property inspector not working in fireworks

Hi folks,

I am using Fireworks CS 5.1 on a MAC Pro. I haven't used Fireworks in ages but I can't for the life of me figure out where the Property Inspector has gone. I'm creating a very simple button. I put a simple line of text on my page, a box and a line. I have selected each one and then clicked the Windows menu and clicked Properties. The Properties box appears but it has nothing in it. Doesn't seem to matter what I click on there are no properties showing up.

Any ideas?

Flash CS 5.5 crash has deleted 4 folders and 180 .as files???

I was working on a large web site in Flash CS 5.5 on my hard drive Mac Pro V10.6.8, 6GB of memory. 176.78 GB of space left on the drive.

I had set up the project in the Flash projects panel. I was opening files with"File open" and working on them. I have my fla files in a src folder and my classes in a com folder. This was the setup of my com folder.

I was working in Flash and it crashed, when it started up again. It didn't offer me a temp file and all the files in the com folder have been deleted except for the greensock folder. But even the greensock folder was missing files.

I went to the recent files when I click a file name I got this error.

I have searched my hard drive by name for the files and can't find them. They are not in the Trash.

I have talked to three different Adobe tech support people in India they all tell me the files can't be recovered and they don't know why it has happened and don't even seem to care that their program has deleted hours of work. I am waiting on yet another tech support person to call me back. Does anyone know why this has happened? I have been working in Flash for 11 years and never had it delete 186 files when it has crashed.

Hi folks,

I'm running Flash CS4 on a MAC Pro. Flash has been driving been crashing a lot in the last week so I clicked the Adobe updates button from within Flash. Every time I try to run the Flash update it gives me this message.

"adobe cs1 cs4 1.0.1 failed to install".

Any ideas? I have already rebooted, cleaned out my library cache files, check my disk permissions and verified my disk.

Trouble passing xml file name to function

Hi folks,

I'm new to AS3, I'm wondering if anyone could please help me out.

I have an index.swf that loads thumbnail images from this file (projects_list.xml).

When the user clicks on a thumbnail image I want it to pass the selected thumbnails "link" node information to the callFull function. You can see that I have managed to get it to work when I use the real path name. I just can't figure out how to pass the link node text.

Connecting Spry Menu Bar to XML

HI folks,

I am using the Adobe example from this page.

I can't see anything when I preview the file. I have copied all the files to the correct places.

I can get this to work if I make this line just a regular Data Set but then the sub menus don't work.

I think the problem might be the fact that I could not see this script SpryNestedXMLDataSet.js anywhere on my system. I searched google code and found the sample I am using.

Does anyone know where I can get this script SpryNestedXMLDataSet.js?

Or do you see any thing wrong with my code?

InContext Editing Too Slow

Hi Folks,

Love the concept of InContext editing but I don't think it actually works!

I am only working on a simply HTML page with one other user. It takes forever to do anything.

clicking the edit page button: 23 seconds

clicking the done button: 56 seconds

Clicking the publish button: 25 seconds then clicked ok and it took another 47 seconds.

This is the 3rd client I have tried this product on. Each time we have found it a great solution until we try to actually work with it. It's just way too slow so we stop using it.

I tried the Adobe demo pagehttp://incontextediting.adobe.com/demo/includes/ice/ide.html#page=news.html. It's supper fast no issues at all.

Is there some trick to setting it up that I don't know about?

I spent an hour in total this morning with tech support. 25 minutes on hold, then I spent more time actually going through license numbers then talking about my problem. They just told me that Adobe does not support InContext Editing. I was told to go to the support portal and put in a ticket. I went there, the support portal doesn't list InContext Editing in the list of support issues. What gives?

Unable to edit pages anymore

Hi folks,

I've been working with one other person on an InContext site for over a month. All of a sudden we are not able to apply CSS styles to some of the pages. InContext will allow us to open the page up and remove a CSS style, it will also allow us to save a change but not change a CSS style.

This was working just fine.

ComboBox with text wrapping

I have working on this all day. I finally figured out how to make text wrap in a combobox but now my links aren't working and I can't figure out what to do next. I know the problem is in my eventlistener.

Controlling Captivate Movie in Flash swf

Hi folks,

I am loading a Captivate movie into a larger Flash eLearning course. I am trying to control the captivate movie from Flash. I would like it to pause until I want it to play. I have already been to the www.raisingaimee.co.uk & www.pipwerks.com. I have tried all the variables I can think of and nothing works. It seems to be a targeting issue.

Linking to Adobe Bridge Metadata info

I have images that I have added to a folder in Adobe Bridge. I have added metadata (copyright, source etc...) to each image.

I need to track every image I use in an Access database so I can view the thumbnail for the image in an .asp page. When I click the thumbnail the larger image appears. This I have already done.

Now what I would like to do is have the larger image to appear in an (hmtl or asp) page and show the metadata info that I inserted via Adobe Bridge.

Flash Projector Hit Counter

I have a presentation that will be published as a Flash Projector File (Actionscript 2.0). My client wants me to add code to my presentation.exe that will send a message to a web page to track hits. I have already set up an html page and called it hit_counter.html that my server can track the hits on.

My problem is I don't know how to get the message from Flash to this hit_counter.html without opening a browser window. I was thinking it might be something I could do from within my auto_run.inf.
