BC Secure Zone Form Customization

I have been publishing from Muse to BC and I have multiple cases where forms created using the standard Web Form builder in BC appear un-styled and plain. Can anyone assistance with or help provide reference to articles regarding the customization of these forms?

1.) In the case of secure zone registration forms where the form can run long vertically with all the require input fields, is it possible to split this form into two side-by-side columns?

2.) Is there an easy way to increase the height and width of the input fields of the form so there is a style difference between the field title and the input area of the field?

Custom Styling BC Forms

I'm new to Business Catalyst and I'm having a challenge custom styling BC forms. I'd like to to increase the width and height of the fields, add a border around the field elements and increase the line spacing between the fields to begin with. As a designer, I'm use to creating form designs in muse but the form creator in BC is limited without additional code knowledge.

Can anyone offer a suggestion?

Styling Forms for Business Catalyst

I am trying to learn how to style web forms created with the Business Catalyst Web Form Builder that I can copy into a site designed in Muse and publish back to BC. Apparently because I designed and continue to update the site with Muse, the only way that I can create and maintain BC form functionality is to paste the web form html into Muse and publish to BC. This means that all BC form styling must be done in the html on the Muse side. Here is a simple form created in BC:

I would like to add a plain dark gray or black border around the blank form fields and increase the form field width to 300 px. Can anyone help?

How to sell Digital Image Downloads in Sets ONLY

I am attempting to offer a large number (currently 200 in stock) of original photo images as digital downloads using BC.

I have them entered in the eCommerce system as individual "Products" with digital download enabled, but here is the challenge, the client does not want to sell them as single downloads because of minimum merchant processing fees. Therefore they want to offer a set of 6 (different images) for $5 -and- a set of 13 (different images) for $13.

I could set up 2 products: one for "6 Set" and another for "13 Set", but how would I enable the site visitor to select the images that they want in either set before checking out, keeping in mind that they would expect to receive links to download the images they chose after payment?

Does anyone have in information to share on how I can accomplish this?

Would appreciate any feedback.

Help using a Dragn'Drop in a BC eCommerce site created in Muse

I want to create a DragN'Drop template functionality to display multiple photo image galleries on a web page where the site visitor can select 12 images to drag and drop into a grid of 12 empty spaces on the SAME page.

I located the following 3rd party script: http://www.redips.net/my/preview/REDIPS_drag/example10/ This would be perfect because the scrolling containers on the left can contain the photo image galleries from which the image selection if "dragged" and the static container on the right can be the receptacle where the selected images are "dropped".

The twelve selected or (dropped) images represent an eCommerce product that the client will print and ship to the customer. This means that at some point the site visitor will need to add this template to the shopping cart and pay for the template order.

Because Muse over-writes when published to BC, I will need to insert the template in to a Muse page as HTML. The questions is:

1.) How can I get the template to work with the BC shopping cart function and process the finished "dropped" selection as an order?

2.) Once the selections are "dropped" into place, how can I have the system email a copy of the selected "dropped" images to an email address?

If there is a BC expert out there who can offer a few clues as to how I can make this all work -- I would greatly appreciate it?

Looking for 2 Product Solutions for eCommerce site created in Muse and published to BC

Seeking suggestions for 2 separate BC eCommerce website product applications: I have within BC so far about 200 image in the in a folder in the "File Manager" -AND- each image has been optimized as a low-res digital image down-load product (divided among 20 catalogs).

#1. Image downloads not for individual purchase but as (a bundle of 6 for one price) and (a bundle of 13 for second price) only.

I'm trying to customize two BC products a 6 Pack & 13 Pack of digital image downloads. Normally in BC, a visitor could purchase a single image as a downloadable product and after successful check-out they would receive an email containing the download links. I need to disable single unit purchases and enable the customer to ONLY select 6 images for one price -or- select 13 images for one price. After successful check-out they would receive links for either 6 download files or 13 based on their purchase. They could also purchase multiple pack sets.

