Content file, quiz file = 1 SCORM file in LMS??

Is it possible to put content in one file, put quiz questions in another file, link to the quiz in the content file and still have the quiz results report in SCORM 2004 in an LMS?

Hi all!

My course has several practice ungraded questions, a real test (9 graded questions), and an "after course" reportable survey (8 questions). I want students to be able to retake the quiz once. The Quiz Results slide now automatically appears after the survey. I want to show quiz results and put the retake quiz button on a custom quiz results slide after the test but before the survey so students don't go thru the survey before they see how they did. I want students to get the opportunity to retake the quiz just after having taken it - and not after having taken the survey. And I don't want survey question info to show up on the "real" quiz results slide - makes no sense to the students. I also want to report student success in terms of percentage completed on the test - not just in points scored.

Please help. How do I do this? I'm in Captivate 8.

Including a photo when Auto Play not clicked (Preferences Start/End)

Captivate 8, Windows 7.

I've included a photo to show behind the PLAY button when Auto Play is not checked. I've used this before in previous Captivate versions with great success. But now when I publish it, the photo shows up as an ugly red background. What happened to the photo? Are there photo limitations for this action?

Captivate 8:

This has to be simple - I've got to be missing something. I have 4 items to choose from - only 2 are correct. I want all items to have the ability to be moved so I've chosen them all as drop sources (with no place to go) - if not, only the right answers are movable (what a give-away!). Then I dragged the 2 correct answers onto the drop target, choosing Absolute positioning so both show up - which works.

In Preview, when I choose the wrong answers and hit Submit, I get the retry option where items go back to the original position and I get to try again. This works.

But when I choose the right 2 answers and click Submit, all the interactive items disappear, leaving only the title and picture - not to a specific slide. It pauses (which I didn't think I set) - and when I play on, it continues and then all fades - not going to the slide I selected on Success. For the Drop Target actions as well as the Submit button actions I chose On Success: jump to slide (a new slide) and On Failure: Continue. This isn't happening.

OK - what am I doing wrong?

Also - how do I find the Accepted Drag Sources window?

How to create adaptive learning in Captivate 6?

I’m trying to get adaptive learning to work within Captivate 6. I can do it in another program, but I'd really like to use Captivate.

Here’s what I mean by adaptive learning:

Before entering any content, the learner takes a test. The test is broken down into learning objectives – each LO question comes from a test bank for that particular LO and can be randomized to display a set number of questions – not all of them. Outcome – each time the learner takes this test, the questions are different from the previous time.
If the learner passes questions for an LO, the content for that LO is not available (disabled) and the learner can’t take it. Only the content from failed LOs is active.
At the end of the test, the learner failing a specific LO can access the content for that LO through a menu. The learner goes through that content and then retakes the quiz for that LO – this time seeing a different set of randomized questions for that LO.
When all content has been viewed and all LO questions passed, a Results screen presenting a total passed score (combination of all LOs) is created and sent to the LMS.

Components for this type of adaptive learning

A separate test bank (question pool) for each LO capable of randomizing questions and presenting a specified number of questions – not all
The ability to easily set the number of randomly selected questions for presentation – this process should be automatic – the test creator does not identify which questions are to be viewed
The ability to determine and display the appropriate content for the learner to take (LO questions failed) and to disable (LO questions passed)
An LO results screen is presented as the last slide for each active LO content showing previous test score and allowing the learner retake the quiz for that LO
The ability to go back to the LO test bank to retake the quiz for that LO (producing a select number of randomized questions) at the end of each active LO content.
The ability to compile a final passed score (final results screen) from all the LO test banks to be sent to the LMS

What I find in Captivate 6 (so far)

Pretest questions don’t randomize – so all questions show up in the same order every time
Can’t reuse pretest questions (no question pool available for end of LO use)
Only 1 question pool per project – so I can’t link pools to LOs for end of LO retesting (I don’t need the learner to retake the entire pretest again)
Only 1 results slide created – the one that goes to LMS

Here's my question - Does Captivate 6 support the features I need?
