem to go in circles / flase starts...

Data List Graphic Limitation?

When creating a Data List... Is it possible to have the data list scroll with alternate "row" backgrounds, as is typical for showing tables of data?

(In this case, rows of data with alternating green and white backgrounds).

Is there any way I can embed flash objects, i.e., externally hosted widgets in FC? ...In Flex?

There are many externally hosted widgets now available for sideshows, video etc, that are flash objects like Cooliris.

Scrolling Text - Ticker Effect?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a hack to scroll text (ticker tape effect)?

Even if it doesn't loop, seeing the effect just one time (for demonstration) would do the trick. (FC doesn't appear to have the ability to loop a transition?)

I tried to fake it...

Took a sample sentence of text > converted to "Custome Component" > moved off to side of canvas (state1) > moved to final place on canvas (state 2) > set state settings (speed of move, etc)...

It looks good in "edit in place" mode, but I couldn't get the interaction to start "on load".

(I seem to remeber that from Beta1, but can't find in Beta2.)

Any other ideas?

Scrollbar Navigation-Make Actionable

Hi,

I have made a Horizontal Scrollbar having 10 Items (as a datalist component). I wish to mouse-click each item in the list (separately) to cause an action... i.e., to move a "scroll pane" to a specific spot.

In building the concept proof, I have the following questions:

1.) In the datalist component—how does one designate each item (individually) to have a "clickable" action?

(I see in the HUD the ability to "Accept Mouse Click", but I can't find where to assign this action. When you double click the [datalist] component, you're shown the edit mode of the original "Repeatable Item", you can not directly access the other items to assign mouse-click/actions).

2.) As a side-question...

Does the "Slider" (vs scrollbar) component do anything other than... slide in Flash Catalyst? Or can you make it actually adjust/slide something, as the scroll bar does when connected to a datalist? (The Slider component does not do anything when you attach it to a datalist, so what else can it do in FC, or is it just a dead wireframe component?)

Apparent Bug - Custom Component State Change Render Issue

ISSUE: Custom Component State Change Render Issue

HOW TO SHOW ISSUE:

1.) Click on the "Have Questions" BOX, once... in the left column.

2.) Observe

3.) Then click the BOX multiple times, while observing.

AS you can see, the FIRST click produces a warped animation of the box.

Susequent clicks produces the animation as intended.

NOTE: When Pre-viewed within Falsh Catalyst, animation appears as intended from the first click...

Its only when "Publish to SWF" has been completed that the issue appears.

I can send the original file if needed... Didn't know if files are sent in the "clear" here.

Automatic Trasition To State

Hi...

Is it possible...

1.) To initiate (i.e., click button) that transitions to a STATE...

2.) Which then plays an action sequence (Fade In, then Fade Out, Corporate logos, individually)...

3.) Which at the end... transitions to another STATE? (i.e., after the last logo Fades In, transition to a new (3rd) state.

Items 1 & 2 are no problem...

It's getting to the 3rd state that I can't get to work.

I've tried to initiate this by adding to my "Action Sequence" string, the "On Load/Transition To" command for the "Wells Fargo" Logo. But it appears that the "Load" of this graphic and the "Fade In" in my action sequence are 2 different events.

FW File; Roundtrip to Illustrator Issue

When roundtrip to Ilustrator and select the "Edit Original", the graphic opens in "Preview", not FW. The simple graphic (gradient with a drop shadow), is a stand alone FW png file. "Get Info" also confirms this.

How do I get this to file open (via Illustrator) in FW, as per the tutorial...?!!!
