[SUGGESTION] "Rule of Thirds" crop guide...

Could we eventually get at least a "rule of thirds" crop guide when cropping? Android's native image-editing provides this (but, of course, does not provide the layering and compositing that PS Touch has).

I wouldn't mind having other crop guides but the rule of thirds guide is the most important to me to have; baby steps and all.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let users know of something surprising I found: PS Touch does let you work with (I'm assuming supported) RAW files, though it's rudimentary (i.e., you can import and that's it; no Camera Raw features or anything like that). I know Fujifilm's RAF files work; I would imagine other supported RAW file formats would as well.

You must use Creative Cloud to do so, which is free to join. (2 GB initially; 20 GB if subscribed.) All you have to do is upload your RAW images as they are to Creative Cloud and then add the images from CC as you would any other image in PS Touch.

Just a heads-up.

PS CC: 3D Extrusion Depth Properties setting, how to change units?

Hi all,

I've been trying to follow an online tutorial but came up against a brick wall during a step. The tutorial wants me to change the Extrusion Depth for a 3D object in the Properties panel, presumably in pixels (somewhere around 350) but I have inches as a unit in my panel. See the screenshot.

My question is, How do I change that? I've looked everywhere online but all anyone refers to is the Extrusion Depth setting in pixels as well. What am I missing? Using PS CC 14.2.

Hi all,

Has anyone ever had a problem with flick panning suddenly sort of going kablooey?

I was working on a project (only 14 MB big) and went to go flick pan and it wouldn't flick unless I gave it a really good swipe (which defeats the purpose if all you wanted to do is flick a little bit).

Scrubby zoom works fine as do the other OpenGL functions like animated zoom. It's weird. The only thing that makes it go away is if I close PS CC and reopen it, which then flick panning seems fine until it randomly decides to go coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs on me again. I'm not even sure how to repro just yet. I've tried disabling vsync to see if that helps but it hasn't.

Using a Windows 8.1 64-bit machine with latest updates; latest supported WHQL driver for an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti. (v. 331.82)

[BUG] Using Camera Fill feature crashes PS Touch on Nexus 7 (2013)

PS Touch version 1.5.0

Tablet: Google Nexus 7 (2013)

OS: Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), Kernel version & Build number in screenshot below because, really, I'm not that insane.

What happens: Using Camera Fill in any capacity simply crashes PS Touch out back to Android with "Unfortunately, PS Touch has stopped," where I am then able to tap "report" or "OK" to get things back to normal.

Easiest steps to repro:

Make a new PS Touch project of any resolution.

Tap "&" then Camera Fill

Crash happens

I can do this consistently with any type of Camera Fill; on selections, via the "Camera layers" tutorial, etc.

Photoshop going subscription-only; please do NOT do this with Elements...

Hi all,

As some of you may heard already, Adobe is switching Photoshop to a subscription-only service.

For the love of all that's holy, please tell me Adobe is not planning to do this with Photoshop Elements. (Right now, I know that's the plan; what about the future?) I'm just an enthusiast, not a pro.

Question for the Adobe staff:

Did the "Share to Facebook" functionality change in the latest version of PS Touch? I can't seem to find it when I tap the "share" icon. (If I need to have the actual Facebook app installed, what's the point of signing into Facebook within PS Touch?)

Text tool shows black screen with force GPU settings

Hey everyone,

When I go to use the text tool, I cannot seem to get past adding custom text to the project. An example screen:

I was wondering if anyone could reproduce. The steps are as follows:

Create a new project by tapping "+," in the middle left. (Create any dimensions.) Tap, "OK."
Tap, "&," in the upper right, then tap, "Text."
Tap the text entry field in the lower left.
Tap anywhere once done. You might end up with a screen like I have above.

Tapping the "go back" icon in Android just nets me a totally black screen and will not exit PS Touch as it normally does. I have to use the home screen icon and swipe PS Touch out of my running apps to launch PS Touch and get it running properly again.

I have not tried uninstalling/reinstalling just yet; want to see if anyone can repro first.

Using a Motorola Xoom (Wi-Fi model) with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and PS Touch 1.4.1.

Hi all,

Just wanted to report an apparent, reproducible bug. I tried sending a PS Touch project via email as a PSD. It sends the email (through the Email or Gmail apps), but does not send the actual PSD file. Sending as a JPEG or PNG does not give a problem and sends the JPEG/PNG along with the email.

Sending via another means like Dropbox also does not give issues.

Not too big a deal. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Using a Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi model with Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean).

PS Touch version 1.2 released for Android on Google Play

Camera Fill not working as expected in Android OS 4.0

Hi all,

Recently upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) on my Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi model. Loving it so far. I seem to have a new problem with trying to create a Camera Fill effect of any sort. The steps to repro:

Create any type of layer
Tap the "&" > Tap "Camera Fill"
Try to take a picture; PS Touch then ends up in a processing loop (with the four squares animating clockwise)

If I try to use the Android "return" button, I can return to the Android home screen and then re-enter PS Touch, which then proceeds to ask me if I want to save my snapshot (which is essentially blank). I tap any option and everything proceeds as normal (minus PS Touch not taking the picture).

I suspect this has to do with Ice Cream Sandwich and the new drivers for the Xoom's camera. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling PS Touch which didn't solve the problem.

Other than that, I haven't found anything else wrong while using PS Touch under Ice Cream Sandwich. I'm noticing a wee bit performance increase too.

Just thought I'd let you know and see if anyone else can repro.

No text kerning/spacing in PSE 10? Booo!

When I saw the announcement for PSE 10, I was excited until I found out that text kerning/spacing still isn't included (unless I missed it). This would have been the biggest reason for me to upgrade. (I mean, come on, text on a path but no way to kern or space?)
