CFFTP GetFile Error 550

Okay, so we're trying to use the CFFTP tag to get a file from a secure, remote FTP server, and copy it onto a directory in our webserver using this code:

Now our CF template is throwing this error:

An error occurred during the FTP getFile operation.

Error: 550 Filename: No such file or directory

It's saying the error is on the line for LocalFile, but our filepath is correct.

The file does exist on the remote FTP server.

I can't seem to find anything on this on the web either.

Can anyone help?

"Application" level Arrays?

Hello,

I am using CF 8. I am trying to find out if it is possible to make an array that is kept on the server, rather than the client. There are a couple of reasons I want to do this.

First, I don't want to use a database table to keep the data, because it will be under heavy use, and will cause database exceptions when the resources are locked.

Two, I need a centralized location for the data, so that users from a variety of locations can access and update it.

Is an "application level array" possible in CF?

New to the Event Gateways portion of Cold Fusion, and am looking for someone who can point me in the right direction. I'm using CF 8, and want to build a primitive "Instant Messaging" system for users of my website. First, is this possible? Second, can anyone point me to reading material on how to "instant message" from one machine to another using CF?

Installing CF on OSX Server - Web Server/Website issue...

I am trying to install Cold Fusion onto a OSX Snow Leopard Server, and when I get to the Configure Web Servers/Websites portion, my site that is set up on the Snow Leopard server is not showing up in the Web Servers/Websites selection box, and because of that I cannot move past this part of the configuration of CF.

Does anyone have any idea of why the site is not showing up in the box and/or how to fix this issue?

My particular problem is with this section:

mc.onRelease = function(){

getURL(arr1[i].booger, "_blank");

}

The function itself works, when the SWF is clicked, a new window opens like it should, but the URL comes up as Undefined. I know that the XML for the URL is loading into the SWF, because if I swap its location in the XML Nodes, it will show up correctly in one of the other fields inside the SWF when it plays.

So I'm throwing this out here for hopefully a fresh set of eyes to look at and point me in the right direction.

I'm in the process of converting an old AS2 file to AS3 and am having an issue with the AS conversion. The script Assist says there are no problems.

My variables in the AS2 file were fed in through the URL that called the swf, and here is the old AS:

Push variables from one state to another....?

Hello,

I'm wondering if it is possible to have Flex carry a variable from one state to another.

For example:

In the base state let's say I have a data grid with photos, like shown in the Flex In A Week example. If I wanted to have the user click on one of the images in the base state, and go to another state, let's call it a Profile State, and I wanted the click on the base state to push a couple of variables based on the photo clicked, to the profile state, so that I can then use those variables to do a remote data lookup based on those variables, to get the detail to populate the profile state, is this possible?

I didn't seem to get that from the Flex In A Week training.

FCS (Now FMS) Chat Components ?'s

I have a couple of questions concerning the Communications Components for the FCS/FMS that I could use some help with.

I have a 2 frame Flash Animation. On Frame 1 is my Simple Connect and my 'chat room', on my second frame is my 'Rooms List'. When I test my Flash, the Simple Connect connects the Chat Room components, but not the Rooms List Components on the second frame. Is it not possible to do things this way? I tried to add a second Simple Connect to the second frame, but that did work so well either.

If it is possible to do that, my second question is this: From frame 2, is it possible to get the Join Room button on the Rooms List component to go back to the chat room on Frame 1, instead of loading a new page?

VideoRecord Component - where are the docs?

Can anyone tell me where the docs are for the VideoRecord Component for FMS2 are? I can't understand why Adobe would put such a component in, but then not make it quick and simple to setup and use. How do you tell this component what to name the file? Where to store the file? Or do I have to spend days writing their ridiculous action script that they end up changing with every version of their products?

International Usage Question

I have a friend that wants to use Cold Fusion in an international setting... specifically they want to have an application built that can be used overseas, using a keyboard layout other than English, but when the data is entered into the SQL database by Cold Fusion, it is automatically translated into English. In ActionScript 2, there was an option to add behaviors to a piece on the stage, such as, On Mouse Over Go To Frame x. I absolutely have to do a new project in AS3, but behaviors are not an option in there (Of course...looks like just another way for Adobe to take money from us). So if I cannot do it that way (with the behaviors) how do we NOW get an object to carry that attribute: On Mouse Over Go To Frame x?

I am trying to figure out how to get an input text box in Flash 8 Professional to show a default value, like you would a real form in HTML. I'm passing the values via the Flash URL in the Object tag like so:

I am using Dreamweaver on Mac.

My Dreamweaver/Cold Fusion files are on a Shared Drive, elsewhere on the network, shared through another Mac.

When I use Finder to browse to the Shared Drive, to open a file (clearly the file is there, because you can see it, and the preview of it in Finder), Dreamweaver throws the following error:

Shared Drive/Directory/Subdirectory/Filename was not found.

Can anyone explain?

Scheduler Error for CFMail Routine

I have just set up a new mail server. This a secondary mail server mail2.mydomain.com

When our scheduled tasks run, mail is generated, but ends up dropped in the Undeliverable folder.

A look at the error log for mail says:

"Error","scheduler-3","02/19/08","16:04:55",,"Invalid Addresses"

But the email addresses are valid. They work fine on the primary mail server, and the primary web server, mail.mydomain.com as an example.

I have the DNS entry set up for mail2.mydomain.com, and when that is put into the Mail settings of the the new servers CF Configuration screen, it resolves, and I get a message that it has successfully connected to said DNS entry.

Why am I getting the Error? Why is the mail not going out?

We recently moved our Flash Communication Server to a new company, and had to have the server listen on a port above 8000 to meet the company's network guidelines. We chose port 9100.

