create epub format from FM9?

We have been using FM9 for about 6 months. It was originally intended to replace a composition system called XPP. So far we have produced 4 printed publications with FrameMaker. The other 8 will be converted over the course of the next year and a half.

Now I have been told that we need to create epub formats of our printed publications.

Do we have to upgrade to FM10? Is that all we need to do? I've been reading about RoboHelp 9; do we need this in conjunction with FM10?

I have Windows XP, my co-worker has Windows 7. At some point in the next year, I will also be getting a Windows 7 machine. We have already run up against the lack of memory problem so her Win 7 has lots.

Thanks in advance for any insight from the group.

Phyllis

Colon in index marker text

I have a mif file from which I need to create a 1 level index.

I have numerous data which contains a colon; so the MText tag looks something like this - <MText `Accredited: Representative'>

Now, I know that the function of a colon is "Separates levels in an entry"

I also read "Note: To enter a backslash or any special character used in these building blocks—colon, semicolon, bracket, or angle bracket—as regular characters, precede it with a backslash (\)."

I can make the MText look like this - <MText `Acccredited\: Representative'>

But this does not work; I still get a 2 level entry in my index. What am I missing?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
