Captivate 6 Quiz - "Click Anywhere to Continue"

I have a Captivate quiz that is 800X600 and have published it with Scalable HTML Content selected.

If I have the window maximized greater than the original 800X600, only parts of the screen will allow me to advance when I want to continue. Each quiz slide in the project has a different area that you can click. Each time I visit the same quiz slide on another attempt, the area I can click to advance is different than the last time I attempted that question.

It's almost like the 800X600 clickable area is randomly spread around the newer, larger sized window.

Captivate Quiz locks when using Back button then going forward...

...but not always and not at the same spot...

I have built a short Captivate 5.5 project with only 30 slides. It contains content, 7 practice quiz questions sprinkled in (score = 0), and a 5 question quiz at the end (score = 20 each).

Some of the practice questions have content slides between them. (This is where the locking occurs; usually)

The client wanted the practice questions to be answered before moving on so I have a global quiz setting of "Answer All" and set up each practice quiz with Advanced Answer Options that give specific feedback; forcing you to get it correct before moving on.

I first built this with no back button. It is so short I put a button just before the graded quiz that would take the person back to slide 1 (outside of quiz scope), allowing them to view the content again before the graded quiz.

The feedback I received is that it is irritating to have to A. go back to the beginning, and B. re-answer the questions. I fixed the "re-answering" problem by adding a non graded quiz element to slide 1, fooling captivate into including the entire project within quiz scope.

I fixed the "go back to the beginning" problem by allowing backward movement and adding a skip button to the practice questions. This works beautifully by disabling the skip button until the question is answered corrrectly. Also, if I use the BACK button to return to this question the SKIP button is now active - this is good!.

The problem is: most of the time, if I do a lot of clicking back and forth the project locks up. I am unable to move forward (NEXT button does not work). I can still keep going back, but if I go forward again, I can never get past the slide I originally locked on. USUALLY this is a content slide between two of the practice quiz slides. However, I have also made it lock on some of the practice quiz slides if I revisit them (SKIP button does not work).

If I click through from start to finish and don't do "too much" backward movement, I have no issues. Grading works great and reporting functions to the LMS.

I have attached a picture of the process that might help describe what I am trying to accomplish.

Any help would be appreciated...

scormdriver.js is needed if using AICC?

My organization uses a security product to scan all of our code before it goes to production. It does not like some of the code in the scormdriver.js file (says it has a cross site scripting issue).

Do I even need this file if I am using AICC to report to our LMS?

If I need it, does anyone know of a patch?

Advanced Actions making slides run slow

Hi,

I'm trying to display different content to different users based on their role.

I used the radio button widget on an opening slide to ask a question about their job and place the answer in a variable. Later I use an advanced action in the 'On Enter' of the slide to evaluate that variable and either display the slide or go to the next slide.

I get VERY poor performance on the slides that use the AA. I remove the AA and the presentation performs like normal.

Is there something different about the radio button widget that would cause this or something about my design that might cause this? I could build the same thing without the widget, but it's so handy I would like to use it.

Rollover Image and Click Box in same space and time

In Captivate 5.5, I could have a rollover area/image and a click box occupy the same time on the timeline and the same place on the stage - AS LONG AS the click box was underneath the rollover image on the timeline.

I can no longer do this in Captivate 6.0.1.

Does anyone have any ideas if this is a feature or a bug?

Added a side by side view. CP5.5 on the left, CP6 on the right.

Also, what I am simulating is a dropdown menu in software and asking the user to select one of the options. In CP5.5 all the menu options animate like standard software and the user can click the one I want them to click. In CP 6, they all animate except for the one where the click box resides. The click box still works, but it no longer resembles the actual software.