#2. Allow the site visitor to select 12 images (from 200 images among 20 catalogs) for a 12 month custom calendar which would be printed and shipped. The BC product here would be a 12 month custom calendar. I have a product listed in BC as a "12-Month Custom Calender" and a display page titled the same. I have been looking into a drag n drop system that would allow the visitor to: purchase the product > select 12 images > submit their select by email to site admin.

I have limited coding skill and I should mention that I originally created and continue to add-on to the site with Adobe Muse. Because I chose to use Muse, I have been looking for solutions that I can embed in Muse pages as "Objects" as Muse will over-write BC custom elements as it is over-written. I have looked at either using a 12 field drag n drop which might work but I can't determine how to make the 20 catalogs available on the same page to select from.

Can ANYONE offer suggestions?

The purpose of the product for the consumer would be to use the low res download as a screen save or for viewing in a gallery on a desktop, tablet or smartphone device. I'm getting pretty tired of the reasons why adobe can't provide captcha or some other form of security on forms created in muse and hosted outside bc. There are several cheap third party form building solutions out there that can provide the functionality to create secure forms, are you saying that they are better than you?

Yes, I can build some pretty amazing sites with muse but I'm not interested in hosting with bc right now so what good are they and my monthly subscription to your service if my clients are only going to complain and threaten to fire me because their contact forms have been easily hacked by someone for god only knows what purpose. Every day now, I receive copies of hacked emails from client sites that I created in muse. Emails with strings of letters and numbers and two-way conversations some clowns seem to be having with each using these forms.

I'm sick and tired of this crap. If you can't provide me with a viable fix... I will have to consider other options non-adobe.

Client managed eCommerce Shopping Cart

I am attempting to create my first website projects using Adobe BC. I have two client projects both requiring shopping cart functionality 1.) I will manage product inventory and 2.) the second client has strong interest in being able to upload and change product items on their own. This client has also inquired about product upload automation.

Originally being a designer and not a programmer, I myself am finding it somewhat difficult to create and configure a shopping cart solution for these clients Using Adobe BC as opposed to using a hosted template based cart system such as BigCommerce, Godaddy, Shopify, etc.

My questions is, once the site has been created and published on BC, is there a product module in BC that will allow my client the ability to easily upload and change or update pricing and general specs for the products in their shopping cart -or- will the client need to know html, CSS and javascript in order to manage the products in their own shopping cart.

Constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have been recently approached by a client that has an older site that was originally created on the ColdFusion platform, where the shopping cart merchant gateway has changed to a new provider and their merchant account credentials must be changed to continue taking orders. The original site developer is no longer available and I have been approached to make the update. I work with other Adobe Applications but am not too familiar with CF. Can anyone suggest where in the system I could change the merchant payment gateway credentials?

I have been approached by a client regarding an older site, originally created in ColdFusion, which needs to be rebuilt. I think the project would be ideal for Adobe Business Catalyst. However, until a new site can be designed and developed on BC, the client has a new merchant gateway and the new account credentials need to be immediately updated in the old ColdFusion platform. I am not too familiar with CF therefore can anyone suggest how I can get this done?

I have a challenging website development project that I'm trying to build and host on Adobe Business Catalyst. The project is an eCommerce Site that will offer photo images for sale as digital downloads (to be used as wallpaper images for desktops, tablets and smartphone devices). I am hoping that I can customize one of the BC eCommerce templates as the cart functionality.

I can't find much information on the Internet regarding the set-up of the images for such a project so I was hopping the Adobe Community could help. The following are a few questions:

1. Is there a particular format I want to use to offer the digital images in? I assumed .jpeg would be the choice for both PC and Apple devices.

2. What resolution do I want to use for each image? I assume that when the images is purchased and downloaded that it will auto scale to the devices screen size.

Adding a Terms of Use statement to a Muse site

Is there a best practice for adding a privacy policy or terms of use statement to a site created in Muse, instead of using a sibling or child page?

The statement that I have to use is fairly long and I would prefer to have a pop-up instead of using a designated page. Is there a pop-up functionally that I can use for this task where the pop-up would scroll the length of the statement?

I'm trying to create a slideshow in which I can embed 4-5 buttons within each slide cell. If either of the buttons within a displayed cell is clicked before a cell rotates during the presentation, the button would open the page linked to that particular button. The goal is to create multiple slides within the show and each slideshow cell would contain 4-5 button links each with different destinations.

