Problem using HSBCHashGenerator CFX

Upgrading from MX7 to 10.

Got a .jar file "cpitools.jar" which I've put into /opt/coldfusion10/jre/lib

If I do a jar -tf on it, I get:

com/clearcommerce/CpiTools/security/Encrypter.class

com/clearcommerce/CpiTools/security/HashGenerator.class

com/clearcommerce/CpiTools/security/SecCrypto.class

META-INF/MANIFEST.MF

I've registered it in the CFIDE:

TagName: CFX_HSBCHashGenerator

ClassName: com.clearcommerce.CpiTools.security.HashGenerator

BUT when I try to call it...

I get the error message: The CFX custom tag CFX_com.clearcommerce.CpiTools.security.HashGenerator was not found in the custom tag database. You must add custom tags to the database before using them. If you have added your tag to the database, check the spelling of the tag within your template to ensure that it matches the database entry.

So when it says "you must add custom tags to the database" - it's referring to the registration of the Java CFX, right?

So I've done that. so I check the spelling of the tag - looks OK to me (and it is unchanged since the functional MX7 code).

Obviously the mapping is working to some extent - CF was clever enough to realise that when I say <CFX_HSBCHashGenerator...., I am referring to something with "com.clearcommerce.CpiTools.security.HashGenerator".

So what's my blindingly obvious in retrospect error?!

Problem installing CF10 on Ubuntu 12.04

Just been trying to install CF10 with Apache2 and it was all looking reasonably good, but when I try to use the CFIDE adminstrator, I get a Tomcat error:

ColdFusion 10 + jTDS to SQLAnywhere timeout

Got a new installation of CF10 running on 64 bit Ubuntu 12.04LTS.

Trying to connect to Sybase ASA (AKA SQLAnywhere) v8 using jTDS.

I put jtds-1.3.0.jar and jcifs_1.3.17 into a directory that's in the CF Java Classpath - and that seems good, CF seems to be able to find that right enough.

But when I configure a Datasource:

JDBC URL: jdbc:jtds:sybase://1.2.3.4:2638/mydatabase

Driverclass: net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver

Username: xxx

Password: yyy

It doesn't work - I get a very rapid timeout error message:

Connection verification failed for data source: dmcc-jtds

java.sql.SQLException: Timed out trying to establish connection

The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: Timed out trying to establish connection

I can connect to the same database using the SQLAnywhere native commandline tools (so not a firewall issue).

I saw that someone else reported this problem on StackOverflow but if any solution was found, they didn't put it up!

CFMX7 and Java6

I've long had CFMX7 generally working with Java6 on Ubuntu 12.04. However, the CFIDE has been problematic. I get the error

500 coldfusion.runtime.CFPage.SetEncoding(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;)V

Which seems to be a bit of a classic. Sounds like something in the CFIDE application is trying to call a function in an obsolete manner.

I would hazard a guess that this is not supported, but I wondered - has anyone managed to get this combination running?

Further clarification:

I've now tried downgrading to java 1.4.2 and it still doesn't work - so must be something other than the JRE that's causing the problem.

Other installations (on older versions of Ubuntu) are on 1.6.0 and all works

Problem connecting from MX7 on Ubuntu 10.04 to MySQL5.5

Running CFMX7 on an Ubuntu10.04 box - been good for a few years. However, I'm now having trouble connecting to an external MySQL 5.5 server.

Not sure what bits that CF is actually using. I was using mysql-connector-java-3.1.14-bin.jar and when I try to add the datasource in CFIDE ADministrator, I get:

Connection verification failed for data source: psdb

java.sql.SQLException: Access denied for user 'web120-paysys'@'xx-xx-xx-xx.dsl.in-addr.zen.co.uk' (using password: YES)

I tried updating the connector to , but that just changes the error message to this:

I'm interested in copying the datasource settings from one CF installation to another. Wondering if there's an XML file somewhere that can be cut'n'pasted or similar, but a quick grep yields no results. Any suggestions?

A colleague is trying to install CFMX7 on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn and having trouble. I understand that part of the problem is that we've been upgrading from earlier versions, and he claims he must install CFMX before CFMX7 - and that CFMX is incompatible with the version of the C++ compiler that comes with Feisty.

Is this true? Any ways around it that don't involve rpms?

I used to run CF 4.5 under Windows NT and found that one needed to run the service as a particular user with appropriate access rights for resources such as files on networked servers.

Not entirely sure of the situation under Linux. We have a number of samba servers that CF scripts will need to access. Presumably nobody isn't going to have sufficient rights for this? What's the official way to handle this?
