drag a layer into another document

i am struggling to do this, and i suspect it isnt even possible.

I have a large psd doc several layers deep.

I have a smaller sized psd file open

I want to drag a layer from the large to the smaller one and have it resize. Much like if i have the option in prefs for place.

I thought holding ctrl when draggin or other keys, but i can't seem to find a solution

i know there are a few other workarounds but they are all long winded.

Did i miss something here or is it just not actually possible to say drag a 4000x4000px layer into a 150x150 document and have it auto fit the layer, just as place would do if importing a file.

Anyone else have this issue of no longer being able to print or preview docs on pages. N up printing.

For example i have a DL sized flyer, and i want to print 3 across on a page, not only does it not show that in a preview but it also doesnt even save it.

as you see the preview only shows one, and the saved doc also.

I know there were issue in 10.1.2 but i thought the new update cured all this.

Am i alone?

any workaround? i had to save it as a jpg and use another program in the end as a tempory measure

this is a wierd one, but after we have done all we have done and

built the dvd and deleted all the files then 5 yrs later we need to rip out the menus and rebuild them or use them on something else, not really an encore issue, but anyway we can put it back to encore files or psd's

i did say it was a way out there idea

Anyone know a way to import png24 into photoshop cs3 / cs4?

whenever i do it all i get is a solid transparency.

i want to be able to batch several icons. lowering them in image size.
