Custom layout for product list view

Hi all,

Can I create a template .tpl that is assigned only to either the product detail or list view?......or has any created a workaround for this below?

I want to display a list of products in a particular category, with a sub-menu down the left hand side of the page, but the detail view of the individual product to be across the full page width. I have several categories each with it's own sub-menu ( for the side).

I currently have a few templates, containing the various side menus, formatted to display as I need, but of course, this layout gets assigned also to the detail view, which is what I don't want.

Would be great to see other ideas.

Hide background image on mobile device

Hi all

I have a responsive site and I have a background image in my services page(s)

All looks fine on desktops and laptops, but when view on a mobile phone, the image displays behind the page content which doesn't look very nice. Is there a way to hide this background image on mobile devices only? i tried this below in my screen.css file, but no luck.

Or another workaround perhaps?......

Display a history of newsletters

Hi guys,

I'd like to display a history of email campaigns on a page (named Newsletter Archive).

Newsletter 1

Newsletter 2

etc

First solution is to simply get the {tag_viewinbrowserurl} tag from a test email, and simply copy this URL into a link on my Archive page, - a little "clunky" for the client. I was hoping there was something in the system that would do this automatically. Is there such a thing or does anyone have ideas on this?

Customer Reports by orders and state

Hi all, I don't think this can done, but I would have thought it a basic function of the reports system. I want a report of customers who have spent >$500 who's (delivery) address is in a particular postcode - or even state would be fine. Or even something simpler like trying to find that order from 2 weeks ago that was sent to that particular postcode.?

Custom Reports-Customers and Orders-select criteria (incl shipping address)-Filter criteria-and voila, this where we come to a halt.

Lots of limited use fields here really....eg Country, Order owned by, .....but no state or postcode.

What is a girl to do?

Segmenting customers

My client (real estate) wants to be able to set up a number of criteria to segment users in the CRM. ie he wants to be able to look at a customer and see that he is interested in: Apartments for sale in Region 1 priced between $400-$500K. Customers can belong to several preferences so simply adding them to a particular campaign list won't work. Extending this, the client would like to create a report that lists all customers in this particular segment, and then add them to a marketing list.

There seems to be a couple of workarounds eg CASES: set up a form for the user to fill in : then you can do a customer/cases type report;or ORDERS: : so the "order" becomes a list of preferred property types/attributes.

These both seem a little cumbersome though. Has anyone done this or can suggest a better way. It seems a reasonable request and sounds like it shouldn't too hard, but I just keep running into a brick wall on working out the best way to do this. Thanks in advance. DC

Using the capture details tag

Hi... i have a capture details form on my product details page, where customers can write a personal message to go with their purchase(flowers).

On the shopping cart layout the tag_capturedetails displays the message, but also the product attributes, - which is not required. Is there a way to "filter" the tag so it only displays the message that the customer has entered? Thanks in advance

Where do I find the template that is assigned to the email that gets sent when you click the send message button in the cases area of a customer?

I can't see anything in System emails, but it must be somewhere...

Australia Post Shipping Charges

Hi all,

If I use the Aust Post Standard shipping option, it tends to round up the $ eg If I select the standard $7.20 postal charge, it displays as $7.21 on the invoice. Has anyone had this issue and managed to find a work-around? Shipping is a pain overall but it would be nice to get it right.

Hi guys I have a (team) web app which contains an icon linking to the individual team members blog.

Autoresponder not working on buyer registration

Hi Guys,

I have my registration-buy form set up for customers to fill in when buying an item.....

The extra bits I have in the form action are:

Disable Users log in details &SWE=False - which works fine, and....

&OPTIN=true if the user checks the join newsletter checkbox in the checkout form - works fine

I also have a ( thank you for buying) autoresponder email checked for registration buy form. This is supposed to send out to the customer, however this isn't happening. .So all that the customer sees when he buys something is the invoice he has just generated rather than the thank you email as well as the invoice

Adding Custom fields to Invoice layout

Hi guys

I want to display instructions related to a particular order on the customer's invoice. The client is a t-shirt maufacturer, and I have set up an extra custom field ( plus others) named Decoration Instructions.

Using the {tag_crmform} on the invoice does display these instructions, but also displays the other fields I have set up - which help track the progress of the order. eg Date Sample Supplied, Date Approved, etc

I've tried "hijacking " other standard fields eg tag_shippinginstructions, to display this info, but this isn't the ideal solution.

Is there a way to isolate the particular custom field "Decoration Instructions" and display this only without all the other data I've added? Much appreciated. DC

Getting back to a secure zone Landing Page

Hi guys,

I have several secure zones each with a custom landing page. So when the user logs in, he/she sees his own html page with his pic, logo, custom content etc. In essence this is mini-home page for the logged in user. If however he navigates away from the page, all is lost. I would like to have a "go back to your landing page" link, and allow the user to go back to his page. Is there a way to do this?Thanks in advance.