I'm still looking for a way to add an internal site search functionality to a couple of my Muse sites. I do not host with BC, I have looked at Freefind and I think Addsearch is great, but I would prefer to have an unbranded solution.

Why is this functionality so difficult to acquire without being a billboard for another company brand? Does anyone know of a solution?

Large scale displays

I have a project that requires creating a 8'x26' (one-way see thru) vinyl window film for display.

I'm a designer who has done pretty well so far creating websites with Muse. However, I have a new project that Muse may not be right for.

I have a new client who is a successful musician who requested that I create a new website for him that will allow site visitors to listen to his music files and have the capability to purchase and download music files. Does anyone have an idea of a software solution or product that I can use to add a search box to a website that that will allow visitors to search the pages of the site?

I am aware of Google, yahoo and bing search widgets but this is for a client project I would prefer not to use a branded solution. I'm not a coder so I can't create a custom script for this. Just want an unbranded search field in the upper right corner of the website that will link to a specific wesbite pages by title, url or page code.

Full-screen Slideshow Set-up

Tablet site versions showing on Laptops and off-center

I have several sites that I created in Muse. I create the desk-top version first followed by a duplication of the same layout positioned for both the Tablet and Phone versions.

I viewed the sites on a clients laptop and expected to see a scaled down version of the desktop layout but instead, I see the tablet design set to the far left (FL) of the screen. Does anyone have experience with this?

Why wouldn't a smaller version of the desktop layout show on a laptop -and- why does the tablet version show flush left instead of centered?

Working with CSS in Muse

This post is in addition to a previous one regarding adding css to muse for integration of livefyre comment widgets into muse master pages.

livefyre is not exactly compatible with muse and after embedding the comment widget in my muse site the widget displayed in browsers with button text being squeezed out of place and dropping to the line space below.

livefyre supplied the following css code to be added to the the css of muse:

Which worked perfectly once a MVP instructed me to place the code inside <style></style> and entering it as head html. Problem Solved!

HOWEVER, a second button titled dropped out of position in the comment widget container for which livefyre supplied a second css code:

.fyre .fyre-post-button .fyre-button-right-inner-box { width: auto !important; }

The problem is that when I combine the second bit of code with the first, placing it above, placing it below or placing it in it's own <style></style> frame, nothing happens. The button title still shows broken in the browser view.

QUESTION: does anyone happen to know how to add the second bit of css code? Does it require a secondary trigger commend?

I use muse becuase I have limited code knowledge and as a designer I can build great looking sites with this aplication.

However, looks aren't everything especially if the look doesn't function. Faced with limitation of muse on a specific project, is it possible to transfer a website orignially created in muse -to- dreamweaver without having to build the entire site from scratch?

Embedding code behind a site created in muse to trigger a desired effect

I built another great site using Muse but the client wants to use a third party processing application that requires I:

1.) embed script (not a url) in the body section of the html (not the head),

Instead of placing the code in the <body><body> section (which I do not know how to access in muse), I tried placing the code in the head section available via the "Page Properties" metadata field -- and it does work. However. now I need to create a custom button to trigger this effect.

2.) I want to use a custom button but the client wants the button to blink between to colors. The third party vendor provided a code that would trigger the action of the first code but I need to find a way to make this all work.

First, I created the blinking effect by using a blank slideshow and placed a .png version of a button I created in ai in the fist position followed by a button also created in .png with the alternate color on top. I Then set the "Fade" speed to the minimum of .06 seconds. This method did provide the desired effect, but now how do I make it clickable?

I tried using the "Rectangle Tool" to place an empty, sans stroke div over the blinking button that I created with the idea that I would copy the designated action code into the html by way of the "Object" > "Insert HTML" but instead of placing the code behind the empty rectangle div, it creates it's own link with a "?" mark image. As a test I placed the unwanted "?" on top of the blinking button and previewed the page in the browser and it works causing the intended trigger effect when clicked. Also note that placing the element over the rotating slideshow did not obstruct the blinking effect.

