CFDatefield not working in FF

This has never happened to me: something actually works in IE and NOT in FF!

Current version of FF is 3.06. The CFdatefield input does not function in any Mozilla-based browser and throws a Javascript error: Error: "_f is undefined"

This points to a line in the JS:

Can anyone help? This appears to be either a new issue (with a new release of FF maybe) or it's a local issue with my code (everything is possible I guess :).

Hi All,

I am using error catching on a site and it sends me errors when they occur while showing visitors a friendly error.

Recently, I am getting hundreds of errors from different locations of the site that all have one thing in common:

"Diagnostics:
10 null

The error occurred on line 240."

The line number is always different but the diagnostics code is the same. I have read multiple posts on the 'null null' error but that doesn't seem to address this particular 'null' error.

I can't repeat this behavior myself as I go to the site, I don't get the error but visitors have been mentioning it and I am getting way more error emails than usual.

My hunch is it has something to do with the server (memory, speed or something like that).

Can anybody help?

cfajaxproxy callback doesn't work! HELP!

I have created an application which uses the CFAJAXPROXY tag extensively to call functions through Javascript. Everything works fine on my local machine (Vista, CF8,all browsers).

When I upload the files to the server, the CallBackhandler function stops working. Using the CFDEBUG window I can see that the call to the CFC is actually made AND it returns the desired result... yet, it doesn't do anything with the result. It just does nothing!

The Callbackhandler(s) refresh the page elements (such as CFDIVS and CFLAYOUTS) in order to show the updated data. It just doesn't work!

There is no error but there are several warnings in the Error Console in FF that state stuff like:

"Warning: reference to undefined property o.stopPropagation

I am guessing this has something to do with it but am not sure what and why.

I am also guessing that there may be an issue with the paths/mappings of the site that may cause the callbackfunction to lose track or something like that since the structure of the site IS different locally than it is on the server... however, when I call the templates directly (not through the root of the site) it still doesn't work.

I also tried to upload the entire CFIDE/scripts directory and try and point my <cfajaximport> tag to it, but that throws an error (which also doesn't make any sense):

So, although I think it is related to the JS files in the CFIDE directory and that for some reason it can't find the script for the callbackhandler function in the page, it just does nothing.

Maybe I am completely wrong and I don't want to steer anyone in the wrong direction so if you have any better ideas, please let me know.

I can't find any information about this issue anywhere (perhaps I have stumbled upon something unique!?). And, just to reiterate... everything works fine on my local server!

bound autosuggest only displays selective results?

I've been stumped by this issue and hope someone here can point me in the right direction:

I have a autosuggest field that is bound to a component. When I call the component directly, it works as intended... when I try and use the component through the binding, it doesn't give me the same results.

Here's the autosuggest code:

As mentioned, when I call the component directly, like this:

It gives me the correct results (i.e. the Team name)

When I type the same term in the text field, I get no results. When I type in a team name, I only get a result when the team name starts with the search term I am typing. Any other search returns no results.

Can anyone see if I am doing something wrong or is there something else going on that I am not aware of?

CFC vs. Query performance

I created a discussion board. Each entry displays the preferences of the user who posted the entry, such as 'Allow Private Messages', 'Allow Emails' etc. When looping through the entries, I have to query the database to get the preferences for each individual 'poster'. Because I thought it would increase performance, I created a CFC method and call the Object into the session scope. Then I initiate the method when looping through the results and setting a variable in the THIS scope in the instance to the query result value.

When comparing the two ways of doing it, there's a four-fold increase in load time using the CFC, this doesn't seem right and I suspect I am doing something wrong.

Below are the two different approaches, maybe someone can help me:

Without CFC:
