Best practice on sqlite for games?

Hi Everyone, I'm new to building games/apps, so I apologize if this question is redundant...

I am developing a couple games for Android/iOS, and was initially using a regular (un-encrypted) sqlite database. I need to populate the database with a lot of info for the games, such as levels, store items, etc. Originally, I was creating the database with SQL Manager (Firefox) and then when I install a game on a device, it would copy that pre-populated database to the device. However, if someone was able to access that app's database, they could feasibly add unlimited coins to their account, unlock every level, etc.

So I have a few questions:

First, can someone access that data in an APK/IPA app once downloaded from the app store, or is the method I've been using above secure and good practice?

Second, is the best solution to go with an encrypted database? I know Adobe Air has the built-in support for that, and I have the perfect article on how to create it (Ten tips for building better Adobe AIR applications | Adobe Developer Connection) but I would like the expert community opinion on this.

Now, if the answer is to go with encrypted, that's great - but, in doing so, is it possible to still use the copy function at the beginning or do I need to include all of the script to create the database tables and then populate them with everything? That will be quite a bit of script to handle the initial setup, and if the user was to abandon the app halfway through that population, it might mess things up.

Any thoughts / best practice / recommendations are very appreciated. Thank you!

Copy+paste issues in Flash CC 2014

Is anyone else having trouble copying and pasting code in Flash CC 2014? I typically work with smaller code blocks and then merge them into a master file, but that requires copy+paste. When I copy, it appears to copy (paste becomes highlighted) but I cannot paste in any way into the code. it's not working between documents, and not even working inside a single document.

Am I missing something obvious? Any help would be appreciated.

- Just confirmed, switching back to Flash Pro CS6 works just fine with copying and pasting, as long as the content on the clipboard is copied from Flash CS6 and not CC 2014. I cannot copy anything from Flash CC 2014 into another Flash document.

CameraRoll stalls/doesn't load media on Android (Kindle Fire, from Cloud Drive)

When attempting to browse for an image using the CameraRoll function on Kindle Fire 7 HDX, it defaults to accessing "All" of the library, not just CameraRoll (and not just images, even though mediaType.IMAGE is specified and works great on iOS).

Sub-categories in the Library (if you click the menu) reveal All, Videos, Camera Roll, Cloud Drive, and Device. If selecting an image from anything but the Camera Roll (i.e. Cloud Drive), it gets stuck trying to load the media, never loads it, and never throws an error.

Additionally, when using on Samsung Galaxy SII, the initial browse function pulls up all options (Camera, Downloads, Auto, etc.) and when selecting from Downloads or Auto, it stalls out the same way.

If there are any solutions known, I'd love to hear them. Specific things I would think might work include (A) determining where the file is coming from at the mediaPromise level, and if it's not specific to the CameraRoll then cancelling and giving the user a message; (B) Specifically driving the user to that Library sub-category of CameraRoll (and even better, restricting them to that directory only), (C) Finding a way to actually load the image being requested from the Cloud Drive, or (D) some other solution.

All functionality works perfect on iOS, so it's just the Android issue. I am publishing out using Air 14.0.0.110 for Android (and the same for iOS). Flash CS6.

Thank you for your time!

Can I limit / force orientation changes in Air app?

I have an app that works great when restricted to portrait mode - for 99% of it that's exactly what I want. But, I have to play a video in one small portion of it which needs to allow the user to rotate to landscape. This is the only time I want the landscape to work though.

I have the app set to portrait mode with auto-orientation in my publishing settings - so it will allow you to view it in portrait normally and upside-down (but no landscape). I tried manually changing the screen using StageOrientation.ROTATED_RIGHT but it wouldn't work in my testing on iPad 3.

I would be happy with rotating the entire video 90 degrees and the user would just have to turn the device - but I'm using stageVideo and I can't control the rotation (...or can i?). I would also be happy with setting some in-app variable that locks out landscape most of the time, is that possible?

Any suggestions/recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!
