Assets tab is blank - on both computers

Does the Assets tab in the Creative Cloud desktop app have a purpose? It doesn't show anything. I've re-installed it on both my computers and it remains blank.

DPS Tips app says "This content is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

The DPS Tips app doesn't seem to work on any of my devices. Any attempt to download a folio produces the message "This content is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

"Temporarily" is OK but this was the same yesterday. Should this be changed to "permanently"?

Can't swipe away from HTML article

I have imported an HTML article alongside our InDesign articles. On my iPad, I can swipe from the InDesign pages to the HTML article, but once I land on that HTML article, I can no longer swipe away from it.

This is probably too much of an open question, but could anyone here suggest what might be interfering with the swipe action in that HTML? I didn't code it but I can see a lot of Javascript going on in there, so a suggestion of what kind of thing to start looking for would be helpful.

Note: I can touch a non-interactive area of the HTML page to call up the DPS HUD and navigate to other pages that way, but swiping left or right on that same area does nothing.

Third MP3 in an MSO disables all the buttons

I have a three-state MSO and three buttons to call up each state. I add an MP3 to a state, fine. I add a second MP3 to another state, still OK.

But when I add a third MP3 to the remaining state, the MSO seems to freeze up. Previewing the article shows by default whichever state was active on-screen in InDesign (rather than the state at the top of the Object States panel) and the buttons that are supposed to switch between states do not work.

It does no matter which MP3 I remove from the artlcle - first, second or third - but as soon as I'm back to just two MP3s, everything starts working properly again.

Advice would be very welcome. InDesign CS6, DPS R28 on Mac OS X 10.8.5.

Content Viewer library on iPad doesn't load

What should I do when the library gets stuck at 'Updating Library...' with the spinner spinning but nothing happening? I've tried signing out and back in, signing into a different Adobe ID, quitting the app and restarting it, restarting the iPad, and uninstalling the app and re-installing it. I'm bored of this now. Any suggestions, please?

Can't sign in to ACV on iPad today

Today, I seem unable to sign in to my production account from Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad. I don't get any message, timer just spins a while and eventually gives up.

- I CAN sign in to the account from InDesign and Folio Producer.

- I CAN sign in to other DPS accounts from Content Viewer on my iPad.

I have tried quitting Content Viewer and relaunching it. I have tried removing Content Viewer from my iPad, switching it off for a while, restarting it and then downloading and installing Content Viewer afresh from the iTunes store. Nothing seems to work.

What else can I try, please?

How to clear desktop Content Viewer crash problem?

Please could someone remind me how to do this?

I have an InDesign CS6 doc on a server that crashes InDesign when I try to preview it to the desktop Content Viewer - but only on one specific Mac. The same doc previews fine to Content Viewer on other Macs in the office. The Mac in question can preview other docs in Content Viewer. It's just this one article on this one Mac that's the problem.

I'm guessing it has to do with a corrupted cache or prefs file somewhere on the naughty Mac related to this specific InDesign doc.

I have cleared InDesign prefs during launch and ditched all StageManager folders from the naughty Mac. What else should I try?

UI changes in v25 - clarification please

In the v25 release notes, it says with respect to UI changes:

"The Home button is now the Library button in multi-folio apps. The function of the Browse button and the bottom scroll bar are now combined. Use the scroll bar to swipe through articles in browse mode. The arrows next to the scroll bar that jump to the next or previous article have been removed."

Obviously I can't see what this looks like on an iPad until Apple approves the v25 Content Viewer. Fair enough.

However, the v25 Desktop Content Viewer doesn't seem to match the description above. Yes, the Home button at the top left of the nav bar has been changed to a Library button, but in all other respects, it looks and works exactly like the v24 Desktop Content Viewer: the Browse button is still there at the top right and it works like it always has done, letting you whizz back and forth across the folio, while the scrollbar at the bottom looks and works just as it always did, with its own single-page thumbnails, including the arrows on either side.

I am experimenting with a v25 folio.

Have I misunderstood the v25 release notes or does this mean that the v25 Desktop Content Viewer has a different UI to the forthcoming v25 iPad Content Viewer?

Sidecar ignored during folio upload (but accepted later)

Recently, when I prepare a sidecar.xml file and put it in a folder alongside my article folders, then import the folder as 'multiple articles' to a new folio, the metadata settings in the sidecar.xml file seem to get ignored. That is, the articles get uploaded in the right order but settings such as smooth scrolling and horizontal swipe are wrong.

