Mouse problem in Adobe Presenter Video Creator

I have Adobe Presenter 9.0.2 build 173, 64-bit and I seem to have a strange thing going on in Adobe Presenter Video Creator when I use it to do screen recording to demonstrate software.

If I allow it to change my screen resolution as recommended by the application - 'change display Resolution during recording (Recommended)' - the mouse click occurrences recorded in the video occur a small distance away from where I actually clicked the mouse. So say I'm demonstrating the Ribbon in Microsoft Word 2013. If I click on the 'Home' tab on the ribbon, the video makes it look like I'm clicking on the 'Insert' tab just to the right of it.

However, if I uncheck the box 'change display Resolution during recording (Recommended)', the moue clicks in the recorded video are in exactly the correct positions. I would be happy to record in this mode but the trouble is the fonts and pixels are not as clear when I record in this way with the display resolution box unchecked as when I record with the box checked.

I'd like to know how to let Adobe Presenter Video Creator record at the recommended display resolution and have mouse clicks recorded correctly in the correct locations.

Any ideas anyone? Thank you.

Peter

(N Wales, UK)

Presenter video recording from PowerPoint has stopped working

My Adobe Presenter 9.02 Build 173 has suddenly developed a problem where recording video from within PowerPoint has stopped working. I have Office 2013 32-bit and Windows 8.1 64 bit. I believe that Presenter installed itself automatically in the installation process as a 64-bit application.

When I press the 'record now' icon on the Presenter toolbar, PowerPoint opens the current displayed in Slide Show view and I get the following error message:-

"Adobe presenter has encountered unexpected problem while working with this presentation......" etc.

This video recording feature from within PowerPoint has worked just fine on my system with the identical setup as mentioned in my opening paragraph but it's suddenly stopped working for some reason? I checked and do have the latest graphics driver.

The stand - alone video creator tool records video outside of PowerPoint just fine but as stated, I can’t execute recording from the ‘record’ icon on the Presenter menu in PowerPoint.

I tried the following without success:-

I created a new PowerPoint file and tried to repeat the recording process

I ran PowerPoint as Administrator and ran the file ‘Adobe-Pr-VC.exe’ (in C:\Program Files\Adobe) as Administrator

I uninstalled and re-installed Presenter

I turned off my AV software and firewall

I created a new Windows Administrator account and tried video recording within PowerPoint

Anyone have any ideas on what else I could try?

Peter

Poor video recording quality with Presenter 9

I'm trialling Presenter 9 and Captivate 7.

I have a Compaq CQ61-320SA latop with a 2.2 Ghz dual core processor and 8 Gb RAM. It's 3 or 4 years old. The Display Adaptor entry in Device Manager says it has Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft) and the driver is up to date. (I should say that HP's product spec page for my laptop says that 'Video Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G which confuses me as Device manager is listing it as Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family?)

When I record full screen in Presenter (it seems you are restricted to full screen recording in Presenter, unlike in Captivate), the resulting MP4 is rendered in high quality. The fonts in the video look nice and sharp. However, if I import the video into Powerpoint with the Adobe Presenter add in and then publish it to a folder on my PC with the 'lossless' setting and then click on the file 'index.html' the playback quality in my browser (Internet Explorer 11) is much lower. The fonts look 'blocky'.

I don't think it can be PC specification because if I record full screen in Captivate 7 and import the MP4 file into a new project and publish it, the quality of the published slide is great. (Again, I click on the 'index.html' file to play the published video).

Does this mean that Presenter is not as good as Captivate in terms of its video recording quality? Are the encoding engines different?

I love the webcam PIP functionality and simplicity of Presenter but the seemingly low video quality versus Captivate is an issue for me.

Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated.

Peter

Captivate software simulation with Adobe Presenter type PIP

I'd like to be able to record a software simulation in Captivate with the type of built in PIP functionality that is available when recording my PC screen in Adobe Presenter. The functionality I'm referring to in Presenter is whereby you can easily toggle the PIP from full screen to small window to no PIP. I love this capability and it makes the demo very personal forthe viewer!

It looks like that with Captivate, you have to insert a PIP separately, unlike in Presenter where the PIP is added automatically.

I am trialling both products so have them both on my PC currently.

Is there a way with either Captivate or Presenter or both to be able to create a software simulation and have Adobe Presenter style in and out PIP effects?

The only way I can think of is to record the simulation in Captivate and separately record a video of myself with a video camera or smartphone, import the latter into the captivate simulation being careful to sync the two video streams so that my 'talking head' audio in the PIP video is perfectly in sync with the captivate simulation action flow. But this sounds like it would be time consuming. Is there an easier way?

Peter

What's the best way to add products to a website?

Can anyone tell me the best strategy for adding a list of
products for sale to my website with images and descriptions and
prices? I don't need to set up a shop with e-commerce with credit
card transacations as such as I don't want to take payment online.

Would I

Create a static web page add the products using a table?
Create the products in a database (MS Access?) and link them
to the website (althogh I don't know the procedure for this)?
Purchase some sort of dreamweaver extension?

Any help and guidance would be appreciated.
