Which AirHelp option produces less output files?

Hello All,

My help topics were created using RH8, and am looking into other web base help solution due to the large amount of files that Web Help currently outputs. For example, Adobe Air in RH8 has the following Output Types:

Adobe Air Application,
Browser based help,
Air Application AND Browser based help, and
Help Content.

My ultimate goal is simply to have a compact output file (e.g., like a CHM file) so my developer can incorporate into his workflow solution (SharePoint 2010) to automatically deploy my web help to not just the central admin server but also all sub-servers. The initial approach of incorporating the help files (currently using RH WebHelp) into the install package did not address that scenario. Unfortunately, for him, he cannot dynamically include all the files into the solution; they must be included one-by-one, which is pain and will cause issues if new files are added later on. Hence, my inquiry to find another web help platform output to reduce the number of files needed to be included in the solution.

In closing, what do you recommend out of Adobe Air web help solution?

Why does RH 8 WebHelp generate the entire help file project?

Hello all,

RoboHelp HTML 8: version 8.0.2.208

Single Source Layouts: WebHelp

OS: Win 7 Enterprise

Why does RH 8 WebHelp generate my entire help file project rather what I specified in WebHelp General (property settings). I have a specified a TOC and Index, I do not want the 'other' content.

Note: No Merged Projects was performed.

Please follow below to get a better/visual perspective.

In reference to figure 1 below, Is there a way to set RoboHelp 8 properties to ONLY generate a sub-folder (outlined in red) instead of the complete master project folder (outlined in green)?

After file generation output reference figure 2 below, noticed the ‘SRC” folder (outlined in green) is generated as well.

If I drill-down (double-click) on the folder (see figure 3) you will notice there are 3 sub-folders (outlined in green)...

and drill-down again (see figure 4) notice the eight sub/sub-folders (outlined in purple).

I only want the help contents (see figure 5) located in my “eInvoice” folder that contains three htm files and the ‘eImages’ sub-folder that are outlined in dark blue.

Generated SSL to MS WORD: Both Word doc map levels (Headings) & PDF Bookmarks are incorrect

SOFTWARE VERSIONS: WIN 7, RoboHelp 8, WORD 2007

ISSUE: Generating TOC chapters from Robohelp 8 to MS WORD 2007, WORD document map levels (Headings) are incorrect or navigation trees are not consistent. RoboHelp 8->SSL configured and mapped, using a WORD template .dot.

SOLUTION GUIDANCE:

The PDF is generated from the word document that, in turn, is created from the RoboHelp 8 project. The PDF generation is configured to use heading styles to create bookmarks. Note: Word styles are mapped to styles defined in the RoboHelp templates however; the resulting document/PDF will generate incorrect or inconsistent bookmarks.

PROBLEM ONSET: Unable to determine when this first occurred (I am new to the position). What I did (looking at older generated "PDF's") see that there were no bookmarks; probably due to not having the option in WORD converting/publishing into Adobe 'heading option' checked off.

DESCRIPTION: In the Adobe Reader, click on the View->Navigation Panel->Bookmarks (NOTE: this can also be seen in WORD 2007 'Document Map' left pane), user's view: the navigation trees are not consistent.

Expected result: The bookmark structure follows the structure of the document where the first level are chapters, second level of the navigation tree are topics, etc.

Actual result: The bookmark structure is not consistent and shows things like "Scenario 1", "Figure 1" on the same level as chapter headings.

Click on the + sign next to the Introduction bookmark;

EXAMPLE #4 (Visual):

Notice “Step / Action”, this text is coming from RoboHelp as ‘Normal’ Styles and is mapped to WORD as a ‘Normal’ Styles but WORD is reading it as “Outline Level” (Paragraph). See sample WORD screenshots below.

ATTEMPTS TO RECTIFY PROBLEM: Note: This is NOT a problem if I generate a single chapter from RoboHelp TOC 'Chapter Layout'. I also tried all the chapters separately and there were no problems. When I generate all 24 chapters from my TOC 'Chapter Layout' there are issues (e.g., single word like "Step / Action" text, nubered and bullited text become headings).

Is there a way to hide the Video Tutorial button on CHM HTML Help?

I have a branding conflict (e.g., videos – screen images branded with a different name) and I want to see if there is a way to hide the Video Tutorials button (ref. image below) that resides on the Online Help horizontal toolbar and if so, can it be conditional?