If I then move the sidecar.xml into its own folder and import it on its own, the folio gets updated with the correct metadata.

Why is this? I'm certain I used to be able to upload an entire folio with the sidecar.xml simultaneously, not as a two-step import.

Misleading R26 sign-in dialog for Folio Builder

I was disappointed to see that the new Folio Builder sign-in dialog in R26 (using Adobe Application Manager) bears a title bar labelled "CS6 Creative Cloud Membership".

This is so misleading. I want to sign in to an active DPS account for the publication I am working on. Why should I be prompted to enter the Adobe ID for my CS6 Creative Cloud membership - something that is utterly irrelevant?

It is also faulty: after signing in, the AAM dialog vanishes and ditches me into The Finder rather than returning me to InDesign.

New folios appear at the bottom of Content Viewer app

For the past few days (I think), when we create a new folio, its thumbnail no longer appears at the top left of the Content Viewer app on the iPad by default. Instead, I have to go hunting for it several screens (and several Load More... taps) right at the bottom. After I have begun downloading it, the thumbnail pops back into the accustomed location at the top left.

Any ideas why this behaviour has changed recently? Any ideas on how to stop it, please? I can't tell you how annoying this is on a daily paper, as the list of folios gets longer and longer.

Latest DPS, latest app, all up to date, done the usual restarts etc.

Blimey, DPS is slow tonight

It's 4.20am and we'd like to go home at 5am, please. But we can't because the DPS server is sooooooo sloooooooooooooow. It gets slower and slower down to a crawl and then gives up with a 'resume your download later' error that can't be circumvented without deleting the folio and starting the download all over again. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Adobe Content Viewer quit unexpectedly

If I close a Desktop preview by clicking on the window's Close button, I get the error message: "Adobe Content Viewer quit unexpectedly."

If I use the File > Close command, I don't get the error message.

I am not experiencing any other problems with DPS Tools. It's Adobe Content Viewer V25 (3.0.0.0.69315) on a Retina MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.8.2.

Anyone else seeing this?

One of my folios does not appear in dev app

I'm testing a dev app prior to an R25 app update submission to Apple and a funny thing has come up: I can see all the previously published folios... except for one.

All the folios are published as Free/Public, all with the same Product ID, etc. When I launch the existing R22 app, I can see and download all the folios. It's only when I launch the R25 dev app that one particular folio is missing from the Library screen. It's neither the oldest nor the newest folio, nor does it employ any format that differs from the other folios.

Any idea why?

Export Format In PDF Articles - Vector as default

I would like to request that 'Vector' be made the default (or an option allowed for users to change the default) for 'Export Format in PDF Artciles' in Slideshows and Scrollable Frames.

In my line of work - newspaper and magazine publishing - roughly 99.9% of Slideshows and precisely 100% of Scrollable Frames contain text and therefore *must* be set to Vector otherwise our pages look pants on a Retina display. It is troublesome and needlessly expensive for us to be changing Raster content to Vector over and over and over again. And over and over. And over and over.

We're finding that big scrolls and MSOs might be set to Vector in our templates but, after a bit of chopping, changing and copy-pasting on live pages by designers, they revert to Raster. Can you imagine how infuriating it would be if you applied a custom Swatch to an object, only to have it keep reverting to Black? Well, this is what it's like with the Raster business.

Sure, if the original images are not very good, readers won't notice any difference, but for top-quality photography, the jaggies and jpegging noise are noticeably harsher.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"> </p><p>- All raster MSOs in a multi-rendition folio will be resampled to 108ppi. If those MSOs contain text, that text will appear fuzzy/jaggy on an iPad 3 even without zooming in. MSOs must therefore be set to Vector format to preserve the text... but remember that any text incorporated into a raster graphic will still be resampled to 108ppi, then fuzzed up onthe fly to 144ppi on the iPad 3 screen. So if someone is supplying you with logotypes, for example, insist on vector illustration files.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"> </p><p>Clearly, the 108ppi resolution of multi-rendition PDF folios is a compromise. When looking at the folder in Bridge, Finder or Windows Explorer, we can see just one of each image in there, but looking at the folder via Mini Bridge shows one or two of the images in duplicate.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"> </p><p>It seems it doesn't matter which of the duplicates he drags on the page, either of them works fine. But it is cluttering up his Mini Bridge panel and he's worried that he might accidentally delete items by trying to get rid of the duplicates.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"> </p><p>It only affects this one user.
