Configure CFBuilder 1 on IIS 7.5

All,

Some help required please.

We have a current set up with CF9 running on a win 2003 IIS6 server, also on the same server is CFBuilder 1. My 'production code' lives in c:\inetpub\wwwroot and my developement code that is viewed in CFBuilder is on

ColdFusion9\wwwroot\codeDevelopment. The server I have set up in CFBuilder has a document root of ColdFusion9\wwwroot, this all works fine and has been for about 3 years.

We have a requirement for a 2nd server, so I bought us CF11 and CFbuilder 3 - after a terrible time trying to get these both working on the same server as I have the current set up I have given up. Also, most of our sites have heavily chart based. After discovering the differencies to the CF11 charting engine vs CF9 it was another reason to give up.

So - I have decided to deploy a 2nd CF9 installation. The new server this is on is a win 2008 R2 (64-bit) running IIS 7.5. I have CF9 (32-bit) working as it should and now want to add CFbuilder so I have an environment that matches the current one.

I can install CFbuilder 1 with no issues but I cannot seem to start the server. Because I have IIS on this box I am choosing type 'other' not Jrun when I am adding a new sever. The question is how do I start this server ? It cannot be started from the CFBuilder app, so how do I start it ?

Or - am I going about this all the wrong way, should I be setting up my environment differently, am I making life difficult for myself. I will confess I am not a developer and have been 'getting by' with this over the past 3-4 years. When I set this up at first, this just seemed a reasonable way to set it up - should I be doing it differently ?

Any commect / help appreciated.

Advice on installing CF11 & CF Builder 3 on the same 2008 server.

Hi all,

I currently have a win 2003 server running CF9 and CFBuilder. I have decided up upgrade to CF11 and CFBuilder 3 on a win 2008 server.

CFBuilder developed code

I installed CF11 without much issue in Production mode, moved some of my CF9 code and over it worked ok, a few coding issues but nothing major. I then attempted to install CFBuilder 3 I chose not to install the local admin server as I had installed CF11. I attempted to set up a server in CFBuilder using 'other' and pointing it to my cf root but the server just showed as stopped.I then noticed my CF11 was broke. The admin page would not display, the code I copied over would not display. I looked at the main CF11 service and it was running, I tried to restart it but it crashed. I then attempted to uninstall CF11 and CFBuilder but they would not uninstall properly.

I have rebuilt my 2008 VM, so now have a clean server to start again.

So - any advice on where I went wrong, or pointers on what I should do ?

This set up is used to host various internal web sites and web apps. Traffic is not heavy which is why I am installing both on the same server. I set up a directory to keep the CFBuilder developed code and then once happy I copy it over to inetpub to be accessed via IIS.

Any help / advice appreciated.

Set up Oracle Datasource in CF9 Standard Edition

Hello all,

My 1st post so please be kind.

I am trying to set up a datasource in my CF Admin console to an Oracle Database. Oracle does not appear as a Drive type in my dropdown list. Now I did read on the forum (see I did have a look before posting) that the oracle Driver does not come with the Std edition. So I have installed the Oracle Client, and under Java and JVM put a CF Calss Path pointing to the ojdbc6c.jar file.

I have read other bits and bobs on the net that you can use the "Other" datasource to connect to oracle but I get "No Suitable Driver" error messages when I try that.

So just looking for help to make Oracle appear as a Driver I can select, or how to correctly configure "Other" to make it work.

Many thanks.

Regards,

Stevie
