Extend Product Details

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a way to extend the functionality of the products page. I'd like to add far more depth in terms of product fictionally, links, suggestions ect... the problem is the input fields relating to each individual product are very limited on BC. I'm hoping to find a way to draw additional fields (maybe from an external DB) to solve the issue. I would like to eventually have interactive content that is product specific displaying on my product detail page without having to use iframes.

Any suggestions would be great!

Display country specific products

Hi guys,

I need to restrict specific products from displaying to certain countries. At the moment I have a US (us.kiph...) and ZA (za.kiph...) site. Does anyone know how I could have specific products only display on the US (us.kiph.co.za) domain of my site or in other words so that only US can purchase specific items?

Any suggestions or inspiration would be awesome!

Display Shipping Cost on Product Detail Paged

Hi guys,

I want to display the shipping cost of an item on the product detail page. The only variable is the country the customer is from, therefore I was wondering if there's a way to determine the users country and then display the applicable shipping option on the products detail page for them?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Credit Card Processing Gif - while c/c is being processed

Hi guys,

Really in need of some help here, most checkout systems have an animated gif that pops-up once you confirm your payment. The gif plays while the transaction is being processed and reaffirms the customer that the site hasn’t bombed out but is busy processing the payment.

The big question is how does one ad something like this to BC??? I’m clueless to the scripts or terminology I should be looking for or how I would get this right in BC without jeopardizing the checkout process.

Any help would be awesome!!

Using {tag_instock} with new attributes feature

Hi guys,

I’ve just changed all my product groupings over to attributes however I’ve encountered one issue I thought someone might help me with. In the following article (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4755700#4755700 ) you guys suggest using the {tag_instock} in the css to hide/show certain divs. I’ve done this with the site however with attributes ({tag_instock, true} none of it is working… For some reason the tag isn’t giving me a clean ‘0’ at the end of my class.

Any suggestions?

PS: Other than this issue, my team are loving the new attributes setup, good job!

Hide content with {tag_instock, true}

Hi there,

I need to show a form when an item is out of stock on the product details page. With the grouping function it was easy class="stockout-{tag_instock}" would call a class to hide ("stockout-1") or to display ("stockout-0").

HOWEVER, with attributes you need to use the {tag_instock, true} tag which DOESN'T simply output a 0 or 1! It however outputs the number of stock items within <span> tags. This prevents me from using this css trick to show and hide content.

eg: <span class="catInStock catInStock_6190581">0</span>

I've explored various options ranging from jquery to content holders but nothing seems to work. If you could suggest anything I would be really grateful!

Maybe a Json script?

{tag_grouping} causing Javascript clash

Hi there, I'm using the {tag_grouping} tag to organise my products however when a customer selects a size from the {tag_grouping} dropdown none of the tabs work on the page. I suspect the javascript involved in changing the product is clashing with the rest of the scripts on the page... I'm unsure of how to solve this issue, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
