why don't colored markers in Prelude keep their color in Premiere?

Just wondering why it is that when I choose a certain color for my comment markers in Prelude, Premiere automatically colors them green.

Is there no setting in Premiere that would simply respect the colors I chose in Prelude for my markers?

Not sure why, but among my default markers I only have three types appearing in Prelude:

Does anyone know how to restore the default set of markers so that I can recover the others: Flash Cue Point, Web Link, Chapter are all missing from the defaults.

Premiere Pro CC: can blue text interface be changed back to yellow?

Just wondering if there's an option in preferences to change the color of the interface text. It used to be yellow and now it's more difficult to see.

I notice the blue text across the entire range of updated programs: AE, PP, Photoshop, etc.

So is it a setting in the cloud itself that would allow me to change the color back to yellow?

If not, not big issue, I'll just have to get used to it. Love the new interface in any case. Much more responsive with no issues.

I'm missing marker types in adobe Prelude

Does anyone know how to get back the default 5 or 6 Prelude marker types.

For some reason I only have these 3 and I can't figure out why I don't have more types of markers.

I'm missing: Flash Cue, Web Link, and Chapter marker types:

Not sure why but none of my keyboard shortcuts are working in Prelude CC 2014.1

For example, I can't use the Cmnd + right/left arrow to move forward or backward from one marker to the next. The keyboard shortcut even in the menu is actually greyed out:

I just started working in Premiere Pro CC on an iMac Retina 5K and noticed that the entire Premiere Pro interface appears noticeably lighter (as in a lighter grey) on an iMac Retina 5K than on a non-retina iMac. Has anyone else noticed this?

I decided to go into Apple System preferences > Displays > Color and discovered that if you choose "Apple RGB" instead of the default "iMac" the PP interface gets noticeably darker the way it appears on a non-retina iMac. Just thought I'd share that.

I've decided to set my iMac Display Profile therefore to "Apple RGB" at least when working in Premiere or any other Adobe CC program as I like the interface as dark as possible.

One of the great features of FCP7 was that it allowed us to create extended markers.

I'm currently viewing a long documentary interview and I'd like to be able to set extended markers rather than simple markers.

Is there any way to do this in latest version of Premiere Pro CC???

In the Premiere Pro CC timeline, does anyone know if it's possible to modify the frame by frame left/right arrow keyboard shortcut so that instead of having to repeatedly press the arrow key, you can keep it pressed while the footage plays frame by frame???

what do clips with diagonal stripes mean in the timeline???

If you look at the two video clips labeled "R21" in my timeline, you can see that there they have diagonal lines through them. Can anyone tell me what that means?

I don't think they're offline because otherwise I would see the usual multi-lingual notice in the program monitor window indicating "offline"

why does "Link Media" behave differently when used as a keyboard shortcut vs when right clicked???

Not sure whether anyone else is encountering this, but the "Link Media" command behaves differently when right clicked as opposed to when used as a keyboard shortcut.

When you right click to select that option for an offline file, you get only the corresponding disconnected source media. But when you execute "Link Media" via a keyboard shortcut, PP brings up a huge list of all other offline media. Why does it only do that when you use the keyboard shortcut for "Link Media" but not when you right click "Link Media".

I'd like to get the Link Media command to behave via the keyboard shortcut the same way it behaves when right clicked. I don't want to have to deal with relinking a hundred other files, but just the single offline file I'm working on.

I have this annoying issue that never goes away in Premiere, I can't figure out what's causing it.

I currently have the latest version of PPCC, but this was an issue that I encountered in previous versions.

The problem is that whenever I have missing media for a clip and I use the Media Browser window to find it, the browser window always defaults to the same folder path and there doesn't seem to be a way to change it. If I know where all my media clips are, why doesn't Premiere allow me to set the default folder where I know my missing clips are.

For example: let's say that I'm missing all of my royalty free music files. I know that they're at the end of this folder path: Media -> Audio -> Music -> Royalty Free

Why can't I set that path as the default path in the Media Browser window to search. For some reason, that window is stuck on the same path from six months ago when I linked a map in a graphics folder. There seems to be no way to reset the default path to something else. And as I result I keep having to drill out of the same folder to drill back into any other folder. It's really frustrating and needlessly time consuming.

Instead of remembering the last folder where any disconnected file in question was known to be, Premiere always defaults to wanting to search the same "maps" folder.

I don't understand what's causing that. But it happens in any Premiere project.

Mercury Playback Engine: software accel only for 5K Retina iMac, when would Adobe enable hardware acceleration???

Just curious when Adobe might be updating Premiere Pro CC list of support graphics cards for hardware accelaration.

The iMac 5K Retina has an optional upgraded AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4GB GDDR5 graphics card.

But this is apparently what happens in Premiere Pro CC when you start the program on an iMac Retina 5K with that graphics card: the hardware acceleration option is greyed out.

will the iMac 5K Retina's AMD Radeon graphics card be a problem for Premiere Pro CC and AE???

So far I've had no problems at all editing any 4K footage scaled down in 1080p timelines in Adobe Premiere Pro CC on my 2012 iMac i7 with these specs:

Now I'm considering upgrading to the iMac 5K Retina with the following maxed out specs:

• I will be maxing out the DDR3 RAM to 32GB with third party RAM sticks, probably OWC.

But I've read in different forums that even the 5K Retina iMac's upgraded AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4GB GDDR5 graphics card would not be able to handle video editing in Premiere Pro or effects in AE CC. That this would require an NVIDIA card which Apple has chosen to do away with for their 5K iMac Retina. I guess I'm having trouble understanding how a maxed out 2014 iMac Retina 5K would not be at least as powerful as a 2012 iMac i7.