Display Web App Item Based on Subscription

Hi guys

I need to build a page which displays particular web app items based on the user's secure zone access status. The goal is for a user to log in and view only the items he is assigned to. eg Agent A views property A, Agent B views property B, Agent C views property C AND D, etc etc. Agents can be subscribed to multiple secure zones and hence see multiple properties.

There are few ways I've tried but none have quite hit the mark....

Option 1 Add the item to it's respective secure zone. This is fine, however the list view of the (secured) item still displays, and it isn't until the user clicks the item, that he is prompted to log in so he can view the item's detail-view. As new properties will be continually added by the client, this is the easiest way by far, but the process really doesn't the objective the way it is. If the list view of the item can be hidden from the (unsubribed) user, this is an ideal fix.

Option 2. Secure the actual page (/projects.htm) containing the list view so no properties at all are displayed until the user logs in. As in Option 1, logging in will simply display ALL properties, even those the agent is not subscribed to.

Option 3. Kiyuco Tutorial re displaying content based on secure zone. Looks good but would involve the client having to add/edit snippets of javascript/css, so isn't really an ideal solution to offer.

Hoping someone may have asolution or work-around on this, or can help with what is the best way to approach this? All suggestions welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Integrate Tribevita template into existing site

Hi all

I am going through the pleasure of integrating a new Tribevita template into an existing site ie so the crucial sales data etc is maintained. From my research, this is a bit of work and basically it seems you are copying various parts of the new template into the current (old) site.

I gather the process of integrating a new site involves:

1. Recreate the folders, web app layouts, forms, content holders, photo galleries etc from the new template, into your existing site.

2. Change the relevant ID's in the html in the new site, so they match the ID's of those just created in step 1

3. Then.... ftp all the new template's pages, assets, css, files etc into the OLD site....and in theory you will have your new & improved website all while maintaining all that traffic and sales data.

The new template site is a reponsive site from Tribevita - Flora Design, so I don't know if that will have any issues moving across to the old site. Has anyone gone through this process and can you give me any advice on things to look out for and if the above the correct method to do this changeover.

Has anyone set up a website connecting to quickbooks 2013 online hosted? (Australia) I gather you have to set up the product and item codes etc in qb the match the products on the website, but i don't know where to start - is there a idiots guide to achievingthis process? Thanks

Javascript not working with tags

On my landing page I have this script...

Report Download - <script type="text/javascript"> document.write("{module_literature,i,"+nameBits[1]+"}");</script>

where nameBits[1} is the id# of a literature item. The value comes from a form on a previous page.

However it displays no media found on the page itself. Inserting the Literature item directly onto the page works ok, so the item does exist.

If I change the code to

document.write("{xmodule_literature,i,"+nameBits[1]+"}"); then it does display as expected....

ie Report Download - {xmodule_literature,i,168791}.

So I am gathering this has something to do with the syntax within the javascript. I've tried a few different ways, but none working so far...

Can anyone help me out on this. I'm sure it's an easy fix but I'm stuck.

Display Web App Search Criteria

Hi - how can I display my search criteria on my web app results page.

so page ID 10499125 is the web app results page, but I would also like to display the criteria that the user had selected.

eg area, price range, bedrooms etc etc

Here is (one of) the fields in my search form for the user to select......

Pass a variable to the Invoice

Hi I have a delivery date field (CAT_Custom_295523) set up on my buyer checkout registration page , and I want to pass the selected date onto the invoice so the purchaser sees this as well other delivery info. I tried using {module_url,CAT_Custom_295523} on the invoice layout, but didn't work.

Buy Now redirects to different page

I am wondering if instead of the page going to the shopping cart on click, if this can redirect to a specific page ie a page containing complementary products/warranty etc......... this page then has an add to cart btn and a view cart link to finish the order process. It is for a flower site which displays the product on page 1, then displays extras on the subsequent page. There are other ways , but using the buy now btn as above would remove 1 step from the order process. Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Can't see the Capture Details text box

Hi I cant see my tag_captureddetails I have inserted on the large product view. I have tried on 3 sites but no luck. All I am doing is inserting the tag where I want it but the text box that is supposed to display doesn't. Am I missing something??

Table moves slightly in frame

Hi ......I am building a site which loads a page.htm into the mainframe of my frame set.
The reason is so the links displayed in the mainframe for each particular page link to external websites - these sites are displayed in the mainframe so the user doesn't leave the original site.
My problem is this - when the page.htm loads , it sometimes jumps a few pixels to the left thus causing the site to look mis-aligned. The page.htm consists of a centred table 760 pixels. Now this is the bizarre bit - it only jumps if I insert 3 images. If I insert 2 images it's fine. (725x165pxl images). Has abyone seen this before and is there anyway to fix this? It is completely illogical the way this happens, but it does happen.
I thought I may be able to use tables to fix this, but how do you load an external site into a table?
Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks
