Robohelp does not pick up conditional build tags set for tables

My FrameMaker 9 tables tagged with conditional text is not picked up by RoboHelp 8.

My tests show that conditional text set for tables in FrameMaker when imported to RoboHelp gives me a table with no conditional build tags at all. If I, in addition, set conditional text for the content in the table I only end up with an empty table. IOW, I have to "man-handle" all tables in RoboHelp ... sucks big time!

My RoboHelp settings are fine as I can see all build tags from FrameMaker in RoboHelp (they are just not automatically applied to the tables). Applying conditional build tags before I import FrameMaker files is never a good idea as it simply does not work properly. In my experience you always have to set the same build conditions in RoboHelp as you do in FrameMaker ... IOW, repeat!

Anyone got the same problems, or am I doing something wrong here?

How do I add/import and format source-code?

Creating a proper workflow on how to add/import and format source-code in FrameMaker seems to be a hassle (to say the least). I have been looking for good examples on how to deal with this; however, the ones I have found so far are at best not even close to being a viable solution.

Here's what I need to do:

Create a FrameMaker document

Include source-code samples

Complete (file-referenced), or

Partial (file-referenced or copy pasted)

Output PDF

Import the FrameMaker book to RoboHelp

Output WebHelp

Whatever approach I try I always end up getting nothing or each line of code split into separate <pre> paragraphs; however, what I want is (at a minimum) source-code samples in single blocks of code wrapped by single <pre> tags that keep the formatting (e.g. indentation) intact.

In an ideal world I should of course be able to add any source-code with proper syntax highlighting (depending on the programming/scripting language) and have that "live on" once I decide to convert it to WebHelp files using RoboHelp.

Anyone?

Using: FrameMaker 9 and RoboHelp 8

Global Update Options for cross reference formats

I have been using Adobe FrameMaker (ver 7-9) for some years, but still find it strange I cannot perform a Global Update that would allow me to switch from one cross reference type (name and format) to another throughout a file, or even better an entire book.

Why would I like to do this? Well, because I feel it would be a lot easier to maintain documents in those cases where I need to apply a new template. Especially in those cases where you are reworking older files that needs to fit into your WebHelp output (generated using RoboHelp). If this was possible I would have a lot less manual updates/maintenance to do.

Is this a missing feature, or am I missing something?
