CFGrid Headers Invisible in IE until mouseover

My client uses CFGRID and IE a lot (yeah, I know) and I have been tasked to solve this problem.

When the grid first comes up in IE, the headers are invisible; mouse over them and they'll appear and stay on until you move on to a new table or refresh the screen.

Firefox and Chrome do not have this problem.

To make matters worse, my client has disabled the developer tools access in IE so I can't drill down to the CSS and look for a solution that way.

I am trying to find a cfgrid.onload solution, but apparently the documentation is sparse on the methods available in cfgrid (know where they are? Please enlighten me!)

I stumbled across .refresh() and updateHeaders() but I cannot find their proper syntax and just what the heck they're supposed to do. I know, lame, but try RTFM when you can't find TFM!

My first try was to create and OnLoad this:

function IEReload() {

var grid = ColdFusion.Grid.getGridObject('mygridname');

grid.updateHeaders('mygridname');

grid.refresh('mygridname');

}

which does not work.

Ideas welcome!

How To Re-Compile ONE Component in Real-Time Without CF Restart?

Is there a way?

I've seen tricks for restarting the application, but I suspect this still kills all active sessions, and we have quite a few going on.

I just have one CFC I need to recompile to get some changes in place, but I don't want to upset the entire apple cart.

Is there a way?

Java Heap Size Recommendation Request

Looking for suggestions on tuning. Running CF10 update 13 on a 64 bit server with 8 GB RAM, running into memory issues (I suspect). JVM is only set to 256 / 512 right now, so I'm going to increase it. CF and a handful of sites is pretty much all this server does.

Suggestions on what I should set this to now? We seem to be under 50% memory usage at the present time (right now 3.44GB), and CPU is 0-2%.

CFGrid won't update cell (works in 8 but not 10)

I am not an Ajax / JSON guy (yet). I am trying to find a solution for a problem I walked into (new client) and they are upgrading from 8 to 10.

the cfgrid works okay in cf8, but fails to update in cf10.

CF10 Sites Produce 500 Error, CFAdmin Runs Fine

(This is a partial repeat of a posting I added this morning to an old thread; reposting here in a new thread as I am not sure the old one will be seen by anyone)

Through fits and starts, we have CF10 running on CF10 Standard on a VPS with Windows 2012 64 bit and IIS 8.0. I did install the IIS6 options too, as well as the ASAPI and ASP options. CFAdmin was installed with the "all sites" option. At this point, I can freely uninstall/re-install CF if need be as all sites are down anyway, unfortunately.

Every site gives me a 500 error but I CAN get the CF Administrator up and it runs and displays pages, updates, etc just fine.

Another thread I found here in the forums concentrated on the Application pools. I checked the application pools and they all say 32bit=true, so for one site I went through and set them all to false, but that did not fix the problem. Was I supposed to recycle IIS or CF before I tried to render the page again?

For each site, there are 4 application pool listings, one for v2.0 (Classic), v2.0 (Integrated), v4.0 (Classic), and v4.0 (Integrated).

All sites are showing the CFIDE and Jakarta virtual directories. The .cfm and .cfc MIME's look like they are set correctly at the top level of all web sites. DNS has been checked and the sites can be pinged successfully.

I'm out of ideas.
