Activate NeoSpeech in Captivate 8

I have both Captivate 7 and Captivate 8 installed in my machine. I need them both currently. NeoSpeech was alreday installed for Captivate 7 and it works all fine. Now since I have installed Captivate 8, do I need to install the same NeoSpecch again or it can be activated from the previous installation?

Tabbing (shortcut) and Right-Click in a same project

Hello All,

I have build a project in Captivate 7 with several slides. In one of the slide I have included a Click box with 'TAB' as the shortcut. I want the user to hit on the TAB key and move forward to the next screen. In another slide I have a click box with Right-Click enabled.

After publishing, the screen with TAB, doesnt seem to work at all. But when I disable the Right-click it works all fine. So I was wondering is there a work around to fix this issue? I want both these functionalites to be there in my projcet.

Any help is highly appreciated.

All the adobe products crashes beacuse of Adobe Application Manager

Ever since I downloaded trial version Adobe after effects through Creative Cloud, all my other other licensed products like Photoshop, Captivate, Flash crashes everytime I try to open them. Every day I have to install them. Its really frustrating.

This is what I get everyday , though they all are installed.

I dont know how to get rid of this now. Even I tried downlaoding Adobe Application manager/ which is actually Creative Cloud, it does not help.

Please help me with this !!!

Skin Editor in Captivate 7

Its generally expected that, when you save your project/simulation with a particular Skin Editor, that should be its default skin for anyone who opens it.

But I am having instances that, in one of my team mates machine, it goes back to the deault theme, though the same playbar is installed in that machine.

I just wnat to know, if this a machine problem or Captivate 7 issue?? Because we never experienced this in Captivate 6.

Any help will be appriciated!!!

Failure Text for Darg and Drop

I have programmed a drag and drop option in the Captivate 6.1 version. It works perfectly. But now, I want to have a failure text display for the wrong attempts. I have selected the 'Failure Caption' under the ACTION properties. But still the failure caption is not displayed for wrong clicks.

Is there a way or other settings to make this display?

Audio cutting off in Captivate

Hello,

I have a project with audio included in it. The Speech agent (audio) that I usually use are Kate and Julie. Since we got a feedback for Kate that the tempo is too fast, we decided to use Julie.

When I use Julie, the project plays all well when lauched only the .swf file. But when included it in our course, with html pages, there is cutting off of the audio at the very end.

For example: the word ‘complete’ is only pronounced as ‘comple’ and ‘Williams’ as ‘William’.

Is there any settings to rectify this?

When right-clicked, shows the following error:

Error: Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the default timeout period of 15 seconds.

TAB issue in Captivate

Hello All,

I have a screen with a Text entry box ( has a shortcut as TAB) and a Click box (3 wrong attempts). It is basically a log in page. The action to be performed is, type your Username and either press TAB to navigate to the password field(which is in next screen) or just click on the password field.

Now the issue is when an user tries to type in the Text Entry box, it sometimes fails the click box and the failure text is displayed (associated with click box) and also all the 3 attempts is been failed.

Though this issue is not consistent, it creates a lot of problem.

Anyone has any idea to avoid this? I heard something about Seamless Tabbing code.. does that work??

Captivate 7 - Error Free????

Hello Adobe Experts,

Recently we were using Captivate 6 in our organization. There was an issue with this upgradation: 'When Adobe Captivate 6 courses are accessed from an LMS, the course is unloaded or closed, or the scores aren't reported after a point.'

So My question is, is this patch fix been taken care in Adobe Captivate 7?? or do we need to have the same fixing stuff done to it again??

Captivate 7 - Backward Compatibility?

To test the Backward compatibility, I tried the following:

1. Opened a Project built in Captivate 6 in Captivate 7, saved the file and again reopened in Captivate 6 - It opened

2. Changed the Text (Text Caption box) content in Captivate 7 and reopened in Captivate 6 - The changes in Text (Text Caption box) were reflected in Captivate 6

3. Changed the properties of the Continue button to "Action -> On Success -> Go to Next Slide" - This change did not reflect in Captivate 6. It still had the original properties that was given to it in Captivate 6.

So my question is, "Is Captivate 7 Backward Compatible"??????????

