Custom buttons in Output window

I have been working on a new project in RoboHelp 10 which has a .CHM output file. In the Window Properties dialog for the output I have selected to add a button (Button 1) to the toolbar which is linked to a pdf document. (We have done this many times before in earlier versions.) For some reason I cannot get Button 1 to appear at all. I have tried creating another window and using that instead, and even recreating the project with just a single topic, but to no avail. Other changes I make to the window (size, other features) work fine so I am definitely using the correct default settings to generate the project. If I use Button 2 then I see the button but can't find the pdf, even though I have put it in the root file of the project as normal. Has anyone else had this problem, and do you know of a solution?

Chinese characters not displaying correctly

This happens even when change my PC's locale to China. Everything else seems to display as it should, and the index itself looks fine in RoboHelp. Has anyone else found a solution to this problem, or even encountered it?

Show All/Hide All buttons in HTML Help topics

I am having problems with existing Show All and Hide All buttons for expanding/closing drop-downs in HTML Help topics. There are existing buttons in the topics from an older version of the project which now no longer work when the .chm is compiled (although they do work in the View feature). The error message says that the Javascript viewall () and hide () properties are not defined - these are the functions ascribed in the HTML code for the "Onclick" actions for the buttons.

I have tried deleting the old buttons and adding new plain buttons that are user-customisable (according to the RH8 Help) but I can't seem to do this either. I have also looked at Peter Grainge's method for using twisties but I think that only applies to WebHelp where skins are used.

Any thoughts anyone please?

Adding new map IDs to existing .h file

Hi! I am relatively new to RoboHelp, in particular the thorny subject of context-sensitive help. I am trying to manually add some new map IDs to an existing .h file in a help project, but I find that, although RH8 allows me to assign them to a topic, when I generate the .CHM and use the CSH tool to test the link, no corresponding topic is displayed. Testing the .CHM in the application confirms this result. This doesn't only happen to my new map IDs but to at least one old one as well that was put in by someone else previously but never worked apparently. The other links can be unassigned and reassigned as normal, so I can't see any logic to the problem. Any thoughts anyone please?

Rob
