Slow and Bumpy animations

Hi,

I made an interactive animation with PNG graphics using Animate v4. It works OK in the computer. On the iPad, the performance is still far from perfect.

Path animations go slow and bumpy. Buttons with Play() or Stop() interactions got some delay... even simple rotations become lagged, slow, bumpy...

Anyone knows any way to speed up Animate performance?? What is your experience?

Install Trial Versions without a personal Adobe ID

I have a question:

I need to make a demo to a customer, so I need that they got installed Creative Cloud software, trial versions, for just one day, to up to 5 computers.

I know that you can download a 30 day trial version using a free Adobe ID, but is there a possibility to download a trial installer that I can install in those 5 computers without requiring 5 Adobe ID different accounts?

Button that plays a Slideshow

I got an independent Slideshow (MSO) that is stopped by default.

Separately, I got a button that fires a list of Actions. Among them, I wanted this button to play my slideshow until the end (not just a go to a particular state).

Is that possible?

Resolution in rasterized Overlays

Hi,

I've been working on optimizing image's resolution in y Folio, but I noticed something that means I am missing something for sure.

I place the same image with the same efective resolution (i.e.: 300 ppi). One is left as regular static content. The other is converted to Slideshow (to become an Overlay). Of course a rasterized overlay because it is based in the same PNG image.

When I check my PDF-based Folio in ACV (on iPad), I notice that static picture looks much better than the one converted to Overlay (that appears slightly jagged).

So I am wondering if rasterized overlays are processed to a standard resolution then?

Folio Builder stuck on "Loading publications..."

Hi,

This is happening lately to me, on more than 1 computer.

I restart Folio Builder, Log in with my Adobe ID then Folio Builder gets stuck with the spinning wheel and "Loading publications..." message on it. Stuck forever.

No matter I restart InDesign, etc. When opening Folio Builder again it gets stuck in this situation, so I can't work with Folio Builder!

Any suggestions?

InDesign CC EPUB export 'Improvements'

Hi,

I am comparing InDesign CC EPUB export features vs. CS6 and previous versions. Not such a big deal, unfortunately, but there is something that called my attention. I don't know if this is happening to you as well:

When I export my InDesign layout into an EPUB 2.0.1 file, everything is just basically the same as always. I expand it, open the HTML in Dreamweaver and work out the CSS styles.

But, if exactly the same file, with exactly the same EPUB export options is saved as EPUB 3.0 file, and I try to do exactly the same, when I open some of the XHTML chapters of my book in Dreamweaver, I don't get the CSS stylesheet tab to access directly to the CSS styles. So I have to locate it and open it manually.

I discovered that the only difference between the same HTML form my EPUB 2.0 and EPUB 3 is that the earlier has an extra XML line of code at the beginning as "<DOCTYPE=..."

If I copy and paste that line in the EPUB 3 exported HTML, then is able to locate its own CSS and put it into the dependent files tab area properly.

So, could this be considered as a bug? Or is it just an EPUB3 convention that must be followed? Because it is pretty unconfortable to work without those tabs!

Single apps for iPad 1

I know that probably this subject has been treated here a lot, but I'm still a little confused about it.

I just updated a Folio what will become a DPS Single app. Of course I am working with latest version of DPS Folio Tools. Question is: this updated app from the updated folio won't be available for iPad 1 users?

As I assume answer is not, is there any possible way to not leave iPad 1 users behind? Or is it impossible that I update this app for iPad 1 users too?

Request not processed

As your yesterday I cannot access my Connect Meeting room. When typing the URL it reads something like:

"Request not processed"

System could not process your request.

Any ideas? I can access my management console without problems, and actually I can access my meeting from there, but not from outside once logged out, so other users cannot connect to the room as well (they see the same error message)

Container Regions in Reflow CC

I am working with Container Regions with Reflow CC.

I start with a mobile design with one single text box all along the vertical screen. Then, I want that after a wider breakpoint, this text box (already converted as Container Region) appears splitted in two, like 2 columns.

It works well, but then when I come back to the initial design my text box appears in one column but still splitted in two containers.

Is it possible to keep text in 1 single container while in 2 containers from other design breakpoint?

Retail Folios and In-App purchases

Hi,

How are retail folios (as managed in Folio Producer) and in-app purchases related?

That is, when I add a new in-app purchase for my new retail folio in my Multi-folio App; how does my app know which folio is related to which in-app purchased I added in iTunesConnect?

In iTunesConnect I assign a price tier to my in-app purchase. How does the Multifolio App that is that given folio and no another that has to be that price tier?