The only problem is that I don't want to show this "?" that the "Insert HTML" path created, I need to show the blinking "Order Now" button that the client asked for.

Can anyone help?

The posts didn't seem like spam mail where strange products/services were being offered but appeared as if individuals were using it as a message or discussion system. These are only a few of the recent submissions. I didn't think that there would be an issue posting the actual submission as the form is obviously being misused.

I removed the email addresses in case they belonged to innocent victims of the misuse.

The contact form was created using the forms widget in Muse and the files were uploaded to the hosting server via FileZilla. Does anyone know what this is, how it happend and possibly how I can fix or prevent it from happening again?

Embedded Field Titles

I have clients that sell professional services with 6 or fewer service offerings. Typical shopping cart solutions seem to be a hassle and more for multiple item online stores.

I did not have a good experience with FomrsCentral in the summer of 2012, finding it lacking in design freedom. Being a graphic designer and not a programmer I am able to design great sites using Adobe Muse, but Muse falls way short on application functionality widgets that are popular and in demand, one being forms regardless of the recent upgrade. I am reconsidering FormsCentral or will consider any solution this post may provide.The recent Muse upgrade now offering forms anywhere is a great addition but there is still a lot missing. I have 2 questions:

1.) I want to allow form submitters to upload a file "Attachment" how can I make this happen?

2.) I need an easy to create payment solution that I can integrate with Muse that allows me to set-up payment for services using a regular merchant gateway solution other than PayPal. Is FormsCentral payment feature only for PayPal Premier and Business accounts or can other merchant processing gateways solutions be used? If not, is there another solution that anyone can recommend?

When I embed a Form from the widget library and adjust the width of the fields in a form to 182 px in width, the original blue dotted line outlining the original form dimension remains the same, in this case locked in the transform tool at 344 px in width. The form works fine but the problem is when the form is filled and sent, a "transmitting form" message appears at the base of the form and falls off center of the adjusted entry field dimensions of 182 px to centered with that of the original blue dotted line width of 344 px. The end problem is that the "transmitting form" and "Form received" message indicators fall off center of the intended design area

Is there a way to adjust the original blue dotted line so that all elements fall with the same adjusted width of the entry fields (the transform tool appears to be locked on the 344 px measurement?

ftp link allowing site to capture large data files

Can BC and Muse be used to develop a site with an ftp file link for large file uploads, similar to an ftp site link that a printer would need to receive job file uploads - if so, where can I go for details?

I've been a successful graphic designer for years using Adobes applications. Now that Muse is available, I've been able to quickly transition to creating online web site projects without having knowledge of html and css. I'm sure you hear this alot - right?

Now that I can create great looking sites with Muse (which I currently host outside of BC) I'd like to learn how to integrate some of the great features of Business Catalyst such as BC hosting, cms, crm, modules, e-commerce, e-mail marketing, analytics, etc. -- BUT, I don't get how they work together with Muse. One of my main problems is when clients ask it they can update/add content to their own sites and all I have is my Muse account control panel that I created it in.

BC seems to have it's own "developer" based (code knowledge needed) site application which can't serve me at this time in my career.

My question is: Can I build in Muse and still use the power packed in BC?

If yes - Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Adobe Muse shuts down after pressing the letter (Q or q)

While using Adobe Muse in Creative Cloud my applications recently starter instantly shutting down whenever I type the letter (Q) either upper or lower case in a text container. I don't have this keyboard issue in other applications, only Adobe Muse. Does anyone have any information as to what might be the problem?

Where is the Power of ADOBE in FormsCentral???

Regarding the graphic appearance of finished forms created using FormsCentral - I wonder if I'm missing something. I've used Adobe's awesome design tools for many years and recently subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud which I think is a pretty convenient service for staying up to date at a reasonable cost (thanks), but then there's FormsCentral which seems to have the creative look of third-rate generic form building tools found randomly on-line somewhere. Is there a control panel somewhere that I missed that gives me access to the awesome design power that I've grown to love in adobe or did you guys feel that forms weren't important enough to look good?

PLEASE tell me that there is more. Interactive forms are a must have and a challenge for designers who lack programming skills.