Now, our Live Log shows this for every incoming connection:

Stopping FCS from unloading an app instance

Hi,

We're running the older Flash Communication Sever, and we're trying to figure out how to keep it from Unloading application instance when noone is using that application. It's a chat app, and when noone is using it, the server shuts the app down, which wipes out the existing chat history for any new user that comes in, so the new user thinks the chat isn't being used.

Hello all,

I am trying to figure out how to use a couple of variables that I have attached to an swf file via the object tag, like so:

Chat.swf?appInstance=Red&myColor=0x006633&username=thisusername

The swf runs fine.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to take the variables like myColor and username and attach them to a button within the swf that has a behavior to go to a different web page, like this:

http://www.newwebpage.cfm?mycolor=(url.myColor)&username=(url.username)

Can anyone help with this?

Right Click / Settings going to new Web Page

Something weird has started happening on my machine and I'm hoping someone can point me to a solution.

In a Flash Comm Server video Chat application, when you right click and select Settings to set your cam/mic etc. My machine is now rerouting to one of my bookmarks, specifically a Bank of America website. It doesn't open the settings menu any longer. Anyone else seen this?

Trimming off extra characters

I am trying to find out what the CF Function is to trim characters off a variable. For example:

We have a series of variables for filenames such as 2007/filename.jpg, 2007/filename2.jpg, etc, and we want to program the Cold Fusion to strip off the 2007/ so that we are just left with the filename. We just can't seem to find the CF Tag to do that. Can anyone help?

Sending multiple text fields out of Flash

Sorry to bother everyone. I have a rudimentary question, but I am new to this are of Flash. I have a form in an SWF with two input text fields. In my Actionscript, based on the Flash Tutorial under help, I've got my submit button going out of the SWF to an external page, in my case a Cold Fusion page. my getURL looks something like this " http://www.mysite.com/mypage.cfm?FlashField1="+FlashField1_txt.text

That works, however, I have a SECOND field in that form that I need to get out to my Cold Fusion page and adding the necessary &FlashField2= doesn't seem to be working for me. Can anyone advise?

CF Datasource Port Scanning?

Recently we began getting connection errors to our datasources, out of the blue. We had been seeing what appeared to be port scanning when we viewed a netstat, and the scan appeared to be coming from our dbase ip and port. Here is a short example of what we saw:

You can see that the ip of our dbase 67.15.21.250 on port 1433 appeared to be scanning ports on the same IP. At first we thought it was a trojan, or a virus or something and after hours and hours and upgrades and scans we finally decided to change the IP address of the datasources, and eliminate the IP that seemed to be offending. As soon as we changed the IP on our datasources, the results of the netscan showed the same activity, on the new IP address.

So, what we've done is divy up our datasources across all of our IP's on the box, and now things seem to be running smoothly......we see this port scanning activity on those IP's that have the most active datasources, but the system isn't throwing the connection errors, so our customers are none the wiser at the moment.

So, my question is, is this normal CF activity? Or should I be looking for something else on the machine causing malfeasence? (LOL I love that word! Hope I spelled it right)

DB Connection issue - newly arisen

We have been running CF 6.x with MS SQL 2003 on a Windows NT 2000 box for a couple of years now with no problems, but three days ago we began getting this:

Error Executing Database Query. [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connect

We did have this one time in the past, and it looked then to be someone trying to tap into our database directly, so we blocked the IP's in NT IPSec, and the issue went away.

Now maybe 6 or 7 months after that, it has started again.

We ran netstat for the past 2 days and found a couple of IP's that seemed to be trying to tap the Dbase, and they were blocked. Now the netstat is clean, except for some weird issuer where it looks like OUR database is trying to connect to itself.

Anyway, there isn't that much activity, and no changes have been made to the CF or the DB in quite awhile that should cause this error, but yet we're getting it now, alot, and it's disrupting business.

Has anyone else seen this? Can anyone suggest where we might look next for the problem/solution?

Sound in Encoded FLV files

Hi everyone.....

We've got some videos encoded with Flash Video, and we're using the FLVPlayBack component to play them. The video is rockin' and the controls are cool, but our audio isn't coming through.

We've checked the original source files that the videos were encoded from, and the sound is there and working on them, and we've checked our settings on our Flash Video Encoder, and it's set to encode the audio.

We'd appreciate any direction you can give.....even if it pushing us off a cliff! LOL

FLVPlayBack Component

Hello,

I am trying to get a handle on the FLVPlayBack Component.

I have drug the instance of the component to my stage.

When I set the contentPath to the filename, let's call it ald.flv and test the movie on my development machine, the video plays.

However, when I upload the swf and flv file to my live server for quality control checks, it does not play, even though the swf and flv are in the same directory, both on our development box and our live box.

Further, if I set the content path to an http address to point to the flv on our live box, the video does not load, on either our development or our live box.

Now, from the propoganda on the Adobe website, they claim 'It Just Works'. Well, it doesn't 'Just' work.

Can anyone point us in a direction to make this 'work'?

Dreamweaver Studio 8 on MacBook Pro

Hello, I just bought a new Intel Based Mac and a brand spanking new, $1000 copy of Studio 8 but when I try to run Dreamweaver I get a pop up box that says:

Nothing more.

Fireworks from the package runs just fine.

Flash Video Encoder Question(s)

Hello,

This is the first time we've used Flash Video Encoder. We have a video that is about 12 minutes long that is in QuickTime format. We have added it to the FVE queue and have two questions.

1. I think we may have messed up the settings. The first time we tried to do this conversion we tooled around in there, but then when we tried to go back in later we receive a message that says "Flash Video Encoder cannot find the selected file. The file may have been moved or deleted" when we click the Settings button.

2. It takes FOREVER to convert this video. Before we stopped it, it had run for 25 minutes and the estimated time left was over 10 hours.

Is this normal? What on earth are we doing wrong?