Update single using App Builder

I just made a single app using DPS App Builder. Everything fine and quick as usual.

But now, I need to build an update, consisting on slight changes like changing icons and some changes in the .Folio itself.

How may I proceed to make sure the new app is based in the updated folio file? Do I need to generate a new app?

XML tags with Namespaces

Hi,

I am trying to build XML objects with Javascript. It all goes OK, but when I try to create a new XML object from a string whose XML tag contains a colon (as it uses namespaces) in a way like "<tag:something>...</tag:something>, ExtendScript outputs an XML error for that line (like the XML code in that string is wrong).

Anyone knows how to overcome this and be able to both read/build/append XML objects with tags that use namespaces.

(Moreover: if the XML I am trying to read has an xmlns attribute in the root node, it also provides an error).

Anchor Hyperlinks in Animate

Hi,

I know that with Open URL action I can jump to another page in the same window. But I am trying to make a button in Edge Animate that points to a regular HTML anchor destination, like just "#section3" or something.

I tried with regular JS window.location and location.href but it didn't work

Any suggestions?

Creative Cloud Installer not responding

Hi,

I just updated my Adobe Application Manager for Windows 7 to Creative Cloud Manager app.

After that, when I try to launch it, it doesn't respond, nor any error message. It just doesn't work at all.

Edge Animate inside DPS Folios

Hi,

I just made an animation with Edge Animate CC, then inserted it into a Folio project via .OAM placement in the page.

Everything works just OK, but one.

When I keep touching an object inside my composition, like emulating what would be a "mousedown" or touchstart event continously, that object appears with a selection bounding box and the Safari context menu appears with the "Copy" option. Just like if I wanted select this in a regular image in the browser.

How can I remove that stuff? May I ask this to the Edge Animate forum as well?

HTML Limitations in ACV

Hi ,

I am experiencing trouble when it comes to Web content inside Adobe Content Viewer.

I am developing simple HTML widgets for my folio and embedding them with Web Content form Folio Overlays panel.

Thing is that some very basic Javascript functions don't seem to work at all. For instance, regular Alert messages just don't display. HTML5 geolocation doesn't work too. But it is way too difficult to debug this because in ACV there is no way to debug HTML.

By the way all those widgets are already tested and working fine in Safari and Google Chrome first.

Does anybody know what are the limitations in Javascript code within ACV? I am testing my files using USB to iPad preview form Folio Overlays panel.

Multi Folio App and in-app purchases

Hi,

I got a multi-folio app that is up and running well under iOS, with free folios inside.

After completing the process of uploading public retail folios, adding them as in-app purchases in iTunes Connect and Application Loader (with screenshots, etc etc) the status of the in-app purchases remain in "Ready for Submit" yellow light, and it seems to be stuck in that position.

The update of the binary app with IAP enabled is already cleared for sale and so forth and so on...

Anyone ever been in this situation?

SVG animation behavior

Hi,

This is not new so far, but I wonder if anyone knows if this is going to be fixed in CC version of Animate.

I am talking about SVG graphics behavior in some browsers:

If I make an animation using a SVG graphic, like zooming in enlarging the scale, it appears completely rasterized in webkit-based browsers (Safari 6, Chrome, the same Edge Animate) and vector in Firefox 19 (but it moves abruptly).

When is it supposed to be fixed, if there is any fix plan at all?

Multifolio Apps and Free issues

My question is about Multi-folio apps for the iPad (AppStore).

I understand that there may be a Free issue at least in the app when it starts selling in the AppStore, and then one is adding retail folios as "in-app purchases".

But then, after one or several of these retail issues are added, is it possible to remove the free one? Would Apple refuse or remove my multifolio App if I do so?

Are all free issues counting as regular downloads for the sake of DPS Professional (and paying for them) or only retail ones?

Buttons in PDF Folios

Just to double-check... Vector Buttons become rasterized (pixelated) in 1024 PDF Folios when seen in iPad 3?

I just made a PDF folio, based on PDF and 1024 as v24 Folios, made several MSO's inside with Vector option, and they look just fine.

But when I convert a vector shape into a button (with Click state) it appears rasterized always. So may I assume that buttons are those few overlays that don't support vector preservation even in v24 then?

Interactive Live captions

When I use Interactive Live Captions, and I group the captions with the pictures... everytime I rescale the pictures, the text box with the caption rescales the same, but compressing the text tracking, instead of, for instance, reflow the text to a second line.

Is this normal? Is there any workaround?