As I use Adobe CC's programs to do all my creative work, I would not want to upgrade to an iMac that can't handle editing 4K in a 1080p timeline just because of a change in graphics cards.

What are your thoughts? Is anyone working in Premiere Pro CC considering the iMac retina?

Premiere Pro CC bug? title in title window showing up as different title on timeline

Not sure if this has anything to do with reported bugs in the 7.1 update, but I've tried several times to lay subtitles on track V2 and after a couple titles, Premiere Pro causes them to display in the wrong order on the timeline.

What's really bizarre is if I double click my title to open it up, it says one thing in the title window and something completely different on the timeline.

For example..."Title 07 reads: "to the point their faces were covered in blood" in the title window

But the very same Title 07 reads "that's when for the first time I realized" (these are the words belonging to Title 08)

I've tried everything I can think of including restarting my macbook pro, and I'm running the latest version of Mavericks and PPCC.

I just don't want to have to pay a professional facility to do subtitles that I can easily do myself. But I haven't found any good subtitling programs, so I was really hoping I could rely on Premiere Pro's built in titler to do my subtitles.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. And I'd like to know if anyone else has encountered this issue of titles showing up as the next title rather than the current title on the timeline.

Does anyone know if there's a keyboard shortcut for targeting tracks or else moving the "V1" and "A1" targets up and down the tracks in the timeline with the latest PPCC 2014.1 update???

I believe PPCC refers to it as "source patching". But looking through the vast keyboard shortcut list, I haven't found it.

moving stereo file from two tracks to one track in timeline

I have a project that I imported from FCP7 to PPCC. The problem is that some of my stereo audio files got placed onto two audio tracks (like they are in FCP7).

I'd like to move these stereo files onto single audio tracks in PPCC. How do this so I can minimize the clutter on my timeline. Please see here:

Is it possible to have all my lower third titles appear in exactly the same position in the lower left hand corner of the titling window. Right now I can only do a rough match.

Is there no snapping function I can turn on so that the titles will snap to the corners of the title safe window in the titling window???

And regarding alignment, why are all the alignment options greyed out except for the centering options??? Thank you very much in advance for any help you give on this.

unable to batch capture with Premiere Pro CC via Kona LHi

AJA's web site claims Premiere Pro CC is compatible with the Kona LHi card, but I can't get the two to work together properly. After repeated tries, I uninstalled and reinstalled everything AJA, but still no luck.

I need to batch capture DV clips from some mini-DV tapes on my Sony MVR035U tape deck. But I also need to upconvert them from 480i to 720p60 using my Kona Lhi card. I should be able to do this with Premiere Pro CC. But the PPCC Capture window won't give me any audio feedback when I select "AJA Movie Capture" in the Capture Settings pull down menu. I only get audio feedback when I enable "DV capture" but then I'm no longer able to upconvert.

Looking forward to any feedback on this issue. Been tying all day to trouble shoot this problem.

Can't Open Projects

I may be the only one experiencing this problem. But it really scares me that after updating to Premiere Pro CC 2014, I can't open a single PPCC project I created prior to today.

PPCC: timecode navigation not working on numeric keypad

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm on an iMac i7 running Premiere Pro CC on Mac OS Mavericks.

I have a keyboard with numeric keypad, yet in Premiere Pro CC when I use the numeric keyboard for timecode navigation, nothing happens.

Timecode simply gets deselected. Am I missing something?

I would like to go back or forward a specific number of seconds or frames using my numeric keypad but Premiere Pro CC isn't letting me do it.

Not sure what could be causing this but searching for any clips in Premiere Pro CC project window takes forever.

I'm editing on a 2013 iMac i7 maxed out with full RAM (32GB) and my project along with all clips is on an external 4TB thunderbolt drive with over 1TB of free space.

Searching for a single clip, will often take minutes when typing the clip's name in the project window. It should pop up within seconds but it takes literally can take up to 5 minutes as the mac spinning beach ball keeps flashing. Is this normal? Hopefully the latest update will make the project window searches much faster.

I just can't understand it as I had a project of similar size in FCP7 where I could call up clips within a split second just by typing the name.

PPCC: can you batch import layered files???

I have a Premiere Pro CC project that involves hundreds of multilayered Photoshop files. Is there a way to batch import these files?

Right now, PP keeps asking me the same question for each file "individual layers"? I wish I could say yes to all the files, but the window keeps popping up for every file.

Is there no way to batch import these 200 files (by selecting "individual layers" for all) without having to answer the same question 200 times?

Otherwise, this is going to take make hours to do this simple repetitive task. There must be a work around.

unable to relink media files that are clearly there...

I'm sure it's some setting that I have badly configured, but I'm unable to relink media files that are right there.

Premiere Pro CC is refusing to relink my files on the basis that the media format is not supported, but these are simple mp4 files. What could I be doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

trim window not working...

Whenever I hit "T" to open the trim window, as soon as I hit the spacebar to play my footage, the trim window closes immediately.

Impossible for me to play any footage in the trim window without being taken back to the program monitor window. Is this normal?

I have no idea why this is happening and I'm running the latest version of Premiere Pro CC.

I'm essentially unable to use the trim window to do any refine editing.

getting poor results with Refine Edge tool

Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue. But after following numerous tutorials on lynda.com as well as tv.adobe.com and youtube, I just can't get good selection results using the Refine Edge tool in Photoshop CC and I'm convinced it's something I'm doing wrong, but I have no idea what.

After downloading this Wikipedia image of Bismarck for a history documentary, I tried isolating the figure from the background using Refine Edge and keep getting poor results. Maybe it's my settings, I'm just not sure. But after painting over my edges, I end up with terrible results. Unfortunately, I'm getting poor results with other images as well. Can anyone venture to guess what I might be doing wrong? Thanks very much in advance.
