Can not check in or check out in the workbench

We have set up a new installation of LiveCycle ES4 with SP1 on weblogic. Everything seems to be working fine but we can't check-in or check out files.

Actually, a new file can be created and checked-in to the repository for the first time. If you want to make changes to the exsting files, the CheckOut functionality is not working. When I checkout the resource, I am not getting the icon to show the resource was checked out. And the Check-In option is greyed out.

There is no error message (nor popup, nor specific line in the logs)..

Does any one has experienced the similar issue..

Passing WSDL URL at runtime

Hi All,

I am looking for some help on how to pass the WSDL URL for the "WebService" Service at runtime..

Currently I defined a WebServiceSettingBean variable and trying to set the values at runtime. But I am getting the below error.

2010-11-15 19:57:01,156 ERROR [com.adobe.idp.workflow.dsc.invoker.WorkflowDSCInvoker] An exception was thrown with name com.adobe.idp.dsc.RequiredParameterException message:Parameter: webServiceOptions is required. while invoking service WebService and operation invoke and no fault routes were found to be configured.

Below image shows the variables of the WebServiceSettingBean variable currently I am setting..

Can any one throw some direction on how to use this?

The whole idea is to pass the WSDL URL from a configuration file when we migrate the LCA to different deployment environments.

Getting error on LC ES2 database table..

Hi,

I am getting the below error when I invoke a process which has email endpoint or a process with task assignment..

Is this error means the database table is not able to create a new process instance?

resetData and taking the form back to Render State

I am rendering the PDF with an XML data at runtime.. The user make some changes and decides to rollback all the changes done in that session.

Currently I am using the command xfa.host.resetData(); which is blanking out all the fields in the form.

Can the form be taken back to the rendered state which means when I click on a button, it should only delete the newly added data after the form Render.

In a sense how can I reload all the data from the input XML source.

I tried the following but all the fields are still blank..

xfa.host.resetData();

xfa.form.remerge();

May be I am missing some thing.. Can some one point me in the right direction..

How to Supress Reader's Message Programmatically

When we open the PDF in Adobe Reader, a messagebar comes up on the top. If you click on the icon on left it will be supressed. How can we do the same programmatically? So that user will not see this message when they open the PDF..

Is it possible to customize the message that is displayed in the MessageBar?

Parsing the return XML from a Webservice

Hi All,

I am having an issue with the parsing of XML returned from Webservice and see if any of you had the similar issue and found a solution.

Our requirement is take Firstname and Lastname as input from the user and search the company database and display the matching names in a list box.

We have a webservice which do the connection to the database and return the data in an XML format. Webservice returns proper XML after each request.

Now I want to parse this XML file and populate a listbox..

I am loading the return XML to the data DOM (xfa.data.loadXML method) and then loop through the nodes to populate the listbox.

The code works fine for the first request. But from the second request onwards, the data it will append the return XML with the previously returned XML. That means XML will have the data for the first request and also the second request and so on..

How can I parse the XML to populate the Listbox only with the data returned for a single request..

Sample XML returned from the Webservice call:

Getting the User Info while Invoking the Process

Hi All,

We have created few processes and are working fine.. Now we got a new request to enable the Site Minder authentication for each request. In our project the LiveCycle process is getting invoked from a Flex code via SOAP end point. Flex application is authenticating the request by reading the info from the request object sent by the Site Mider. Is there a way in LiveCycle process to read information from the browser request object? Our application is not linked with LDAP. We wanted to know the user id that was passed as part of the Site Minder authentication and use it in the rest of the services.

instanceManager is not working properly after Rendered as HTML

Hi All,

I am new to the work bench and tried to create a process to render the XDP as HTML. Now I can see the file but all the code that is working in the Designer stopped working..Including the instance manager.

I have gone thru a document from Adobe about the "Scripting Support for HTML Forms and Form Guides" and they mentioned that the Instance manager is supported both in HTML and FormGuides. Any one had similar experience in rendering as HTML?

Another question I have is if I have the "Bus" field at the end of the path like below.. How do I reference the properties of the "Bus" object to execute the code perfectly in HTML. I am getting the error message "TripForm" is null or not an object while rendering as HTML. The same works fine in PDF.

how to set up process to render the PDF from a XDP template

We are new to the workbench and trying to set up the basic process and need help.. We just want to render an XDP file to the PDF format using the workbench. We could not find a proper documentation on how to set up the process. What ever we tried with the sample Mortgage application, it is not working. Can anyone has any document or steps on how to setup this simple process..

Linking Image field with XML Schema

I have a requirement that I am working on which would require me to generate dynamic PDF in such a way that the text as well as the images in that PDF should depend on the input XML that I recieve. So in this regard my question is how can I link an image field with an element in the sample data XML or with an element in the schema. Does this feature supported by the tool. Can generated PDF have dynamic images in them.

Any help towards this would be greatly appreciated.

Calling a Stored Procedure from Oracle

Hi,

I am new to the workbench.. Can some one help me on how we can make a call to the Oracle Stored procedure which will store the data back to the tables..

I read that we can use the JDBC Service in the workbench but any one help me how we can do that..The idea is store the xml data from the PDF to the LiveCycle database and then from the LiveCycle database first and then on a nightly feed the data needs to be stored in Oracle database.

Lower version checking not working.

I am trying to check the version of the Adobe Reader and if it is less than 8.1.2 then I want the user to download a latest version of Adobe Reader and PDF file should not open for the user.. Using the below code in my PDF in the Initialize event of the Submit button to test the version and force user to down load the latest version.. It is giving the custom message when I open the file in Reader 7.0, but it is giving the errors for validate events and then giving a crashing message before closing the app.

I have seen multiple threads in the forum on how to close the app in different ways.. But they are not helpful in this case.. Below are 3 ways I tried in the Initialize event of the Submit Button. Can anyone have any idea what was wrong with my code..

Setting the XML tag value in Java script

Hi,

I am trying to set a XML tag value in the initialize event of a text field.. The code works fine in FormCalc but I needed it to work in java script.

FormCalc:

$record.prospectApplication.typeName = "namedInsured";

Java Script:

xfa.record.prospectApplication.typeName = "namedInsured";

The above JavaScript does not work. Can any one help on this?

bind.ref not working for dynamically added fields

I am working on a template that has a table with rows added at the run time. I have to attach fields in each row to an XML tag and child tags. I am using SOM Expression to identify each field in the run time. I have written the code to go in a loop and bind the field at run time but it was not working. So I am just kind of trying out for binding one field using the SOM Expression.

This code was written in the initialize event of the TextField2 with Java Script as the scripting language.

var fieldPath = xfa.resolveNode("xfa[0].template[0].Message[0].Page1[0].Table1[0].Row1[" + 0 +"].TextField2[0]");

fieldPath.bind.ref = "$record.COMMAND.sendApplicationInformationRequest.formNumber";

xfa.form.remerge;

I also tried by changing the reference this way but no luck..