Conversion of AS2 to AS3

I have a button with the following ActionScript:

function blurbOut(blurb) {

}

and

This works as a tooltip. I want to convert these scripts to AS3...So that when I include the animation to Captivate 6, it works. Can anyone help me out.

I am very new to Flash. i just know the basic things in Flash. So I am hoping to get some help from the experts here. My requirement is as below:

Screen 1: The participant is asked to select the items (buttons). There are nearly 36 buttons in this screen. The button they click will change its color.

Screen2: show the participant's answers compared to the correct answers. If we could show their selection in one color and the correct in another. Basically this needs to record the user’s action.

It would be great if you share the tutorial on this kinda projects.

Copy Paste doesnt happen

I encountered an weird issue while working on Captivate 6. I have few objects in my screens like, Click box, Text box, Text entery box and etc etc. And now, I want to copy these standard objects in to all the other screens in my project. When I select all the items and Right-Click > Copy, it seems like it is being copied. But when I move to the desired screen and Right-Click> Paste or press Ctrl+V, it seems like it is been pasted somewhere but not visible on the screen

And this happens most of the times though not always. I have tried, restarting the application, restarting the system itslef, clearing the chache %tem% folder. But nothing seems to work. It mite work next morning.. you never know .

Every time setting the properties for an object in every slide is time consuming. So copy paste is a must.

Can anyone relate this kinda issue and provide me some inputs?

How to bypass "adobe flash player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation" in IE

I keep getting a pop up message as soon as i try to lauch/open any captivate simulation that has been published in SWF/HTML5 format.

Any idea how to fix this? I have tried changing the settings in IE but did not work .

I have several steps in my project where you are required to press a function key (i.e., F3) and also scenarios where I need to press CTRL+K. to move to the next screen When I run this in Internet Explorer, I can't get the steps to work because when I hit F3, for example, the Internet Explorer Find window displays. When I hit CTRL+K, the tab duplicates and a new tab opens with the course in it. In other words, IE settings override the course.

Is there a way to get the course shell to 'override' the Internet Explorer settings so that we can get them to work within the .swf itself? Please let me know if you need further clarification.

Fatal Error in Captivate 6

Hello,

I have an issue with Captivate 6.

I came across 'Fatal Error' where the simulation gets crashed and cannot reopen it again. I tried all the resolutions available in the Adobe blog and internet but did not resolve the issue.

I had created a project few days back and it was workin fine untill today. When i tried opening it, fatal error showed up. Since I am familiar to this kinda fatal error from my last experience with Captivate 5.5, i tried opening/creating a new project and it threw Fatal error again . Now, which ever project I am trying to open, it all have fatal error.

Anyone any idea, why is this happening

And here are my System specifications:

OS : Windows 7, 64 bit

Processor: Intel Core2Duo 2.8GHz

RAM: 4GB

Hard disk : 148GB with 77 GB available space.

Help needed urgently. Have a deadline to meet.

Captivate 6 Trial Version

I had created/published a project in Captivate 6 trial version. Now the published file doesnot launch, it displays a expired message. The .cptx file still works the same though.

I just wanted to know, if this is a bug or it is designed to be expired after the trial version gets expired????

Click box - Failure text

I have a couple of screens with mouse clicks in a project. When a user fails to click on the proper place, i have set a failure text associated with the click box, that pops up with the info. The no of attempts given for the click box is 3. If the user fails all the three attempts, a continue buttons pops up, which when clicked, the mouse click is shown.

Now the prob here is, when the mouse click is shown i dont want the failure text to show up. But it pops up for fraction of a second which i dont want to happen. I have tried with all the settings and properties for the click box and the failure text.. but no Luck .

Does anyone know anything about this?

This is how i have arranged the timeline. The click box is lil shorter than the anyother objects in the timeline.... but still the failure text associated with it pops up when the mouse click is shown..

Captivate 6 - Mouse pointer issue

With this picture in mind, you would think the mouse would be hidden until 3s and then would appear for 2.5s and then dissapear again. This is not what happens. The mouse pointer is visible from the very beginning, but does not animate until the 3s mark. It then moves for 2.5s and then stops, but the mouse pointer is visible until the end. I did not encounter this problem in Captivate 5.5 and we programmed our screens the same way. Does anyone know how to make the mouse pointer stay hidden until I want it to appear?

Initial Focus for text entry box
